I recently downloaded the LMT launcher which is awesome. I want to use it as my primary method of navigating. My KFHD, but I don't know how to use it as an application launcher. There are options where you can assign tasks or keys to the "pie" partitions, but I'm not sure how to go about assigning the task of application launcher. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere in the forums, but my query relates to finding a decent 3rd party launcher app which works well with the HTC One X.
I've experienced a few instances of lag with Sense and wanted to explore other options. Have briefly tried both Go Launcher EX and ADWLauncherEX (my two "go to" launchers in the past) and have been disappointed by the fact that I can't seem to disable the "3 dot" button which takes up the bottom row of the screen.
I understand there is a "hack" for re-mapping the software 3-dot button to one of the hardware keys which requires root, but I'm unwilling to root my handset at this early stage.
Has anyone found a way to disable the 3-dot menu button in either Go or ADW launchers (it's certainly not needed because you can configure a "gesture" to bring up the settings menu), or any other decent launcher which supports disabling of the 3-dot button??
Or are my only options at this stage to "root" or put up with Sense?
Apex launcher works good and w/o the dots.
Thanks for the heads up on Apex launcher. Have downloaded and am using it now. Will also try Nova launcher which I understand is also designed for ICS devices.
I always operate my tablets in landscape mode. But on 4.3, Google have moved the softkeys from the left hand side of the screen to the centre, and I keep hitting the home key accidentally. Does anyone know of an app please that will get them back where they should be?!
The default launcher does not give the option to choose where the softkeys should be placed. You should install a more customizable launcher. In my memory, "NOVA launcher" or lightening home launcher should do it. Smart Launcher has the keys on the left by default, at least in older versions. Yet, the placement of the softkeys can be enforced when running apps: installing a customizable launcher will allow you to change the default placement, but they can move when the screen displays an app.

Thanks for your reply. I actually already use Nova, but I can't find an option that does this. I'll have a look at Smart Launcher..
Ok so im trying to do something with mi launcher it might require apk deconpile im not sure but i want to re assign a key function.
theres something called one key clear (aka the task manager/switcher) just like in miui when you long press the home button. well this feature can also be usable one GB roms thanks to Mi launcher but the only thing is that you only can apply this action to the swipe down on home screen. i want to disable the built in GB task switcher and assign the mi launcher one click clear to the home button long click.
also as a bonus i would like to enable blur on this launcher like when opening folders.
Hello here are my current issues:
1. Settings the launcher to Nova in the settings will only work with button navigations.
- Using gesture navigation take you to nubia launcher if you use the home gesture on any app/screen
2. Even if you use the button navigations, whilst in Nova,
when going into recent app button, no matter if you clear or press back, you will be returned to nubia launcher
Using the CN model flashed with global ROM.
I want to use Nova launcher with gestures and have heard some in the thread mentioning they have this working.
Can someone lend me a hand please?

Don't know if you're still having this issue or not but how I somehow got it to work is going into the settings, app info, hit the 3 dots in the upper right and select Default App Settings. Tap on Desktop and change it to Nova Launcher. Sometimes though, when I exit a couple of particular apps, it resorts back to the Nubia Launcher. So what I did was keep the icon for Nova Launcher on the main desktop of the Nubia Launcher. This only happens rarely but still a pain when it does.
anyone know is this bug fix on 4.23 update?
I have used lawnchair and nova, but gesture Navigation is not responsive with both of them... It either freezes of changes default to system launcher.. Any fixes?

gesture is only for system launcher. for 3rd party launcher, i use this workaround
1. FNG
2. LADB + command "settings put global force_fsg_nav_bar 1". this to hide nav bar
however, need toapply the command after every reboot.

Reset the settings and restart the phone, then set up new gestures and delete the old ones. Now see if it works or else you should wait for a new update.
