Essentially, this: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=17337
I have searched all around but I can't find anything that applies to stock android, that's why I'm posting this here. I am not deaf in one ear, like a lot of people looking for this feature. I just have a single speaker in my bathroom to listen to music when I'm in there and so it only plays the right ear and I would really like to find some way to force all audio to be in mono. If it's root-only that's okay!
I really appreciate anyone's guidance!

Ok, so I've searched the forum about the speaker quality on the TP2. After playing around with my TP2, I can say that I am impressed with the volume/quality when comparing it to my Kaiser. BUT, the design is a bit flawed when using the phone tilted for watching videos, as mentioned in this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=520823
This makes me wonder if there could be a potential hack for the in-call ear speaker, because it's actually very good in quality - much better than the Kaiser. I'm wondering if it can be hacked to be used at a boosted volume when playing back media, thus utilising all 3 speakers on the phone and giving an all-angle audio extravaganza! My old C550 shared the ear speaker as the external speaker, so I'm wondering if something can be done with the TP2 ear speaker to a similar effect.
Any opinions?
What about SRS WOW?
Have you tested¿

I was pretty pissed that my Acer Aspire One's speaker was on the bottom. It's completely useless. In that instance though, there was plenty of room for speakers in the screen bezel where they would have been usable. For the TP2, there aren't a lot of good places to put it. And since they wanted speakerphone access by flipping the phone over, that placement made sense for enterprise purposes.
I do hope your idea improves its media player creds, but I wonder if amped up audio from the front speaker won't end up sounding as flat as muffled sound from the larger speaker(s?) beneath.
Any Bikers out there? i've been using my motorbike on daily commutes, and i've got a Shark helmet, which means i can use the Shark Bluetooth setup to get sound/mic inside the helmet, but i'm don't want to drop the coin until i know how the sound stacks up.
has anyone used the Shark, or any other brand of bluetooth headgear, and got any comments on the sound quality?
I have an Scala Rider headset and the sound quality is amazing. Most of the times the other party does not realize I'm riding a bike (even at 120Km/h the noise cancelation is very good).
The only con is that if you have the Teamset model (to communicate with a passenger) and you are running at low speeds (low wind noise) you have to shout or speak loud to activate the communication (the VOX threshold is high).
Overall I'm very pleased with the headset and I recommend it.
cool, thanks for that. i'll see if i can give one a test instore, or find out if any of the bike forum members have one.
are you wanting to get it for music, answer phone calls, or to talk to other members of the group/passengers?
from my research the shark ones do all three, so it'd be good if i could get one that did all of them (but i probably wouldn't use the intercom)
then again, if it came down to it, speakers would get the most use
right. i'm just asking what YOUR particular use would be for. me personally, i would use it for the intercom with passengers and for music. i would never answer the phone, atleast not on my joy rides. commuting around, maybe, but i doubt it. its not like i have a bunch of people calling all the time though either. lol
on the music aspect of it... IMHO... its dumb. you have to crank it way up to get past the wind noise (unless the speakers are ear cups that i don't know about). damaging your hearing even more than the wind noise by itself. which is why i use in-ear noise cancelling ear buds. i need new ones though lol.
point i'm trying to get across is that if you arent going to answer calls or use the intercom, its kind of a waste of money. if they are in fact ear cups that surround your ear and cancel wind noise... well thats another story all together and i would pick one up lol
Hey. Recently got a new job and while working I can listen to music. So I've been looking for some decent headphones (on/over the ear only, no earbuds or behind the head types). Looking to spend around $80-100
I'd like them to be comfortable for at least a few hours. I'd like a mic, too. Volume controls don't have to work, but I'd like a play/pause button. Isn't there an app that can make buttons on your headphones work with the phone?
I've been looking at the Klipsch Image ONE's. Look pretty nice, look comfortable, but no idea if the mic works with the GSM, or the controls.
Saw the Sennheiser PX 200-II i, which look a little flimsy, but I'm still considering them.
And these Marshall Majors I can't link. ;p
I also saw the Hesh 2, and Sol Republic's On Ear Tracks.
If anyone has any input on these, or wants to throw some new ones out there, that would help a lot. Just want to make sure I get something with decent sound, a working mic and at least a play/pause button. I'll consider Wireless/Bluetooth ones too.
Thanks, guys.
Just from browsing forums people seem to like the Klipsch S4A ear buds. They come with an android app for the button on the ear buds.

