[Q] Do I have LJC? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

I am interested in getting all the apps into multi window. The FAQ linked me to this thread. The first instruction is to odin into LJC, which I think is the stock ROM. I still have the same ROM which came with my phone, but I have rooted using the Note II toolkit. I see LK8 and LJC on the forums all the time, but I don't understand the differences and why I have to use certain ones for certain things. I found this thread which did not explain much. Basically, I don't know what ROM I have. The end goal of the first thread I linked is to get the LK8 ROM on my phone. Is that basically a stock ROM?
Notes:
Android V 4.1.2

U can find out by going to settings, about phone and look at your build number. That is what rom u are on. The phone shipped with lj1 and then the ota was ljc and the most recent ota is ma7. Lk8 was just a leak. If u want all the apps in multi windows mod u have to be on a deodexed rom. If you are completely stock then u are not and cannot flash tje mod until you are.
Best thing for u to do is flash tje deodexed rom on this page

I have LJ1. Would I download the older version, and I'm assuming I do this in TWRP right?

Never mind. Now I can finally flash roms.

Thank you very much for your help. I've found that I'm on MA7. There are 6 different downloads. I understand the difference in the first two downloads–
odexed vs deadened. But what are the other four downloads? Is there one most appropriate for me?
Thanks

The third link is the all in one that is the ma7 modem and other components of ma7. The 4 link is just the modem itself and the last 2 are kernels. If u took the ota to ma7 then no u don't need any of the modem or other components. If u want the all apps for multi windows u will have to flash the second link that is the ma7 deodexed rom. U have to be on a deodexed rom for the mod to work. Let me know if u have any more questions

I read I do not need to do a factory reset through TWRP (wipe->factory reset) if I am flashing a customized stock ROM. Is that true?

And if everything needs to be completely stock, do I need to un-root?

[PATCH] *** N7105 AT&T and VZN ROMs on your SPH-L900 *** [N7100 works for ADV Users]
DISCLAIMER: I am not responsible for anything that happens to your phone. You brick it, you fix it!
This is a combination of work from scrosler and myself. I saw where Scott did this for the VZN GN2 and I modified it to work with the Sprint (SPH-L900) GN2 phones. With this modification your are able to flash N7105 ,AT&T (SGH-I317) and Verizon (SCH-I605) Roms to your phone. Both of those rom bases are confirmed working. Please make sure you do not flash modems/radios for the above listed devices. N7100 INT roms can be flashed using this method ONLY AFTER they have been ported to the N7105/i317 following madmack's guide in this thread. I can confirm that a port I just did of a N7100 rom works as well.
First download the SPH-L900 patch from HEREhttp://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390248398092764671
Download a stock SPH-L900 kernel from the bottom of this thread -- Perseus kernels work as well, found HERE
Choose a N7105, SGH-i317 or SCH-I605 rom that does not install modems/radios - The Swedish N7105XXDLL1 4.1.2 stock rooted base can be found HERE
Follow the steps to flash below:
Reboot into recovery
Make a full backup
Perform a complete wipe (cache, dalvik, factory reset, system) in TWRP
Flash the N7105 or SCH-I605 ROM you downloaded
Flash the SPR_GN2_Config zip file
Flash the Stock or Perseus kernel
Wipe Dalvik/Cache
Reboot System
If you happen to do exactly what I told you not to and flashed a rom that installed a modem/radio and you no longer can get signal, if you didn't brick it and can still boot into download mode, you will need THIS FILE to flash in ODIN to restore factory SPH-L900 specs.
WARNING: Data may or may not work if you do not change the mount point for the DATA partition to the correct one in the updater-script!
.
Holy crap. Nice. The Galaxy Note 2 is truly universal. Thanks for this.

It didnt work with the MIUI they have on ATT. ROM installed fine, but no data. I did the procedure in the OP step by step.
Possible cause - I think that even thought it is Touchwiz based, it uses MIUI base phone and framework (I am the one who got data to work on the port by lbx_mobbin_1 by tweaking the framework)

The zip replaces all the csc data with sprints....thats the main difference on these phones. Other than that, they are mostly the same. I have flashed a lot of crap on it from other carriers, so not too worried anymore.

Just wondering if there is any advantages over the [ROM][STOCK][4.1.2][T889] XXDLL7 from 1/9?

For the most part, this is just a stock ROM of what came out today from Samsung to fix the Exynos security bug. If you are currently using the 4.1.2 ROM, I'd suggest sticking with it as this ROM would be a fall back really.

So if this release is only made to fix the exynos exploit which allows apps to gain root access without permission, which cant happen if you are rooted with SU correct? Just dont feel like having to debloat and flash mods again if its really not worth the effort.

Exynos exploit is a kernel exploit. Nothing to do with being rooted or having su. Only way you can be safe is having a custom kernel which has the exploit fixed or by using this rom.

Always thought flashing different modems/radios from other variants were not a good idea.
The stock kernel that comes with the GE rom works on our TMo variants and aside from that I've had LTE working on GE as well.

I downloaded the deodexed version but am hesitant to flash. Has anyone flashed the deodexed version? Does it install with no issues using CWM, does it break root (I read in other forums this happened to people), does it play nicely with supersu? Are there really any differences from Android 4.2.2? I am just curious if anyone has any feedback on the rom. Thanks.

Could I flash a Odex 4.3 ROM over DeOdex 4.3?

I want to know could I flash over android 4.3 Odex version over Deodex 4.3 without having to wipe?
No, as you see they're different so do a full wipe even though they're the same rom and version etc.. But one has other stuff put into it that will give it more battery life and performance while the other one is more customisable... Look for the difference between Odex and Deodex version and ull see what I'm talking about

Yes. Just make sure you wrote system. For the general user, odexed ROM should be the choice. Deodex is for theming and other customizations. Basically, instead of deodexing, theming, then odexing, deodex is ready for customization.
Odexed system apps are optimized, meaning they are frequently used apps and are preloaded upon boot.
Hope my little class helped you understand the difference.

[Q] Downgrade from 4.3 to 4.2.1?

as far i can see, and you witnesed first hand, the knox stuff remains logged there and you cat do anything about it....i suggest stop trying to downgrade before smth bad happens (knock on wood).....and just wait for a 4.3 custom rom, that comes with its own files to download and flash
I have a similar question that probably no one asked before, as I couldn't find any similar thread.
I have a back up rom of rooted 4.1.2 stock rom, which back up by Philz Touch.
Once I flashed 4.3 custom rom, is it safe to restore my 4.1.2 rooted stock rom backup from the 4.3 custom rom? Another question is, once I flashed any 4.3 custom rom, can I flash 4.1.2 custom roms from after that without any problem?
To make things clear, I will never go back original, unrooted 4.1.2 stock rom or try to flash a original unrooted 4.3 stock rom.
I sincerely hope someone can explain to me, because I dare not to try to flash any 4.3 custom rom until now.

as far i can see, and you witnesed first hand, the knox stuff remains logged there and you cat do anything about it....i suggest stop trying to downgrade before smth bad happens (knock on wood).....and just wait for a 4.3 custom rom, that comes with its own files to download and flash
