ported roms? - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

There doesn't seem to be more than one or two roms for the verizon n2 so I have to ask a somewhat silly question- is there a way to port or use roms posted here? I came from the S3 and there are tons there but was shocked to find low support for the n2 until I saw the many roms in this forum. Of course it was impossible to mix carriers on the S3, so are these roms strictly for the ww version or what?

Comparing cooked ROMS

havent been on these boards in years. got an att tilt, donated, downloaded, and never looked back. looking into getting the HTC Touch HD (Telstra version) and I keep reading how that stock ROM sucks and it'd be best flash a new ROM. that is something I havent done before so I've been to the wiki page of the phone and began reading. My only question is there are tons or ROMS out there but where can you compare the differences in them? I'm leaning towards one of Dutty's ROMs only because back when I cruised these boards heavy, his name was always being praised but I've never used his ROMS so it'd be all out of familiarity.

Not Enough N7105 Custom ROMs chefs?

Hi guys,
I'm posting this again because my username have been changed, and I think the original thread is lost of because of that
(or unless this thread is not meant to be in this section of the forum, Dear Mods, do help me move it accordingly..Thanks!!)
Here's the previous text:
Just wondering, why are there so few custom ROMS for the N7105 (Note II LTE), while there are so many N7100 ones that span across so many pages??
Is it because we do not have enough N7105 users or the N7100 will someday be ported over ??
I've given up hope. I really don't think the devs are interested in our model
I was about to buy a n7105 tomorrow hope they do port over to the LTE model
Oh man, Check It Out!! There are already 4.1.2 N7100 ROMs ..
Really wish N7105 will be as popular (or widely available) someday ..
or at least we get some good ones ported over
The guys behind CyanogenMod have been working hard to get CM 10.1 (based on the Android 4.2 branch) on as many devices as possible. Now, the first builds are available for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 LTE.

question

Sorry for the newbi like question but are the at&t galaxy s2 sgh-i777 ROMs compatible with our t989? Just wondering because I like a few ROMs that were created for that phone like the shostock ROM with the note 2 features. If not is there a way that one could be ported?
I mean if you want to brick your phone then go ahead, but i advise you to not
btw nothing is impossible so it might be possible to port those roms but they are specifically built for those devices so you answer is no

General Samsung Galaxy Questions. Please Help.

Hello guys, I am looking to buy the new Galaxy S4 and I have a few questions regarding how Samsung devices generally work. I figured I'd ask on this forum because of how popular and well respected this device is. If anyone could answer just one of the following questions, I would GREATLY appreciate it. Thanks!
1) Developer support: This is a biggie. I love custom ROMs, AOSP, Kernels, all the works. I noticed that the S3 is split up to multiple different forums based on carriers. Does this split harm the development community? Are some devices more support than others? Could you flash ROMs or kernels from different carriers or are you guys strictly locked to the T-Mobile forums?
2) Reason for the split: Just curious, why exactly is each device separate? Do they each honestly have different radios bands / hardware that makes them completely different? On my One S we could flash ROMs / kernels / radios based on either carrier or international with no issue either way; we also have just one forum.
3) Headphones: Coming from many HTC devices, I never had issues with headphone controls (play/pause, answer/hangup, mic, next/previous). Do Samsung devices fully support headphone controls and mic? I have a pair of Beats with controlTalk optimized for iCraps; they work well on my current device and was wondering the probability them working on the new one.
The reason why I ask here and not on the S4 forums is because no one has an S4 or any real knowledge of that device, WHAT SO EVER. You guys have the device and are sane! Thanks again!

1. Generally, yes. But, doesn't seem have affected the S3. Many of the ROMs are supported either by dev(or team) making multiple ROMs, one ROM that supports all, or AROMA installer to choose.
Could you flash other ROMs, kernels, etc? Depends. Some, yes you can straight up flash it. Others, absolutely not. Others, you may have to tweek the build prop BEFORE it's flashed. T-Mobile and AT&T ROMs are usually the two that can. But, you need to find out if it can. Most ROMs will say other carrier support in their name.
2. Different radios, this, that, carrier specific goodies. But, mainly to help with organization.
3. Yes.

Stock Roms

I will be doing this thread soon for all the carriers roms for the Galaxy s4. I think it would be best if I combine all my s4 rom threads to one...just stock roms all the way from this point on.

(STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION)
This needs to happen. I have many people still looking for Vision X for Verizon, TMO also, so, I will just build stock roms for all these carriers....
We do not need development dropping off from this device for awhile, I will do my part to keep it rolling here....
It will only list the most current roms for the devices, so out with old, in with new, that will be the process....