Yeah, I know. I did lots of browsing. But I said I'm not looking for earbuds. Mentioned that in the title. Thanks, though. I'll edit my original post to clarify more.

My mistake then, I was thinking about android controls and the Klipsch S4 was the first thought that popped into my head.
Ive just bought the RAZER electra headset in black, and i can say they are the best on ear headphones ive ever owned! over here they were about £50 so im not sure how much that is in dollars!
Really good trebble, nice middle tones and the bass is brilliant when turned up! it comes with two 3.5mm jack to jacks (the headphones have a 3.5mm out on them that you can lock the jack to jack in) one is just a straight cable, the other is one with a built in mic.
Unfortunately there is no Play/Pause function. But im sure you could program the volume buttons to pause and play when you held them down for 3+ seconds? like the good old sony's walk-man phones!
Let me know if you need any help!
Cheers!
Skullcandy's Roc Nation Aviators are really awesome, don't let the skullcandy brand scare u away, some of the most crisp sound out there. Remote works with android too, I think its like you have to hold the buttons instead of pressing but either way, it works and is awesome...and you can get them on ebay used for like $60 or new for $100 rather than the $150 in the store
So I LOVE going to raves ( Been to Digital Dreams, VELD, and Block Party in a couple hours!) and I can't help but tape my experience, BUT the godlike video from the s3 is compromised by the nothing less than crappy mic, but I JUST found a fix... plug in your earbuds with a mic, and boom! NO MORE BASS FLOOD , I WILL PUT UP A VID OF BEFORE AND AFTER WHEN I RETURN FROM TODAYS EVENT!!
Put a small piece of foam in the hole of the case on your device, or you could also put a small piece of electrical tape over it.
I go to a lot of concerts and the above works wonders
Thank you both so much, been looking for a way to record loud music without the distortion.
There must be a way to adjust the record level as an alternative too.

Hi, if you're rooted and running a custom kernel (I'm using DKP0 you can adjust the gain on the microphones using trickster mod [donate version], It should help you out. :good:
Hey everyone -
Busy day today! Here's an unboxing and hands on review of the Silver Bullet headphones by OnePlus. If you enjoy this please remember to thumbs up the video, share with friends, and subscribe to my youtube channel. Thanks!
Thanks for the unboxing. How is the sound. The best cheap headphones I have heard are the JVC marshmallows. I normally use Klipsch. Do they actually have sound definition with distinct highs and lows, or are they just run of the mill bass machines good for nothing more than rap and r&b?

I'll be honest with you, I'm not the person to answer that question. I have friends like you that are audiophiles and you guys can obviously hear things in sound and music that I'm unable to hear. These guys spend the type of $ on their audio equipment that dwarf my cell phone habit. So I'd hate to answer this and steer you wrong so instead I'll answer it as best I can, but you'll need to keep in mind i'm not an audiophile:
These headphones are fantastic to listen to. I listened to everything from bass heavy hip hop, to guitar whaling metal, to vocal focused blues and they were a pleasure the whole way through. I bought my nephew some beats by dre .... I don't like listening to beats. They are way too bass heavy for me and in turn, the music sounds distorted. I couldn't imagine listening to talk radio on beats headphones my head would explode. Now, when I listen to spoken word, podcasts, talk radio, the silver bullet headphones do have a slight bit more bass than what i like so I don't want to paint them as perfect. These probably sound close to reality, but i like an almost no bass sound when i listen to talk radio because I cant stand when someone pops their P's.
I want. ?

For the same price you might as well go with the Xiaomi Pistons V2.
They sound amazing and you can't go wrong with that price quality ratio.
Its really tempting me to buy it because of the branding mostly.
It reminds me of Apple iPod Shuffle 3rd Gen earphone actually because of the same button layout (the volume up, volume down, and middle button).
I wonder if the middle button can be used to play next or previous song?
The apple earphone can be used to navigate song by pressing the middle button twice to play next, press three times to play previous, hold to change playlist.
Can you confirm if the button works like that or not?
Also i was wondering about the durability of the button after heavy use of clicking the button.
My apple earphone button stopped working after some time, i hope the silver bullet is not like that.
I usually use my earphone when i go jogging so probably the sweat got in it.
In compare with pistons silver bullets sounds like a crap. Dont waste your money on them.
Iam also waiting new Huawei turbine and then i will write total rewiew of all that headphones
