hey if u have not got your phone fix yet.. we are in NYC you can sen us your phone we will fix it for you.. pm me for more info

Hey I live in Miami too and bricked my s3a little while ago. I searched all around but couldn't find one either. Just send it to mobiletechvideos.com, it's like $60. I got it back exactly a week from the day I shipped it. I did pay extra for the express return shipping though. I'd recommend just getting the extra $15 fit rush processing.

Cant find a phone

I live in sacramento california. All of the sprint retailers in the area are out of stock on the evo. Wirefly is 2-3 weeks out. Just curious to know if anyone has had any experience with waiting for sprint.com to re-stock. I cant find any info on the website that says when they will have more. Anyone have any info?

I'm in the East Bay.
Best Buy gets drop shipments every week. You should just put yourself on a waiting list so you don't just waste your time hoping that your local Sprint "might" have it in stock.
Good luck!
I just bought 2 from best buy in my area. I called the store and they told me what times they get shipments in. It took a couple of days but I was able to get 2. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the info. The BB near my house doesnt carry sprint phones in store. They said they offer sprint phones and services but only ship them to you. Just ordered 2 from wirefly. Ill wait very iimpatiently for the next month for them to get here. =]
well it will be that much more spectacular by the time you get it and root it. I am sure there will be a million more cool things you can do with the phone by then
The sprint stores here in Portland Oregon get them almost every week. When i was getting mine a couple weeks back, everywhere i called said they were 10+ people on the waiting list. So i just walked into a Sprint store and told them i'd buy one at that moment, and they gave me one.
Call the sprint store in rancho cordova on white rock and sunrise I'm sure you know where it is if you live in sac they get them 3 times a week they will call you when they come in cause its first come first serve that's where I got mine put my name on the list got called 3 hours later

no. i bad esn is reported and kept in a file by sprint and asurion, you wont be able to use it. your only hope is to use it on something like boost or cricket, or sell it/use it for parts. im sorry that happened. always best to meet at a local store, the employees can check esns right there, before you hand over any money
no flash to stock wouldn't help. you could try calling sprint explain the situation and ask why its bad. if its because of an unpaid bill they might reverse it for you. if its stolen there are only illegal methods which you have to find yourself.

Sorry to hear that happened OP. Years ago my friend bought a brand new, sealed Palm Treo off craigslist and found out it had a bad ESN when he brought it into Sprint. Turns out the package was stolen in the mail. It's not a good feeling. Next time use this site or check with Sprint before buying.

Glad I read this thread I didn't know about the esn stuff (I'm still new with Sprint) but it's a good thing to know about. I will have to keep that in mind if I ever look at grabbing a phone off of something like a 3rd party site when someone has already owned the phone.
I bought a treo off ebay wih a bad ESN. Turns out it was stolen althought the seller had some other story. I reported to the police and ebay and not only got my money back. The phone interestingly enough still had "mom's number" on it so I called mom and was able to get the phone returned to her daughter whom had it stolen from her stuff while in the pool. Doesnt Craigs list have some kind of safe guards for the peddling of stolen merchandise also?

NO craigslist is basically just the wanted ads from your newspaper online....cost nothing to post and sell that is why people use it vs Ebay who charges a fee

No safeguards.... But there's nothing stopping the purchaser from reporting the seller to the police if they discover the merchandise is stolen.

Every phone on every carrier has an ESN... At least the CDMA networks do. I *think* the GSM networks use the IMEI in a similar manner.
thats an awesome success story, money back and girl got phone back, only thing that could have made it better is if they caught the thief

I wish I could find one for around 75$ that's about all I'm budgeted for, I found this :

The have everything even the camera, but the prices everywhere are ridiculous.
bring it to a sprint store and agree to pay the 35 dollar fee and add insurance after wards and they will fix it for you if they have a spare one.
sprint techs are very helpful and usually fix cracked screen if person adds insurance.
i need to find a sprint store that has a technician first cause all the ones i have called say no also if i sign up for insurance can i cancel it the next month??
You probably could cancel it. I know down here a broken screen costs 30$ to fix with the sprint technician

I just replaced my screen 30 minutes ago. Bought a housing off Ebay for $80 and replaced it myself. You just need a #00 phillips screwdriver and a plastic prying tool.
I'm up in NorCal, if you were closer I'd do it for you just for the price of parts.

