[Q] HTC DHD 4.2.2R8 drain battery so much

Hi everyone!
I'm using JellyTime 4.2.2R8 on my DHD.
It's working fast but battery drain so much.
Ex: I only view screen, scroll something. Everage 1 minute, battery degree 1-2%
Who can help optimize this problem?, thanks!

Hi,
I installed JellyTime R8 on Monday evening, and I haven't experienced such a battery drain so far, it goes down a bit faster than my stock Gingerbread+Sense ROM. I might have other stats issues (wrong "on battery" duration, charge stuck at 90%...), but no drain so far.
I am not well experienced in flashing ROMs and how to solve problems, but I have seen lots of people advising to flash the battery stats and recalibrate. But you need a few complete charge/discharge cycles to make it work properly. (But according to a few other people, it's a kind of religious belief too...)
You can also install a more precise battery stats app. I saw a more detailed message in Jellytime Dev thread (in one of the last pages). If I find it again, I let you know.

I cannot find again the thread/post where I saw this information, but the application some people advise to use is BetterBatteryStats.
To give you a counter example: since I flashed JellyTime R8 (Monday 20th Mai, 23h GMT+1), I fully charged my phone only twice.
The first discharge took almost a day (but I used it a lot, configuring and playing with the new features).
The second discharge started 33 hours ago and I still have 50% as we speak. Maybe the stats are wrong, but the phone is still ON after 33hours. I'll let you know how long it lasts.
I am on GSM roaming all day long, but my phone stays most of the time in standby mode.
A few things that I've done to optimize the battery life:
- remove the constant location-tracking, both GPS and 3G (especially as GPS is not working since I flashed JT R8);
- remove permanent/auto 3G connection, as I am spending all the day abroad, it is useless to keep 3G activated, without data roaming on.
Go in Settings/location and switch the toggle off.
Go in Settings, expand Wireless and Networks (Plus), then Mobile Networks and untick the first box (my ROM is in french so I am not 100% sure of the translation, it might be something like Activate Data)

Thanks Matth59 !
I toggled off some setting in phone (GPS, MobileData, effect screen, animation, turn off notification some app...)
But but it does not improve the problem of battery.
I charged full battery, after 24minutes
Saw status of battery on 24m19s, (95%)
Screen 70% (I set bright of screen about 20-30%)
Cell standby 6%
Android system 5%
Phone idle 5%
Wifi 3%
Facebook 3%
Android OS 2%
Media server 2%

And how long does it usually take for it to be discharged?
The second time I charged it, it said that charge was complete and stopped charging at 90%, and I got the impression that it reached that level quite fast. But the device is still on, after 38 hours.
I hope somebody with more experience in that field can give you a better advice or more information, than just flashing the battery stats and recalibrate it.
After one week of using R8, this is how battery is going for me.
On standby, it can last as long as it used to with the stock Sense + Gingerbread ROM (or even a bit more, but maybe because I haven't reinstalled all my apps).
When using the phone, battery life is going down quite fast, and I am not sure if it can last more than 1 day of normal use (3g, mails, messages, calls...).
The most battery consuming task is the screen. It makes me wonder if it could be related to the feature that was introduced by Google since JellyBean 4.1: Project Butter, which makes everything smooth in Android.

Huge battery drain overnight (all off) with JB 4.3

Almost 15% of battery drain overnight in 9 hours, with 3G, WIFI and SYNC off, only 2G active.
Yesterday I had 20% of battery drain.
Can please someone help by having a look at the better battery Stats screenshots?
thanks

I don't know if you're Maguro or Toro, but you need to have a data connection or this phone will chug battery. This phone is notorious for chugging through battery when looking for a data connection.
1st time I ever read this...
I have Maguro
left it with wifi and 3g on tonite and list 22%
no one else?
Might be helpful if you name your ROM, kernel and carrier. I have a Maguro with JellyBeer and the newest Golden Kernel of today (with some Trickster mod changes) and only getting like max 5% drain a night.
Edit;
I see it in your sig, so stock 4.3 ROM? I am on 4.2.2 so can't really compare it. Are you in a bad connection zone there? Any unnecesary apps running?

