Hello, I've been using my Desire Z for 1.5 years and I found out that camera has a lot of dust over it. IDK how did it get in since a lot of phone cameras are single piece with the lens cover and the glass but apparently HTC didn't use that tech. Is there anyway I can clean that dust of with compressed air or something like that? Thanks!
Maybe does this helps you out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SliyuYBvfic

good idea, but not new. there were collective orders on some german forums, where they ordered sapphire glasses in perfect size as replacement.
here are two leftovers on ebay:

the manufacturer is "Edmund Optics"

Or don't bother, my work mozart manages fine without and there's still a flat bit of glass covering the lens behind the rear cover...!

The camera lens cover (red ring with plastic piece in it) fell off my Dinc. Has anyone had this problem, if so how did you go about fixing it.

A little super glue perhaps?
Thanks for the quick reply and the link. I ordered a new cover, hopefully superglue will stick it better than the old damaged one.

Mine fell off haven't got around to fixing it. Super glue should do the trick.

Yeah thanks for that hilarious ! I mean is there any solution you can buy to shine it up ?
I use the individual lens wipes. Bought a pack of 60 for $2 at Walmart.
I've just used lens cleaner and a lens cloth.

+1 to that, I have used a coputer screen cleaner with a microfibre cloth. also used a glass scratch remover every now and then to remove micro scratches and keep the glass really looking good. One problem is that the polish gets between the screen and the case in the tiny gaps so it doesn't look good. but a fine paint brush gets it out again. Also used the polish on the camera lens and it removed some of the small scratches.
Whichever shirt I happen to be wearing

I just use my jeans or top, never thought about a proper screen cleaner

When my one X is charging on textile like a pillow or sth it heats up like crazy. Anyone with the same problem?
Also my lens looks like it is gonna give up on me any day now..
I always take great care of my phone, before this one had a hd2 had it for 3 year, not a single scratch. I hate the cheap ass build quality.
I won't buy a dumb plastic piece of sh.. anymore. HTC please, for your next phones, use aluminium.
I wonder, can the heating problems be fixed?

Well, y'know, you could put it on something thermally conductive rather than a thermal insulator.

I'm not that careful with my phone, and not a single mark, dent, scuff, scratch or any other sign of damage.
Dropped it a few times too

This is one of the most scratch resistant screens I've ever had.if you don't put it in your pocket with keys ect I doubt it will scratch.

So what's the final verdict on the Camera Lens mine is pretty scratched how would I get rid of those?

Best method I've used is toothpaste. Get some and rub it on there then clean off. Gives like a waxing effect you would do to a car. Helps if pictures are not coming out clear. If you have scratches and clear pictures well then nothing to complain about. It's glass, it gets scratched by anything it comes in contact with. The beauty of glass huh?
Any special type of paste ? White ? Clear ? Gel ? Extra whitening ?
HTC M8
You don't want the extra whitening cuz the camera already over exposes the pics enough as it is
