Sorry if this is the wrong place for this post, seemed like the most sensible spot. I used to be involved in OS development back when 2.2 was brand new and shiny. I forget most of what I did, then.
I am looking for someone who would be making a Galaxy Nexus ROM (_obviously_). I know I have to be running a Linux distro (Will be using Ubuntu) and know how to install/configure/use Ubuntu/terminal. I'm also very technologically inclined, and learn very quickly. I am also willing to simply study before and after files, note the effects, and learn that way.
There's not a whole lot I won't do, and there's a whole lot I can be/am good for. I also have many contacts from the old Liquid E days that would be able to help with any potential issues that arise as well.
Thank you in advance,
Matthew/Harness.

Hi everyone,
i have a nexus before, and i rooted it, somehow my phone couldn't power on at all(something like OMAP 4440)! Then i claimed my warranty, i got a brand new nexus now...
question is: if i want to root my device will it dead again?
sorry for my bad English! And thank you for reading!
No...it won't dead if you root
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
if you can't answer this question on your own - I don't think that you should be rooting your phone..

If he isn't capable of using the insanely easy to use search then he probably shouldn't be messing with his phone.

I don't think that posting a thread titled Rooting! is going to be the starting point of the OP's rooting/android knowledge. He needs to read a LOT more and then he wouldn't have the need to ask questions like this.

Is it possible to install window phone 8 to galaxy nexus? please advise. thanks,
Just want to try different OS in my device, don't want to waste money to buy wp8 yet.
But why HTC HD2 can install android and then can install wp 7 and even wp8? anyone have the answers? anyway, Thanks for comments.
I was going to make a smartass comment, but I couldn't think of anything. So no. You can't.
Lol

And i think it will never be possible since is closed source and no driver are available... but, why the heck put wp8 on the magnificent GNeX with JB 4.2.1? It's nonsense imho...

what crawled up your @$$ to come up with a question like that??? No offence...but that's exactly the way the questioned framed in my mind!
Instead of doing something not properly on its device and most likely you will found difficulties..I suggest you get a wp8 phone and have fun with it

why didnt you just buy a windows phone instead of getting the gnex if you wanted the phone to run wp8? and there are no wp8 roms for the gnex but you can try using this theme

Who gives a ****, poster 1 answered OP's question, that's the end of it.
And half of you know you'd install WP8 on your GalNex if you could, if only because you could, so don't give him the "what are you, retarded?" ****. I think he knows he can buy a phone with Windows on it.

nothing to see here, move along
Instead of posting stupid answers, isn't it better not to answer at all? The guy wanted to know if it was just possible. After all the HD2 did it well so whynot the GNex? The fist poster answered back and was quite precise (more or less, I don't know) but I think the following posts are useless.
Download launcher 8 from the play store. Closest thing I've found if you want something similar. With a little work you can actually make it look really similar to wp8. There's some nice mms and phone apps you can find as well with a little searching.
If it is possible he asked... I don't mind running wp8 on my gnex either. I use windows 8 and Linux on PC. Just want to play a lil bit.

So, when you say "Clone" it begs the question, is it a genuine Galaxy Note 2 N7102, or a cheap knockoff?
If it is the latter, the advice you may get here almost certainly won't apply!

I guess, he has HDC Galaxy Note 2 GT N7102, what is not Samsung product... dual core 1.2ghz, qhd, 5.4", $185... a real note 2 costs about $500
Well, sorry but you won't get answer here... I read now, this device is banned in EU and US/Canada
Plz accept my question

I Know that i am in the Wrong section but the reason that let me post here:
1-That you solve some problems and i know that
2-That my clone is not almaal74 said its tipically like original note 2:1.6 ghz,2 gb ram and 4.1 android phone
So i know you can slove it because its like note 2 in android so the same problem is here that when i changed a boot animation and deleted the stock it goes black screen and then starts up
I Know that i am in the wrong section but plz help me
NOTE:It costs $230 not $185

If it is using a Samsung ROM, simply flash a stock ROM over the top using Odin.

Try the files from the thread from Android development.

When I had this problem it was due to the kernel not being custom boot animation compatible. The N7100 logo would show then flicker and stay blank until it was finished loading. Have you tried a different kernel to see if this is the problem?

I suggest that the OP either has one of these, or something very like it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmaveOD6jP0&feature=youtu.be
I specifically picked this video because you can clearly see that the "S-Pen" is not an S-Pen at all, but a regular capacitive stylus.
OP - assuming this is the case, if you want help with a generic device like this, your best bet would be to search out thread relating to MT6589 based devices, as you're far more likely to find someone with knowledge of this device because it quite simply isn't a Galaxy Note 2.

Dave

how to do it?
No it doesn't have the same processor!
It will almost certainly have a Mediatek MT6589, which isn't a bad processor by all accounts, but it is *not* an Exynos and therefore flashing a ROM from a real Note 2 may end up bricking your device - especially if it also flashes the modem or bootloader.
My previous advice stands - seek out a forum for MT6589 based devices, because flashing anything from a genuine Note 2 will likely cause you far more problems than it solves.

Dave

I don't have a link!
Search XDA for MT6589 and see what turns up. Failing that, post in the general Android forum because you stand far more of a chance finding someone who knows something about your device.
