[Q] Going back to 4.0.4 with 1.36 HBOOT - HTC One X

Is it possible? And if the answer is yes, then how should i do it?

You can try to flash an ics rom, but isn't said that everything is working (ex: Wifi / Data)
Instead, if you have an hox with S-OFF you can downgrade your hboot and flash an ics rom...

there is no reason to come back to ics. JB with some roms works perfectly. The only problem is s-off but it will come

I know that any ics sense rom will work fine on the higher hboots. They will fully work

hboot downgrade?

so couple days ago i flashed jb sense rom, and i updgraded my hboot to 1.28.
now today i wanted to try paranoid android jb, and after flashing the rom i got stuck at the white htc logo screen.
So is this because of the hboot 1.28?
Cause other jb sense roms work fine
oh yeah, cm10 also doesn't work with this hboot i got now (tried cm10 nightflies)

Dude, I have exactly the same problem, except I'm on HBOOT 1.23.
Whenever I finished flashing Paranoid Android (the latest 4.1.2 one), it just gets stuck at the white HTC screen too - I don't think its because of the HBOOT 1.28 - It has to be something else.
No, it's simply because of hboot 1.23/28! ROMs built on Cyanogenmod sources, simply all nonSENSE ROMs won't work with hboot 1.23 or 1.28. Except with mdeejays kernel. With that kernel though, gps won't work!
As I understood it (someone will say if I'm wrong) the only way to go back to a custom ICS or similar ROM from upgrading to Jellybean with the new HBOOT, was if you already had a nandroid backup of it on your phone. You cannot downgrade to a ICS RUU either.
Or as already stated, you have to use mdeejay's kernel which WILL allow you to install a custom ICS ROM.

You can flash a custom ics sense Rom as normal (im on hboot 1.23 using viperx Rom with stock kernel), its just you can't use any ruus as nones been released yet with the updated hboot.

[q] Disadvantages updating hboot to 1.28?

Are there any disadvantages on updating the hboot to 1.28? Currently on 1.12, already running latest CM10.
You will have trouble returning to other ROMs not on the 3.14 base
i know there is a solution to go back to previous rom, even after updating hboot:
-before update do a nandroid backup from recovery
and when you want to return back, restore backup, if you'll have bootloop, then flash boot.img from your rom
The only disadvantage to updating your hboot is you won't be able to use a ruu if you mess anything up as nones been released yet with the updated hboot.
You will have problems going back to a cm10 Rom as they don't like working with the new hboot, it is possible though.
You can quite happily go back to a ics sense custom Rom with no problems, I'm on 1.28 hboot and flashed the viperx Rom with no problems/errors

you might consider my thread about light and proximity sensors, so far no solution to this problem but waiting for official release or downgrading if S-OFF.

[Q] Manually update Hboot to 1.28 (for ARHD12) + Smart toggles on Sense Roms

Hey Guys
I've got three questions:
Can you manually update your hBoot to 1.28 from 1.12? (i'm on CM10 now). I might want to go back to Sense, but JB is the minimum.
With a Nandroid Backup of now, (hboot 1.12, CM10 boot.img), can I return to hboot 1.12 and run CM10 again?
CM10 has those 'smart toggles' in the notification center, on such way I've never seen before. Can I get that on a Sense rom (ARHD12) too? Or a great alternative...?
Thanks!
yes you can manually update hboot if you have the compatible CID,
unfortunately if your phone is S-ON (check in hboot), you can only upgrade your hboot. and yes you can go back to a nandroid backup but you should expect bugs on non-sense Roms.
and yes there are quick toggles (not yet ported to sense JB) on sense roms

Will GPS ever work on Hboot 1.31 on the Cyanogen stock rom?

Will GPS ever work on the Cyanogen stock rom using hboot 1.31?
This rom is great because it's lightning fast but not having GPS is a killer for me.
If I wait long enough will the Cyanogen rom work with GPS or is there some other limitation ensuring it'll never work?
I basically just want to know if it will work any day now on Cyanogen or if I should go back to Sense for the time being.
Thanks
Chris
Yes just wait till everybody gets the jb update.
Kernel source would be out and your gps would start working with the new kernel.

Its amazing how much I hate to wait
Well you can always go back to sense if you are so desperate.

I was with the official 4.1 update but i got back to Cyanogenmod. Now My hboot is 1.36 and when i try to flash ICS RUU file (cause I cant find Europe JB RUU) it says i have wrong bootloader version. What am I supposed to do if i wanna get back to stock?
You can go back to ics only by flashing a nand backup or by installing a stock "custom" rom. No way to use ICS ruu after upgrading hboot.

[Q] Is it possible that GPS is broken in my DHD?

I have 2 identical DHD phones, one is still totally stock the other I used the now retired hack kit to get root, s-off etc. I have tried several custom ROMS with the DHD with root but GPS doesn't work on any of them. On the other hand my stock DHD with GB 2.3.5 gets a GPS fix in seconds.
Is it possible that the rooted DHD has a faulty GPS antenna/setup?
BTW the ROMs I have tried all have working GPS so the problem isn't the ROM.
Any suggestions?
cheers
to rule out rom issue, you can try flashing rooted stock rom, or even flash ruu, which i think should preserve radio s-off. if you are using jb rom, try flashing latest radio
