Hey all, Today I decided it was a good idea to change every single font in system/fonts via FontInstaller (I made a backup in the app), but my phone wont boot! I'm running JB 4.1.2 (MB2) on my Ace 2, and I need to know if it's possible to access the phone's filesystem (like system/fonts), find the backup, and restore so I can boot again.
I really can't flash a new ROM or delete personal data.
I would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks in advance.
PS: The phone is rooted with SuperSU, and I can access recovery mode and download mode.

just use a simple step: Factory Reset via Recovery Mod or Reflash your MB2 with odin

Hi!
Before flashing the doomlord kernel and installing the rom, wipe every thing.
Factory reset, cache partition and dlavik cache... That worked for me.
I'm using CM9 CR2 at the moment, and is the best so far....
Hope this works for you!
Cheers :good:
Hello
I want a nandroid backup of stock rom because I have installed custom rom and want revert back
to stock rom I have made a backup of stock rom before installing custom rom but when I restore it the
restore completes but the phone stucks at boot Samsung galaxy y young............... I didn't want to restore through odin
so plzzzzz plzzzzz, someone plz provide me the nandroid backup of stock rom
I have one but without kernel
Sent from my GT-S5360
A nandroid backup includes users application with data,
That's why I think noones going to share a Nandroid, why you don't want to flash through ODIN
Use ODIN, it's a better way than nandroid backup....u might get stuck at logo in the new backup too, but ODIN's always safe....
Code:
System.out.println("Sent from my SGY");
This is what you want, btw its an asian firmware, you may need to change csc after flashing if you are not from asia:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1710161
can anyone tell me that why i stucks at logo after restoring the backup and i wanna tell 1 more thing that the 1st time i restored the backup it restored without any difficulty but at second time it stucks at logo why it is so......
Make sure you are on stock kernel before restoring the backup

here it is bro..
go to stock recovery then wipe data/cache, then apply update from sdcard choose your cwm then inside cwm wipe data/cache again, then backup/restore then restore... dont reboot, select advance then choose reboot recovery.. then apply update from sdcard choose cwm, install zip from sdcard, choose zip, find your stock kernel.zip then install.. after install, reboot system, done..
The previous custom rom.you installed probably installed a custom kernel that requires 99complete in init.d folder to bootand obviously that file doesnt exist in stock rom bro

It's because the custom ROM would have been on a different kernel, so when revert back to the default one, it gets stuck. I'm not exactly sure though.

thnx man i will look for them i appreciate it .. also would u mind telling if the cwm from xparts app all i need to install the rom? can i keep the stock kernel from my 2.3.3?
Use version 5 or below... The newest version doesn't work correctly.
"We are the fire that will consume them, belly and bowel, head and heart, many flames of us, but one fire."
Root GB 2.3.3. Use CWM Installer v5 to install CWM. Flash NXT Lite rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2067356&highlight=cdma. It work with stock kernel, which is why you don't need to unlock bootloader. But remember its free to unlock it from Sony site. Personally I recommend using Flashtool to update to kernel 2.3.4, when you flash the ftf you can uncheck everything, but the kernel.

It mean the checksum didn't match up which mean the rom file is corrupt. Do a disk check on your sdcard.

Also make sure if you are downloading a flashable rom or a Nandroid backup. If it's a nandroid you have to put it in /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup and Restore it.

If you changed or removed a system file on your stock rom, whether it was a browser or one of the gapps, you'll get an md5 mismatch. This has happened to me on one of my tablets, I flashed a stock factory rom to put everything back into order, then flashed the custom rom after, and all was well.
Thnx guys I will try the scan disk on card see if it work when I get home ... N I never removed anything from previous stock rom so I dnt know ... also so a terminal emulator fix but dnt know how to do it I'll keep u guys posted
thnx

Follow the instruction from the rom thread, it's a nandroid, you have to restore it, not flash.
Sent from XDA app
Alright so after trying all kinds of stuff I found a fix for md5 Miss match .. I simply just took all the spaces of the folder name .. example: rom super 1 I just renamed romsuper1. OK so I followed the rom tutorial and all went good but after I rebooted it started with Sony Ericson logo then a Expedia logo the went back to Sony logo then Expedia logo n so so it wouldn't boot ... so i did the same process again ass tutorial but this time didn't clean dalvik cache like tutor said too before reboot. And it started fine .. my question is .. is my from now messed up maybe cuz I sent clean dalvik? Should I do all over again? I appreciate all patience and help
Sent from my R800x using xda app-developers app
So did you restore the nandroid backup and booted into the new NXt rom successfully? Then you should just do a factory reset.
Before you flash a rom or restore you should always do a factory reset or the phone might not boot, in CWM this is equivalent to choosing "wipe data/cache", this will encompass the wiping of dalvik cache which is contained within /data partition. Doing this will clean off personal data.
Sometimes you have to "wipe /system partition" as well, this is equivalent to wiping C:/Windows, as in the entire OS is gone. Then you have to restore a nandroid or flash the rom otherwise the phone has no OS to boot into.
You can choose to wipe only cache and dalvik cache, these are just temporarily files. I do it before making a nandroid backup.

Yes I got it to work successfully.. but I did not do a factory reset after.. wouldn't that wipe the from I just recovered? Thnxs for all ur help man.

i already tried to flash a different ROM, and if it says the installation was successful
it still wont start up and blocks
You can possibly install stock rom through odin again
i have tried many times like you
cause I want to install custom rom but can not wipe dalvik cache so it just doesnt work to flash a new rom... I ALSO cant restore the recent backup , only the backup long time ago can be restored

hello,
i posted a little time before how to get out of my boot loop (after trying to install jelly bean) unfortunately nothing worked so a friend took my phone for reparation
now it works again and have a question ,
i saw i run gingerbread 2.3.3 and wanted to know how i could go to jelly bean without bricking my phone again.
and i have 2 apps i cant remove ( book store and music store) how can i remove them ?
aditional details:
baseband ver. : s5660XXKP7
kenel ver. : [email protected] #1
build number : GINGERBREAD.XXKPA
Flash a clockworkmod recovery first, then Flash ROM package.
To delete these app,you need to root your phone first
The Chinese are improving themselves!
For the app uninstalls: Root Uninstaller (needs root but you already have root right)
For flashing:
Flash cwm
Flash ext4 formatter
Factory reset
Clear cache
Clear dalvik cache
Flash rom
Done

thanks for the uninstaller
but last time i did these steps to get jelly bean and it bricked, maybe i had a wrong file (?)
do you maybe know a good link ?
What do you mean?

the previous time i did the exact same steps and bricked my phone
i guess it was because of wrong files so i don't know which ones to actually use
Wrong file of what?
For cwm preferred is ext+rfs compabible version
Sent from my GT-S5660 using xda app-developers app
use following recovery for your gio.
CWM Recovery: signed_cwm-5.0.2.7-flashablezip-ext4+rfs
and choose any rom from Development section of Galaxy Gio GT-S5660
remember bootloop is not same as bricking bricking is something much worst.
follow steps mentioned by DevWithCookies and i'm sure it would work fine.
