I wondered why my phone was dying so fast today. I turned on WiFi and it updated something. It didn't do any JB installation or anything. It just updated network services.

I think its telling you to update your software. Go under system updates and click on the bottom one. See if that works.

You may have updated by accident. In " About phone" what version does it say,?
Edit. I just noticed the fonts you have. It may have tried to update, but failed.

So the font could be the cause of it not updating?

Oh and I'm not rooted or anything. Fully stock.

No its the with the new update comes a new font so once he saw your old fault he realized you hadn't updated. I would clear your Google services (settings>apps>Google services > clear)
Restart your phone then redo the clear then check for update again

So far i've noticed a few things..
- Saved WiFi's are forgotten on reboot.
- g talk wont receive messages on wifi only. Need Data on at all times.
Bell needs to fix these things ASAP

Or get the Korean version thats flawless

I am on Bell using the 973 and don't have any problem with the wifi and never have, so just an fyi to people that its not like that issue is across the board for everyone with this handset.
And op its not for bell to fix its for lg to fix..
For the record, I had the Wi-Fi forget issue for a few weeks and then one day it suddenly stopped.
Try forgetting the network, then reboot. That's what I did, but I can't say if that was the solution.
My OG had this issue, but after downgrading to 10f so i can root, fixed it, even upgrading back to 10h.

Directly from the thread
"NOTE: THIS IS A SYSTEM APPLICATION, NOT A USER APP! Do not try to install like a normal user app. It must be flashed to system/app"
Install is by placing it in System/app with a program like root explorer
I did that. Its a .zip I flashed in recovery, pulled the APk out and put it in system/app and fixed permissions. But the app will not show up after returning from recovery

I'm sure it relies on specific framework and stuff it wasn't meant as a standalone app

another thing that you have to understand is that some nexus codes vary from other phones.
I was hoping it was universal

Does this work on your phones? I've always used the stock camera on this phone for instagram, but with the new video update I switched over to the instagram advanced camera and it doesn't work. I got on my wife's phone and checked out hers since she didn't upgrade instagram yet and the camera also doesn't work on hers. I have Lifeless v14 on hers right now and I'm currently running Vectus.
I just tried my instagram camera I'm running beanstalk and it doesn't open.

I just downloaded the newest version on my phone, running Stock OTA JB-rooted, nothing else and it seems to work just fine on mine just fyi. Must be something missing in the custom ROMs or they just aren't playing nice together lol.
Doesn't work on Slim Venom rom. I would like to know what other roms would work with Instagram.
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda premium
As a temp fix you can go to developer options and disable hw overlays but you'll have to do it every reset. If I remember correctly pimp my ROM has an option to permanently disable it but I'll check Ok that later tonight

I'm now on rootbox, and this method isn't working for me. It does work on my wife's phone, she is using Lifeless.
It opens but it lags and once it pops up I get an error stating "cannot connect to camera" and force closes.
***Edit*** It works perfectly on Spleef's AOKP

How you get it?
I'm still waiting it on my phone.. It's an Android update or an application that i have to download in Google Play ?
I have the LG E988 16GB Too
Google will push this to your phone, every android phone will have it.
If Google has pushed it to your phone, you will find it in the System Settings > Security.

Ok I found it and went on play to manage the device, keep saying it can't locate the device. Does GPS have to be on? Probably drain battery if it does require to be on.

I get the same issue although all options are checked. Not able to localisate or ring :crying:
Well!
With billions of Android phones, it might just take a while (a day or 2) before your device is registered with Google servers...:silly:
Here is some very helpful information from Google on how to get device manager working - https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/3265955?hl=en&ref_topic=3100928
Click link and scroll almost all the way down past the 2nd yellow box and follow the instructions. I did this and my phone was discovered and registered in no time

I was scrolling through my apps looking for things to disable and I saw something interesting...there's something that says, "Qslide framework". What's up with that? Because as far as I know, we don't have qslide apps on the sprint OG.

The Q slide feature for our phone is a little different than the one for the G Pro... Check this out to see how it works:
