XDA Rocks

Hi Guys,
Just a quick note to give everyone on this forum a BIG thumbs up. I've been lurking around here for quite some time but only really got into it over the last week or so.
Just in the last 3 days I must have flashed my DHD a good 20 times and with all the advice and help available here it's getting really easy. I've gone from RUU to full on custom ROM's and I'm loving it.
I think I can honestly say that I have found my favorite pastime (next to riding my Super Bike *snicker*).
Anyhoooo, enough waffling from me.... another ROM just finished downloading so back to flashing *uncontrolled evil laugh*

Big thanks to all of those people who put in so much time and effort into the site and mods ,Xda tv & staff good accurate entertaining information.

This place is awesome. I spend alot of my free time on here now. It's a shame that the 1% of trollers and **** starters ruin it as much as they do.

Yes I too am hopped up on XDA still a rookie but rooted and overclocked you guys are the best

xsteven77x, I choose to simply ignore the trolls. I frequent quite a few forums and they are everywhere to be found. It's really not worth getting upset about. Smile and wave buddy, smile and wave!

I would just like to drop in and say THANK YOU to the xda community as a whole.
i am not overly knowledgeable about these things. and the people here have been such a huge help.
originally all i wanted was to optimize my new tablet when i got it (acer a501) did a lot of reading and decided i wanted to root witch was easy... but i hit a snag wile flashing from one rom to another.
and the help flowed in. fast and helpful responses. while i was freaking out thinking i bricked my new toy, my helpers were calm and on point, and got me thru it. and they had no problem taking the time to teach me things that i asked about. now im helping people with simple problems so the experienced people can take on the big jobs......until i learn
so THANK YOU to the devs, cooks, and all the knowledgeable people that make up the best forum on the net.

I'm going to second this one. I don't usually do florid thank-you posts, but I really do appreciate the work going on here. xda gave my phone a second chance at life; WinMo sucked battery life and performance, but with GBX0B my phone feels like it's at least a year newer.

I want to say thanks as well. I discovered this site through a friend. I came here, read through on how to properly install rom and then downloaded a rom and it worked So yes I am on my way. I am not completely new to the Android world but when you deviate you tend to forget things. This site is bringing it all back to memory and helping me discover new things.

I would like also to show my appreciation to this forum and for the many people that support it and it's users.
It is been great on my side and greatly helpful.

I too would like to send out a HUGE thank you to all in the xda community for the compounding wealth of knowledge and experiences within.
It's taken me a little while to get where I am today, but like all things... persistance pays... but could definately not have gotten there without you all.

Thanks so much for all the help! This forum honestly made it really easy to start rooting and flashing. I remember getting my first android phone this year and boy was it difficult figuring out what everything meant at first... Thanks for keeping my G2x alive and well

A Thank You to all the Devs

Hey Devs & Helpers out there,
Just wanted to write a thank you to all the hard work you put in, gratis, for our device.
I cannot overstate how fantastic it is to have a wide selection of roms for our phone, as it gives the user so many options and things to look forward to in terms of updates, functionality, battery life, etc - the list goes on and on.
It's really made this website a haven, as well as an addiction for myself, and has also made my phone usage (and distractions at the office!) go through the roof. Whenever I use my phone in public, on the subway or whatever, I'm hoping there is another user out there who realizes the graphics / interface on my phone is unique, and can inspire them to "achieve" the same. Perhaps I'll even try to do a little programming myself at some point (although my CS101 class in college was probably one of my biggest challenges - and that's for an ME!)
Once again, best regards and much thanks to those hard working devs out there, who deserve nothing but our gratitude and support. Don't thank this post, thank all the devs who put in time day in and day out. Keep on truckin'!

Agreed. I was late to the game with smartphones...buying my DInc2 last July was my first. I was going to wait to root after my warranty was over, but after rooting my wife's nook color, I ventured over to this forum to see what was going on for my phone. Needless to say, it was probably two weeks after browsing this forum that I started enjoying what the hardworking devs have been up to.
I also wouldn't mind venturing into the development aspect of Android but my wife would kill me if I spent even more time on my phone.

