If bootloader is correctly unlocked using HTC DEV WebSite, you should first install a custom recovery.
Then go into recovery and do these steps:
1. Choose your rom
2. Copy Rom Zip to SDCARD (mount sdcard from recovery - usb toggle)
3. Flash Rom
4. fastboot flash boot boot.img (this is the kernel image you can extract from the rom zipfile)
5. Reboot

There is nothing wrong with your bootloader. It's been relocked. You need to unlock it again (if you haven't already by now). Then full wipe and flash a ROM in recovery. Then pull the boot.img out of the ROM and
Code:
fastboot flash boot.img
from your computer. Read, man!
Thanks Bro

There's a guide in the General forums somewhere about flashing a stock RUU to fix autorotate. I think it's linked in post #3 of the cfX thread.

HI,
I done this before but prepared myself with the document you mentioned above - still after flashing JellyTime CM10.1 R6.1 and install 100% and just left to reboot - all black and stuck. I can't start anything, no recovery no nothing. So what do I do to recover from this ? I need my phone back..
I got a HTC desire HD by the way... and rooted of course.. I had a Cold Sandwish before..

Thanks for answering !
I'm rooted and with all preconditions to be able to install a custom ROM. Just before this I had IceColdSandwich by Lord Clocan - so I guess my bootloader is unlocked. Before install of the JellyTime I used ClockWork for wipe and flash. I also updated the CWM to the latest version.

Nothing - BUT it could be as easy cause as the battery power is too low. Now I got it all shut down and chargering it. Before it looked shut off but no charge indication was showing.. so lets see.. Let you know in 2 hour or so.
Thanks!
/*EDIT*/
So shut the phone off entirely and charged battery completely and tried to start again - HTC reboot / splash screen and then black without any possibility to enter in CWM or boot loader. I'm getting desperate...
By the way - I tried the volume down / power button. I don't get into the bootloader.
OK.. minutes after writing this above: After having it shutdown and using volume button / power - yes I got into the bootloader. Now I'm not sure what to do - FASTBOOT , RECOVERY, FACTORY RESET , SIM LOC or IMAGE CRC ..

Re unlock your bootloader with the unlock_code.bin that you have when you first unlock the bootloader.
Re install the CWM recovery.
Put the backup to your sdcard.
Restore your backup.

3-5 mins. wait for 10 mins.
After 10 mins still not reach the homescreen, you may need to flash a boot.img.
You can try this kernel : boot-TK-USB-201212251804.img if booting is not successful.

I am a noob, no clue what to do with that. I know how to flash, and thats about it. Still no boot.
Attached is boot flashing script.
Extract it to your desktop.
Connect your device in fastboot mode (same like when you want to unlock the bootloader)
You should see the word fastboot usb on the bootloader screen
Open the Boot_Flasher folder and run the Install Boot.img.bat
It will install the boot.img for your device.
Gotta go now.. will check your progress later.

No problem :good::good:
Now you can start again trying any other ROM that you want, read their instruction properly especially flashing their kernel/boot.img part.
When problem arise, now you know how to be back on stock (always keep your backup in a safe place)

Go to the link I provided and look down the list for your cid, htc001, and then your main version. I can't see the 3.20.401.1 so I would go for the 3.18.401.1 and then flash the stock boot.img in the nandroid. Then get the stock recovery and flash that and then you will be able to ota to the latest. And before anyone mentions it,I know the latest is there but that won't upgrade the hboot

all the files in the folder are either WIN or MD5 files
The phone itself boots up fine, however whenever I try to load up recovery (I have flashed TWRP) some red text flashes, then it loads into fastboot.
I heard it might be a cache or bad TWRP file, however I have no idea how to fix either of them.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

TWRP for kk & Lo are in this ZIP

how to flash here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xsn6co4Ve6M
I tried flashing the stock recoveries, but it gave the same result. Whenever I select recovery, the 'entering recovery' text flashes for a second, then the phone goes into the fastboot menu.
I'm running KK by the way.

Keep in mind to flash any custom recovery (twrp, cmw, philz touch) you need to have you bootlodder unlocked
If stock is not working can you may flash TWRP
The phone model in both settings and hardware info only displays as HTC_0PFJ50. Again, both flashes work fine, it's just that whenever I enter recovery, it goes into the fastboot menu instead of the recovery menu (bootloader has been unlocked).

Can you do "fastboot getvar all" and post the result here
Whenever I try that, it only comes up with the 'adb help' list, in fact all the adb commands ends up with the help menu apart from 'adb devices' which results in

HT57NYC00235 offline)
Fastboot getvar all ends with a endless <waiting for device>. USB debugging has been turned on.

