Took this while driving I thought it looked aamazing. shot in superior mode

I think the ZL camera sensor has potential. The auto mode works good at night and indoors. But have to play around with settings (normal mode) for good daylight shots. Here is a sample night shot using superior auto mode
Sweet, keep them coming!
Some more sample pics here camera seems pretty decent to me though can't compare to my D7000... the first two are direct from the phone, the second two are after compressed after uploading to facebook but colours still look good, rooted and managed to loose the originals ... idiot

Anyway, I posted a pic of my food since it was semi colorful (no options changed - superior auto mode)

Just wondering what settings/modes you guys are finding give the best results for outdoor daytime, indoor, and nighttime shots?
I've been using superior auto only so far, and find that the pics I take are quite noisy, even when it comes to outdoor shots with good daylight..

The firts and the second one was taken by Camera360 aplicatión and enhanced effect. This app got better fotos than the stock app in daylight situations.
The third was taken by normal mode, ISO 160, exposure 1,5 and point medition.
very nice, you can still see the chromatic aberration problem that the Z camera is having and some noise/compression problem in the second shot but overally much cleaner and sharper than the default Camera app.

I've searched but didn't find anyting. Is there an app or something anywhere that would allow us to take wide pictures with the play?
Search panorama on Google Play.
(Or get pipehole to make fisheye lens, its the thing you have got in door and you look whos behing the door)

I don't know what you mean by "wide pictures" but there is an app that lets you take pictures with the R button. It's simply called "Camera mod".
Wide, widescreen...

The only way I know how to do widescreen is to crop after taking them.

Use Photoshop to make the photo 16:9 rather than 4:3. There's no way to expand the left/right, you can only crop the top/bottom so why bother?
I'm not interested in editing. I want them correctly in that format.

The app Camera ICS (which works on GB) claims to allow widescreen photo taking
Surprising it works on gingerbread! But Milo wide. I think the problem is hardware camera. It's possible to modify the camera app, some did it for another Xperia.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Lol, wide = panorama, panorama can be 360 or like this one.
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
I checked about panorama apps, indeed wide but very small resolution and low quality....

This is a new camera application from Lenovo flagship set.
I'm amazed by the quality of the camera. Takes sharp and good pictures than our stock camera
and also gallery has lot of editing features like beauty , special effects etc. I tested on my xperia ion and it's working great.
( If you don't know about lenovo flagship set " It is the device with 13mp camera with 1080p display".

not working under Slimbean
just tried out and it is not fully working on my Xperia S with Slimbean. The 1st shot was taken, but then the app frozen and has to be closed in order to use it again (same as Focal app by CM). what a pitty, app looks really great. maybe it works great on stock or other ROMs

If you try to set camera to be default camera and press cam button to open it you get FC

And this filters doesn't work too
If I try to take a shoot with fisheye lens I get FC.
Other than that - very good camera.
I tried to shoot falling object and it wasn't blurred like in other camera apps.
But if I can't use cam button to open it - it's useless.
Tnx anyway...

Another app. This way you'll all have like 100 apps on your phone. The way to go is to replace the stock one with another one, better one of course, not install it as an alternative. NOT IMPRESSED

Panaroma and burst mode fc. Other than that camera as well as gallery is gr8.

Have you tried installing a third-party camera app, like Google Camera or Pro Capture? Also, inspect your front camera closely and make sure nothing's covering it, such as a screen protector, and that it's clean from dust and scuffs.