I couldn't have said it any better, thanks all you devs and themers for all your hard work

Here here!! Another huge thanks to all the devs out there using their personal time to make our phones (and everyone else's for that matter) well worth keeping! There's been plenty of times I wanted to tell a dev how awesome their Rom was but it's taken me some time to get past this 10 post rule. Lol.

haha, I know exactly what you mean. I'm more a lurker than a poster here, but i'm finding myself wanting to mention bugs or issues i'm having with some of the newer builds. That dang 10 comment rule!

Hi all,
You may or may not know me. I'm kind of a recluse (post when there's stuff that needs to be said). I've been a part of the E4GT since day one. The E4GT community is one that can be summed up in two words: Dastardly Fantastic. I'm going to name drop some people here whom I have much respect for and will miss dearly.
chris41g: You've become a good friend and I greatly enjoy reading your horrible auto posts on twitter. It was you that helped me learn the ins and outs of the E4GT. Even when you put a ; in the wrong place in the first CWM build for our phone.
ninpo, cnz(roadragen), bubby323: none of you are still around (these forums) but it was a pleasure working with you. If it wasn't for this group of people we wouldn't have pulled the original initframs off of my phone and compiled a zImage for people to restore back to stock. Regardless, ninpo you're the man, cnz your a narcasistic prick ******* and I do miss you on IRC harassing everyone. As for Bubby you copy cat kanger, I hope you aren't allowed to own another android phone.

T.C.P.: You've been a real help and not just to me. Your outgoing attitude is what makes these communities thrive.
Team Venum/Blu Kuban/Calkulin/etc.: All you devs that are willing to work together. Even of I don't know of you personally... keep it strong.
So many more experiences and people to mention... if I've forgotten you don't take it personal we just probably weren't all that close.
Everyone on #ics-dev-e4gt and #jb-dev-e4gt theze channels won't go away. I'm still going to be there talking to you all.
Sucks I have to go all the way to Verizon but I hope to bump into you all sometime... who knows maybe you will brick and end up with my refurb as a refurb.

hope you kept the e4gt for some more testing.. you flashed some of my 4:30am builds with misspellings because i was so tired from sleep-coding... but in the end, it always got done.. Half of my **** (and all of bubbys) wouldnt have got done if it wasnt for you and my testers like you... keep in touch..

Always man! Sadly, as part of the deal to get out of my contract ETF free I had to send my phones back to sprint. I will, however, be a member of the IRC channels and will be there to bug you still!

[links]★HOW I LEARNED HOW TO BUILD MY JDEVIL ROMS★

Note# I will first off state that I want to be a dev (Like Nunhugger) one day. So I read and learn as much as I can. I get comments and inboxes from people saying they wish they knew how to make a custom rom. Lets get to some real talk. I am an uneducated man. I have no diploma or degree and I was able to compile my own series of Roms. 4 years ago the terms widgit, live wall paper, Linux, Ubuntu, toggles, etc was foreign to me. TIGERZ0202 introduced me to ANDROID and I had a Blackberry and didn't have a clue how to even work it. So don't tell me you can't build your own ROM. If I can you can. These are the guides that led me to where I am today. It takes time it takes patience. It took me months of bricking my phone as you have to test your own work. I soft bricked my phone over 40 times and finally hard bricked it and had to get another due to my lack of knowledge and trial and error.But I was determined I was going to do this. So here are some links that taught me. I'll add many from week to week. There are many people from noobs to veterans on this site. There are many young users such as my son who is 10. But knows how to flash a rom because he was taught and has an interest. Many kids such as my son just don't do a search of the forums (young child, lack of knowledge) If you are not willing to study out of the links I provide you are wasting your time. I do bodybuilding shows from time to time and its just like this YOU HAVE TO BE DETERMINED!!!! YOU HAVE TO WANT IT AND READ !!!! JUST GET FOCUSED AND DO IT MY FELLOW XDA MEMBERS:thumbup: Hope these links will lead to some new Roms out there for the greater good .

There are tons of info for you guys. All questions just go to the links and ask them. They are all very supportive. I hope someone cooks up something sweet soon. These are the guides that taught me what I know. If you learn them as I did you on the way!
