Hi guys I opened this thread up to share some of my top favorite rooted applications. Many experienced users will know what most of these are but some may be new, and of course this is a great place to begin for inexperienced root users. I'm not going to go into crazy detail about all of them but I'm hoping that others will post, comment, and share their findings as well. Take a look.
Avast! - advanced mobile security that gives you virus scan, theft protection, firewall, text/call block, and more!
Adfree- self explanatory. One of the best ad blockers for your browser in the market.
Airdroid- this is my personal favorite. Simply run the app, follow the quick instructions and BOOM you are managing all your own files from your phone both internal and external on your regular desktop computers or laptops. Its super easy to use and a must have.
Cachemate- clears cache with a click of a button.
My backup (root edition) - serves just like titanium backup. Easily backup your apks and data or just apks alone. Also includes photos/videos/music. Reason why I prefer this is because I used to use titanium mainly for freezing and backing up but ics/jb both have the "disable" option now.
Quickboot- quickly boot into recovery/reboot/power off
Root browser- arguably the best file explorer/manager out there. Pretty fast r/w speeds.
Root call blocker- not only can you manually enter the numbers you want blocked but this is one of the first apps I found where your phone won't even ring whatsoever.
SD booster- boost SD card speed. Don't know too much about it but was told from a friend to set the speed to 2048kb for optimization.
Terminal emulator- the "command prompt" of android.
Undelete- ever accidently delete a file and get really mad? Simply run this app and snatch it back!
Voodoo ota- copies your superuser binaries and allows you to keep root after an ota update (going to come in handy once the official jb comes through )
Hope you guys enjoy these apps. Obviously not responsible for anything that these do to your device. Please comment and also share your findings ! Thank you

I am using Grrenify and Seeder. From "hacktools" Faceniff and wi-fi kill.
greenify is great.
my recommendations are Android Firewall, Root Explorer, and Titanium Backup.
Android Firewall is great in that it blocks internet (WiFi/mobile data/both) to apps that you specify. this is great for blocking ads for those that want to play games that do not require a data connection.
As this thread is about root apps I thought I'd ask here rather then start a new thread.... has anyone found a screen recorder that actually works on the M? I've tried SRC and screencast with no luck...even a method that requires me to connect it to the PC would be great....

sorry I couldn't help.

Hello Everyone!
I just reciently rooted my HTC One V and have gotten some decent hacking apps [ Faceniff, DSploit ]. These work and dont work from time to time. If anyone can suggest some other great hacking apps, or just apps that are good ( Which require root ) please reply or post a link below!
Thanks,

My best apps would include...
Here are my best 3:
1. AirDroid - allows remote control of your phone from a web browser
2. Fing - General network tool include ping, traceroute, network scan etc... very nice indeed
3. Wi-Fi analyser - shows wireless signal strength and channel use for all nearby wireless network
Enjoy!
just check the link in my signature
I'm using RhythmicRom along with rom tool box and I'm having issues with the boot animation I select through the toolbox. Basically, lol, it will update, but no bit anim will play... any input?

Try this:
Private Place Secret SMS MMS and Calls which is just superior for root phones: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fahrbot.apps.security.firewall
RAM manager Pro
very nice with one V's not so good RAM
Hey everyone,
Just wondering if I could get some suggestions on good wifi file transfer apps - like my last Samsung I can't for the life of me get this phone to be recognized by Windows. I am rooting and running the awesome Kang AOKP ROM.
WiFi File Explorer is having trouble moving files around - I keep getting network errors on my failed downloads in Chrome on my PC.
Any other more stable app suggestions?
I still can't connect mine either haha
I use Air droid from the market..free and works awesome

I find ES explorer to do pretty much anything I need. Wifi, samba, bluetooth, wifi direct. Also free in the market, and allows root access (su permitting)
-----
Tips for a pleasant XDA:
Search before asking. Someone has likely already asked.
Spell your words completely, and use punctuation. It confuses people when you use "u" and "ur" and "dat", or when you wrongly use "there/their/they're/your/you're".
Be nice. Don't be rude, just move on to another post without leaving a comment. We are not 7 years old.
And PLEASE, do not ask for the "best" anything. We all have our preferences.
Thanks for the suggestions I will check them both out... I already have ES but didn't configure any servers on it. I am having luck with WiFiDroid- another freebee

yeah they are all similar. I find airdroid very fast.. i transfer a 1.4 gig file in about 5 min.

