[Q] Help. Stuck in bootloop - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

I just came from a Rooted/ROM'ed Samsung Fascinate to the Incredible 2. I'm just trying to root to get rid of the bloatware with titanium backup. I see it's a lot different than the Fascinate. I was on 2.3.4 6.01.605.05. I found that I needed to downgrade to 2.3.3. 2.18.605.3.
I found an easy guide here on another forum and used it...but I can't mention it here...hehe
I followed it exactly and got to my downgrade. I was happy for that. On the guide I followed to revolutionary. I followed a you tube guide because this guy helped me root my fascinate. I get all the way through his video on rooting. Used Revolutionary and it installed the clockwork mod recovery. The video said at 10:30 to use the CWM recovery it booted into to reboot the phone. I hit my power button to reboot and now I'm stuck in an endless bootloop..
I can pull the battery and boot into hboot and from there go to CWM, but not into my phone. The only way I can boot all the way into my phone is through CWM and do the data wipe. but then I have to set up the phone and I have no service and if I shut my phone down I have to do it all over again.
I don't know much about hboot (unlike the fascinate),I know newb on the Inc2 but how can I get it back to normal?

[Q] re-rooting of desire

This could be a simple yes or no....
I have a desire which ive rooted (used the goldcard method). Took me a few days to get there but i got there. After spending said time rooting the gold card way i then stumbled across the "unrevoked" way - did my mates desire last night doing it that way which in my opinion seems to work better as i could install the clockwork recovery image on there while it was rooting the device.
My desire which i rooted the goldcard way wont go to the recovery menu from the phone itself - i have to run the "step2-windows" command from the pc to get it to invoke the recovery menu so i can then reflash a new image. I guess the clockwork recovery image isnt on there.
So, heres the question....can i just run the unrevoked install over the top of my already rooted 2.2'd desire. Or, can i put the clockwork recovery image in after or none of the above....
Look forward to hearing some answers as the way it is now is a bit of pain in the arse if i want to reflash an image.
Thanks
Comfy
I think if you download Rom Manager from the market, you can install ClockworkRecovery with it.
that was the simple yes or no i was looking for - thanks very much!!

[Q] Boot loop (no boot image)

Hey guys! I have no idea where to post, so I apologize if I'm in the wrong section.
I'm very new to rooting and I've seem to come into a major problem. (Atleast in my eyes.) To start off I had gotten my HTC Evo 4g & used the method of UNRevoked to root my Evo. I then found out UNRevoked isn't a full nand unlock & all the nitty gritty, so I came upon Toastcfh's guide to rooting the Evo. I performed half the instructions as told and was then in this boot loop. Right before it happened I (think) I erased the Dalvik Cache, but I definitely hard formatted the whole phone/cache. Anyway as told in the instructions I was suppose to flash the PC36IMG.zip to my phone and I did. Once that all configured it rebooted on itself & now the phone is stuck in boot with stock recovery method. I can load into HBOOT and see that in green lettering it says: SUPERSONIC EVT2-2 SHIP S-OFF, HBOOT-0.79.0000, TOUCH PANEL-ATMEL224_16ab, RADIO-1.39.00.04.26. Please help me. I havent used my phone for a whole day now. :\
To add: Before the PC36IMG.zip got added on my phone, I had clockwork mod recovery. Now I have the stock one I'm guessing. I have tried a stock RUU through HBOOT USB, but the RUU either says some error my phone battery is under 30% (when it's fully charged). Or the RUU will say waiting for device to connect. & I tried putting a rom on my sd card then flashing or whatever and my computer wont open my sd card unless, I put it in the disk reader. Please ask questions, I'll answer as best as I can...thanks!
The current Unrevoked does in fact unlock nand, so you should have stopped there. I am not familiar with Toast's rooting method, so I can't say for certain what happened. The good news is, you are probably fine, you just need to reflash a rom. Since you can't get into recovery, the best way to fix this is to flash a rooted stock pc36img from your hboot. Download the file from THIS THREAD, rename it to pc36img, put it on your sd card and boot into hboot. It will find it automatically and then it will take a few minutes to load it. Once it's loaded it will ask if you want to run the update, choose yes and let it do its thing. When it's done you will have the latest rooted stock rom on there and clockwork recovery. Make sure you delete the old pc36img off your sd card before doing this. Good luck and godspeed.
Did what u said there MetalHead. still getting boot loops at the white htc evo 4g screen and can not get into recovery. Do you have anymore suggestions?
I would try it again but use this PC36IMG.zip instead.