yes, stock 4.3, very good 2G signal, no apps running in background (well I have facebook, but not messenger, and all google apps, of which i use only gmail, gmap and gcalendar, g+ is not connected, still at night sync is off).
if you have a look at the three screenshot on my first post, you will see the servioces causing wakelocks
If you look, the 1 and 2 screenshot didn't influence a lot on battery.. It looks high, but if you pay attention, it's draining 0.9%..1% so, not the beest battery life, but "normal". If you pay attention now on "deepsleep" screenshot, you will see that it drained most of the battery during the night.. So, my conclusion? Maybe some problematic gapps , trying to connect to some server to sync even with sync off, try another gapps. Second option : flash another kernel, it could be caused by kernel keeping the phone awake even when it's trying to deepsleep
Edit : almost forgot.. You could try to connect to wifi, and leave the phone for some hours with sync enabled.. It would sync what the phone tries to sync and fails during the night.. Sounds crazy, but solved my problem once!
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
with wifi on it drained 22% in 7 hours
besides... I not sure how u r reading the screenshot but the one for "other" simply says that of the total monitored time of 9h 14m 54s the phone was in deep sleep for the 96.2% of the time

[Warning] Keep you GPS on if using kitkat rom with pa gapps

Well, I disabled GPS for a while and left my phone with 80 percent charge. After 3.5 hrs I checked the phone because i wanted to call my friend. Battery was drained to 35%. I was wondering what could have happened. My battery is brand new and original. Then i checked battery usage. I noticed that the process "Google Play Services" drained the battery. I think disabling GPS does something funny to the wakelock of the process and keeps using the CPU all the time.
It has been already fixed in the last build
please check this link
user dec0der was finding the solution for bug,

ZE 551ML battery drain since a few days

As my title suggests, the phone was working fine until a few days ago (the battery drops by 1% at every 2 hours normally), when it suddenly started dropping by 4% each hour.
I tried everything I could think of: restarted the phone, wiped storage cache, formatted recovery cache, checked for drain applications, turned it off and charged it like that and left it there for a few hours, restored google play to factory settings and updated it again (first tried to reset google play services just to make sure that isn't the problem, but the phone wouldn't let me). I have no idea what to try anymore.
Anyone has any idea regarding this?
Please provide more details, what firmware are you on? Which ROM are you using if any?

Could you please post a screenshot of your battery usage? And please try using a different charger. I've noticed that my phone gives me more battery power on a low voltage charger.

I will do so when I'll have the chance, I recharged the phone overnight and I unplugged it 2 hours ago. I tested these days all kind of different networks (2G/3G/4G) and WiFi on and off. I left the phone with Wi-Fi off and only 2G. Now when I checked it after 2 hours, I see that it's at 99%, as it's supposed to be normally, 1% per 2 hours discharge. Now I've re-enabled WiFi and I'll see if it starts dropping as fast as before or not. After that I'll re-enable 3G (that's on what I'm usually using my phone) and turn Wi-Fi off and see if it starts dropping normally. I wanna see if for one reason or another, Wi-Fi might be the issue.
Normally,the phone drops 1% per 2 hours with 3G and Wi-Fi enabled.
If this I won't get any result or conclusion from this, then I'll post a screenshot.
Once try safemod.

Okay so it really seems that Wi-Fi might be the issue. While my phone had Wi-Fi on and 2G, it dropped like crazy again. After i disabled Wi-Fi, I also moved the phone back to 3G and there was only 2% drain in like 6 hours. Now I re-enabled the Wi-Fi and trying again...but it seems that indeed Wi-Fi is consuming the battery for an unknown reasons. I've always kept Wi-Fi on before and it didn't drain battery.

It's off
And after leaving Wi-Fi on and getting a huge battery drain...and after a while turning it off and the drain stopping, I can confirm that the problem is somehow Wi-Fi related.
Screenshots attached.
As you can see, when Wi-Fi was on, the battery drained faster, when it was off, it went down a lot slower. The cell networks doesn't look too good but I can confirm that on 2G, where I have green cell network in the battery usage, with Wi-Fi enabled, it drops at the same rate.

Battery Draining by Android OS

Hey all, I've had this phone for a while now and I've been loving the performance and the battery life.
But since yesterday a problem came up. Normally i get around 8-11 hours of Screen on time. Now some "Android OS" is draining the battery real fast like it's cutting it down to 5 hours screen on time with the same amount of usage.
I've tried closing the apps, doesn't seem to fix the problem.
Just to back up the post, Its not android system. That's different and it doesn't consume battery this much. It's something called "Android OS" and its running continuously off screen as well.
It's also using a lot of RAM :/

No xD i fixed it deleted all the apps. Didn't know which one was problematic but it seems to have fixed the problem. I'm actually getting double battery life now xD
My poor MZP has suddenly started showing a dramatic drop in performance and battery life. I suspect this is because of Magisto which had a setting that automatically uploads videos / photos to create movies. I've disabled this now and hope to see an improvement.
I've also deleted all apps that were very aggressive with notifications - The Domino's India app was the worst offender.
Hopefully this will make a difference.