If you know somebody that works for sprint we can add insurance for you them just run the claim for $100, then cancel the insurance. I would recommend insurance tho.

Dont know anyone personally that works at sprint.
I called my Sprint Rep since my account is a Business account i got my phone last oct or nov 2011 and she said the only thing she could do is hook me up with an early upgrade and get the same phone for $120 but that doing this would extend my contract. Dont want to do that first i want to see whats up with Sprints network and phone line up for this year.
Anyone that works at sprint that is in my area hit me up pm or something.

I saw 10 of them when I was looking for my replacement. Here's one for $90 as a buy-it-now. http://goo.gl/OqJZj
They seem to come and go all the time, I would look and see 3-4 and then 3 hours later see 10 or so. 3 hours after that I would see only 2. I missed getting a white housing for $80 (just something to change up my phone).
-Daryel
here's the thing. any kind of super AMOLED screen (epics, epic touches, nexuses) are going to be extremely expensive. im actually a lead technician in a preferred retailer store and know for a fact that corporate stores will not fix shattered screens. plus, we are not allowed to exchange the phone for another due to the amount of physical damage. THE ONLY way we can fix those screens is if you yourself come into the store with the part, or we are able to find parts for cheap. because there is such a shortage of each screen from reputable 3rd party dealers, finding a store to fix it for you isn't going to really work. REALLY should have gotten insurance.
if i did have insurance how much would it have cost to getting this fixed?

They won't service the international phone. He has no warranty they're in no obligation to help.
OP, you may be able to contact Samsung US about buying the replacement part or paying for the work to be done, but you won't be getting free warranty work done by anyone.

I have the same problem as OP and am willing to pay. I've called multiple "authorized" Samsung repair centers where I live in Austin and none of them are willing to fix it. Like the OP, I called Samsung USA who referred me to Samsung UK. Both are unwilling to accept the phone for repair even though I'm willing to pay. Does anybody know of a repair shop that might do this type of work? At this point I'm willing to try anything to save from buying another GN.

Not to be rude, but it was 100% known at the time the phone came out that you wouldn't get a warranty with your purchase when buying grey market. Next time you want to buy an international phone, buy it from a reputable importer that will handle international warranty claims.
We shouldn't have to worry about this with the next Nexus, as it'll surely launch right from the start in the Play Store.
Its not that I was willing to pay for the repair it just they wasn't willing to help me at all ..beside the phone is made by Samsung money goes to one pocket..why not fix it and have me pay for the repair

Because you didn't buy it from Samsung US, you bought it grey market from someone else. You don't get a warranty from "Samsung", unfortunately. You only get a warranty from the area you bought it, assuming you bought it legitimately (no one importing did, technically).

I think the bigger problem here is not having anyone to help even if the customer is willing to pay. I am having an international phone too with many problems now but not a single person is willing to service it in America. If anyone could let me know of some service centres then that would be much appreciated.
There is actually one in florida that does it. PM a user named manbearpig, he has the name of the shop.

You mean...they wouldn't sell you the phone off contract? Like you couldn't buy it for $700 or whatever it costs? To buy the phone for $300 you MUST be in a 2 year contract....and your current contract must be expired or about to expire.

They get a commission on new activations and upgrades, so most likely no incentive to sell to you at full price. Not defending or condoning this sales tactic, but they also might have had limited stock and would prefer to sell to new activations or upgrades (spiffs and commissions, again being the incentive).
Sucks...i know.
They wouldnt sell it to me for $649.99

i had no problems, even activating it on my SERO acct. i was offered an "early" upgrade for $225 and then buy the phone at the reduced price. i didn't go for it since i want to be off contract asap. i don't like being on them if i can help it.
I've had this happen before most likely its not a corporate store. Other stores have there own policy's on who they sell too.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
buy it online, deny the store dbags commision
They call sell it to someone else who is a new or upgrading customer and get the stats and possible commissions involved. Business man. Sucks to be on the crappy side of it though, but if you were using an upgrade or a new customer you'd likely appreciate this policy. Probably just a "that" store thing, try another location.