This one is completely stock. You will be unrooted after running it, so you will have to root again.

explain a bit more what is with your phone, what you did in what state is,rooted or not s-off or not and so on
If you tried rooting your phone through alpharevX but were unable to (that is your phone is not rooted) and now when you try to turn it on it goes into a sort of blocked state showing a phone with a triangle next to it or you want for whatever reason to get your phone back to 'brand new' state (factory settings)..... (beware this will only work if you haven't flashed your phone with some other ROM) all you need to do is turn it back off, then push the volume-down button and the power button (volume button first, then keeping the first still pushed the other)... now go to clear storage (use volume buttons up and down to navigate and the power button to confirm) so push the power button then the volume up button that's it....
Mind you if you have an PC49IMG.zip file on your sd card you are gonna have to delete it before doing this.
Thanks for the replies, but I've managed to instal Cyanogenmod so I don't longer need to go back to FroYo. =)

Lol, own.
Any idea if floating around there is a base ROM for the HTC Wildfire so as to restore to its out-of-box system ROM.
Ideally something I can use from ROM Manager.
I'm asking because twice I've used the stock RUU restore prog and it has un-rooted my HTC Wildfire

Check Safe Flash RUU's in Point 5 of 1st post of this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1029318
They are untouched stock ROM's, offered as a flashable ZIP.
Problem
I have nearly the exact same situation, except my phone(when turned on) gets stuck at the boot screen(telstra next g) i think i will use the stock 2.2 RUU to get back to the stock un-rooted ROM
I gained S-OFF with alpharevX beta and used gingerbreak to get root. I tried to get into clockwork mod, after using root toolbox to install it, to install cyanogen mod 7 but it would not load. HTC Wildfire, 2.2.1 Froyo,
Did you perform a full wipe before flashing the Cyanogenmod ROM file? Not doing so leads to bootloops, as you have described.
I did not even get to flash cyanogen mod. I cannot get into recovery. I chOose recovery but it goes to fast boot please help
I tried to use the stock RUU for 2.2 but it would not find my device, i tried twice. Once while it was stuck at the boot logo and the second time at the fastboot menu. Please help! I tried a clear data (htc wildfires take on hard reset) and it is still just stuck on the logo
i found a fix! i went into fasboot and ran the RUU on another computer with HTC Sync installed and it worked perfectly! i have now got clockworkmod installed and working excellent!

[Q] Revolutionary Root Fail

So this morning I used zedomax's root video on YouTube to root my phone. Everything went fine until I get to the bootloader and it asked me if I wanted to update the image. I said yes. It did its thing then got stuck on the white HTC evo screen. So I pulled out the battery and went back to the bootloader and said no to updating the image and tried to go to recovery and I got stuck at the black screen showing the phone with the red exclamation point with the triangle. My guess is I messed up in allowing it to update the image file. I have the same SD card from a previously rooted evo so it may be an old one left there. I had been rooted with unrevoked. Should I just run the unrevoked root? I had a replacement phone with the updated gingerbread software. The phone boots up fine but it can't get to the recovery. And I noticed that I'm back on froyo.
wrong section... and go to the revolutionary IRC channel to get some help
first things first make sure your bootloader says "revolutionary" at the top and "s-off" at the top if you don't see this that means you didnt run the tool correctly. if you do see this it means you skipped the step about hitting "y" to download recovery. at this point you need to download a recovery image that is labeled "pc36.img" then flash it using bootloader.

It said revolutionary at the top and when I hit y it flashed successfully. But now I ended up getting downgraded to froyo. I guess I should just root using the previous methods?
No. Ur good. Sounds like u have custom recovery now so dl ur fav rom then wipe n flash in recovery. Done. Or get su n keep stock rom

[Resolved] ICS Installation - Urgent Help Needed

Hi all
This is the first time I tried to root my phone and install ICS on it. The phone was on 2.3.4 and then I tried to root it using unrevoked tool. Initially it was the latest version of the unrevoked and hence it did not allow me to root it. I went for one lower version and the phone was rooted successfully.
After that I followed the instructions from the androidlookout website.
All the steps went fine. When installed zip files, it did say that file was installed successfully. Now when I am trying to reboot after that, all I get is the first screen with "htc Incredible" written and it does not go ahead. I waited for hours but it did not move. Then I pulled out the battery and tried using the hard reset using Power and Volume Down. I selected option to reboot now and again stuck at the same screen.
I believe the phone is not bricked as it is still allowing me to go to the recovery menu. Any help would be truly appreciated. I am sure I might have messed up somewhere.

You don't say anything about the ICS version you attempted to flash. I suggest you try flashing another rom such as the reliable Nil's 2.1. Then if that is up running save a nandroid copy of that and try flashing the IC-dinc AOKP or Kang roms.
Pull the battery, press volume down and power button. You should be at the bootloader screen and it should say S-off if you are rooted. On the menu, go to recovery and press the power button, it should then reboot to the CWM recovery menu. You can then go to mounts and select USB mount to get the nil's (or other rom) that you downloaded to your computer and transfer it to the root of the sd card; then go back to the main menu and do a factory reset; go back to mounts, and format system and boot; then flash your rom and reboot. It should work.
Wrong section. This should be in Q&A, per site rules. Thought there was a 10 post rule, mabey they did away with it.
That being said, wipe the phone from recovery, and reflash a rom.
It sounds like you might have gone ahead with flashing before achieving S-OFF. Here is a good guide on how to downgrade to 2.2 and use unrevoked to get S-OFF. As always be sure to make a nandroid backup before you downgrade. I followed the steps in the guide to a T and am now rooted, S-OFF, with ICS running
You said that can get into the recovery menu, go in wipe your stuff and reflash.

Thank you sir!! I apologize for posting in the wrong manner but I did as you suggested. I wiped off the user data and reflashed it and voila, it worked this time.
Thank you so much!