-Read me well before you flash this recovery
/.
THIS twrp recovery is for your model A51_TUHL, but for lollipop
hence, it won't run on your kitkat which you have rite now . Can you make OTA update from your phone & get lollipop but for that too you need to flash your working stock recovery & re-lock boot lodder.
After this is done Go for lollipop OTA update & when your phone will Run lollipop
After that again Unlock bootlodder,
Code:
fastboot flash unlocktoken unlock_code.bin
- Unlocking bootlodder will wipe your device so make all types of backup
After bootlodder is unlocked stay at bootlodder and flash this twrp recovery 2.8.7
To conclude i think there is no twrp for kitkat your model .

:good:
Flashing the stock recovery rom still doesn't allow me to enter recovery. Relocking the ROM and checking for software update tells me that my phone is up to date. (not sure if this has anything to do with having no recovery). Now the bootloader is stuck in 'relocked' mode, and trying to unlock it again fails because I cannot enter recovery.
I'm probably taking up too much of your time anyway, and since I can use my phone without any problems (just no root) I think I might as well give up at this point. Maybe i'll figure it out eventually after a lot of trial and error.
Regardless, thank you very much for the continued support!
Its your wish

are these recovery compatible with the d820u ? i have a d820u running on lollipop with bootloader unlocked
edit :nvm i got twrp 2.8.7 working
Hi.
I seem to be having the same issue as the original poster - on the same model hardware, whenever I attempt to load into recovery, it appears the system starts loading it then immediately bails back to Fastboot mode. This occurs using the recovery image linked from this thread, as well as with various other recovery images that I've tried. Each recovery image loads into the phone without error, but every time the result is the same.
Otherwise the phone boots without issue and appears to operate normally. Note that I have successfully unlocked the boot partition.
I've included the output of "getvar all" below, however one thing that may be relevant that I have noticed is that when I load into HBoot there is a brief moment where it appears the phone is verifying *.zip images. It's too quick for me to get file names, but the only thing I can think of is that it looks like it's overwriting existing partitions with stock images every time HBoot loads. Is this a thing?
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hi This seems to be the same issue that I'm having. Getting bootloop on everything, when i select recovery it bootloops. I relocked the bootloader now i get errors trying to unlock. I've tried to fastboot new recovery but get Signature verify fail. I'm not sure what happened to it as a friend brought it like this. they said they did the official update then it went in to bootloop. The bootloader said "RELOCKED" So i presume they've already rooted this and put a custom recovery on but then its been deleted when they've done the official update to lollipop.
On bootloader it says Software status: Official
This is the dual sim 820n version. I've asked for help in a few threads but with no replys but came across this thread which more or less fits what my issue.
Please this is driving me mad now. Thanks

Hi guys,
Hoping someone can help me.
I've got a HTC One X that is currently stuck on the HTC splash screen. looks like previous owner unlocked it, as it had a version of CWM as Recovery.
I'm wanting to Restore the phone back to Original Stock Firmware/ROM (JB or Higher if available), but so far, with all the Tutorials and such I've read through, the links in a lot of them seem to be no more.

But it appears to be ICS, a lower version and different Radio...
Is there an 'RUU' that's more Stock, maybe a ROM directly from HTC?
If I get an Optus RUU... does that mean it'll have all that Optus bloatware in it ?
From reading around, I believe I'll need 3x files?

There's a nandroid backup in the nandroid collection thread in the general forum that's 2.17.xxx which is still ICS but you might be able to restore it using cwm and flashing the boot.IMG in the backup. It might not work though.

Hey Mrbtree, thanks for the reply . I came across the nandroid backup from here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140 , but the versions need to match, don't they ?
What happens if you install a RUU / Nandroid with a different CID ? I've come across a couple of backups with the correct Main Version and Radio version.. just different CID.
At the moment, I managed to install Android Revolution HD 33.1, which I think is JB.. seems ok..
I've been able to flash my 4.1 backup after I updated to 4.2.2 but not sure how 4.1 to ics will work or if it will. I would just try and restore the optus ics nandroid from the thread if it works, it works if not I would just stick with Android revolution.

You can try this method: search for "OneX Modder", download them, open and flash stock recovery. Then with this tool relock your bootloader. (the tool was made by me ) Then download the ruu (as you as said), run it and wait. When the process is completed, boot up the phone and update them via Update app. You will get JB (4.2.2) and a few little updates. Install them and you are done!