I've often heard people say this. If yo are planning on leaving, then why even buy the phone. If you are otherwise happy with the service, why not sign a commitment and get the price reduction? It only makes sense. Besides you can buy out your contract ANY time. Also Sprint changes their TOS so often you can usually get out for free anyway. Not to mention excessive data roaming will get you kicked.

I just had the same thing happen, except I have two lines and they want $450.00 combined.
That plus the additional costs of the phones $600 seems too excessive to be enslaved for another 2 years.
To go with the threads theme....I went to buy the phone outright today so I call beforehand and ask if they have stock, yes, and more then a few. Once I show up I explain to the guy that i'm going to pay outright, and he goes into his spiel on the accessories. They love selling accessories, and how I need a 64GB card cause the phone will be slow after awhile without one, and that this comes with a stylus, which he goes to demonstrate (of course doesn't work due to the theft magnet) and says its only used for texting...yes. I tell him i'll just take the phone which he wasn't happy about.....But I was nice considering I can be a real prick at times, I admit.
So he disappears in the back for 5 minutes only to emerge and walk towards me, then turns around as if he forgot his lines, then turns to me and says they only had 2 (One was sold before I arrived) and 1 on a 24 hour hold, would I like his card to call tomorrow? I say no, it's apparent I was being lied to if not now then before I arrived and we will not be doing any business. In all fairness this store if always fully stocked with jerks and I rather go to the dentist then go into this place.
Thought the general policy is phones go to people on contract only for a few weeks, and then you're allowed to buy it outright. Granted policies can differ and it's generally the premium, in demand phones, but it favors people willing to commit. Suck it up or find a different place to buy. Most stores I know sold through, so if I have people willing to commit to a contract and get me a commission, I'd tell you to come back when I have a steady supply, policy or not.

Probably eBay..I'm in Tampa and wouldn't take the risk of walking up to a stranger with $700 in cash... End up in a stand your ground case or something.
Out of curiosity which store did you get them from? I'm going to try another store tomorrow with better luck hopefully.
If it wasn't a corporate store, I'd agree with James873. The non corp stores suck in my experience.

I do that kinda CL cash. Just meet in a mall. The you go your separate ways in the crowd. Never a parking lot. Could even do it at a sprint store. Not illegal to scalp phones.

Purchased each phone at a different Sprint Store, but the first was on North Dale Mabry, and the second was on West Kennedy, both stores are Corporate.
Also, check Gulf to Bay Sprint Corporate store, they had some too, but I just did not want to drive all the way out there for a white one, not the Titanium.
You should be able to score a Note II, between those three Corporate Stores.

excellent idea, would definitely be willing to meet at a Sprint Store or even a 3rd Party retailer in the shopping mall.
using that method, this weekend should be easy enough to get it out of the way.

Purchased each phone at a different Sprint Store, but the first was on North Dale Mabry, and the second was on West Kennedy, both stores are Corporate.

Yeah, douche bigalow from my story above was north dale, and when I got to Kennedy there was no lie like 20 people at the store and I didn't feel like waiting. I'm in the next town over tonight so I'll try the corp stores here. Good luck selling although not sure why you bought the phones if you didn't want them, and why not just return them.
Sorry op for the thread derail!

Yeah I probably will end up doing just that, and I thought it had wimax radio in it, as we have no LTE in Tampa.
Not sure how long we are looking at for it to show up here in Tampa?

A corporate store is a location that is actually "Sprint Store", rather than say, "Sprint by tCell" in the Shopping mall, which is a 3rd party retailer authorized to sell Sprint phones and Services.