ES Filexplorer is the best.
GUI gets a little wierd at times but it has so many features it can do what your asking.
I actually just discovered pushbullet today it allows for file, picture, text, etc to be pushed from Chrome, or any Android device to another. It even lets you push them to friends phones who have the app as well

Debloat listed apps to speed up or eliminate lag. Uninstall apps not needed, Freeze apps or system files you're not sure to Uninstall. And then create or wait for custom roms.

Enabled write to SD and plan to use xposed once I know it will work
Xposed installed fine for me.
System App Remover (root) is excellent for this.
This is excellent free app for debloating. It tells you what can be safely removed and what should be left alone and allows for batch uninstall.

Well played
Big one for me is getting up and running quick with Titanium Backup restores. Bought before root was out this time but normally.
Disabling stuff too.
Adblock plus, Lucky patcher
Also upgrade Google Maps back to 6.14.4 is a huge one on my phone. Not so much on the tablet but I may use it in the car more. Will need My Maps for travel.
Custom ROM's when they are out.
Probably forgetting something.

Changing dpi of apps because in some of them the fonts are too small.

I've never rooted a Samsung device before. Is it worth it to do now or wait until there are roms available? Do you worry about warranty if you find a hardware issue?
How much would you say debloating helped with speeding up your device? Does it fix the delay from when you press the home button and the animation running? Does it smooth out the stuttering in animations?

How will you use google map/navigator on the tablet? Is your table with 4G? As far as I know google map requires network access.
I am using CoPilot for navigating in the car. It uses downloaded maps.
With my phone I have been using google navigation but I did not like it too much. It is too insistent with its idea of where to go. It will only
recalculate the route after many miles passed its suggested direction. I had this issue in highway, it may be different in city navigation.
I rooted my S 8.4 wifi (T700) and cleaned bloatware.. now I would like to install twrp or cwm.. to make a backup and play deeper with the toy..
Has anyone done it already? Any different from other androids?
Thx.
@Peter234: Probably tethering. I have zero problems using my Note 3 as a hotspot. I also think that Google Maps will let you 'cache' a route as well; IIRC it's one of the Labs features.

Debloating doubles your battery life, and the device will always respond much faster because those running system apps eat up a lot of RAM and CPU power. After I did a massive debloat, the lag and stuttering pretty much went away.
You can also install root apps, which can speed up your RAM, prolong battery life, and improve performance. My favorites are Greenify, SD Booster, and Autokiller.
http://www.phonearena.com/news/Got-ROOT-Here-are-the-root-Android-apps-you-must-try_id46065
De bloating does not double your battery life not even nearly double. Also 80% free RAM is no quicker than 20% free RAM. Sure, improvements can be had but let's keep things in the realm of reality here.
Good day. I just got my new note ii. And i am considering to root my device. I am a noob to rooting and i have read articles about it. But really cant decide. There are pros and cons when it comes to rooting the device. I just need friendly advice. I am a heavy user. And want to speed up my phone, but i also like the features of the phone so i really cant decide. Like the quick glance and stuff and the s note.

i don't see any reason for u to root ur device , leave it like it is , and never upgrade to kit kat , trust me
Well its alteady on 4.4.2 when i got it. I dont see any problems so far. Maybe what i really want is to know what apps i should have that would help me 1. Speedup my phone, 2.antivirus 3. Best cleaner to remove unnecessary files. Oh and also what apps i should delete that is really not needed on my phone. Apps that are running in the backround that really are noy needed.
Thanks for the advice bro.

well , about the antivirus Use avast ,, about speed up ur phone i think that the app u will download to speed up ur phone will eat memory and make the phone slower , u can root using CFroot and it's easy , just after it gets installed re install SuperSU , in options delete the app ( clean up for another app ) and install superuser from google play store cuz the SuperSU will never work well ( at least happened with me ) ,
http://download.chainfire.eu/264/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-t03g-t03gxx-gtn7100.zip
that's the CF auto root , un extract the zip file and flash .tar file using odin in download mode , and do what i said upside
Thank you very much for the info. I ll do a research about it. Thanks.
