So after updating to 4.1.2, my battery stopped showing colors. you know how fully charged is green, 20% or less is yellow, and last 5 or 10% are red. Mine just shows green untill it dies. Anyway i can fix that?

Hey all. I was using leedroids froyosense Rom but I stopped using it because everytime I unplugged my charger when my phone had charged to full, the battery would jump down to about 90 percent straight away..
Now I'm back on Adam G's sense froyo rom, but the same things happening again, this time if drops down to around 96 percent though..
Can anyone shed any light on this?
Thanks in advance.

do you people not search?? it been talked about for weeks this, when the desire reaches 100% it starts discharging to 90% before it starts charging again, even tho the batt says 100% so its random between 100 - 90 % when you unplug your phone, you wont know the correct charge level till the battery polls again 2-3 mins later
Of course I search! It's all I do! But iv charged my phone overnight for 10th hours plus so there is plenty of time to discharge to 90 percent or so then back to 100 percent but its just not happening.
Instead it just drops down and stays down.

it dosent do it just once, every time the fone gets to 100% it starts discarging!! the process is called exercising the battery btw i charge my fone with the power off and dont have this problem, but have noticed it when charging with power on
Ah i see. Just turned my phone off when it got to green when the phone was turned on then turned it off and it topped itself back up to green and now its still on 100 percent after half an hour.
Thanks for your help!

Running cm 7 for a few days now. Like it more than I thought I would.
One issue though, more of an annoyance I guess, when charging,
the green led comes on for a full charge, but the battery is not fully
charged yet. Is there a fix for this, or is it something I need to learn to live with?
I think you'll have to deal with it. CM7 runs the same way for me. Once unplugged (green led) it shows 90%. I've tried clearing batt stats many times to no avail.
I've heard this is a gingerbread bug and not just specific to cm, for a fix; if you can call it a fix, you can use a kernel with fastcharge enabled. Usually when I charge my phone using chads latest kernel it'll usually only take a half hour to charge completely to 100% so I never really notice this bug tbh.
Noticed it too, just the way it is in GB.

Great article, I've read it before and it makes total sense. However, if I watch my phone when it's charging, when the green light comes on, it is not fully charged. It comes on earlier than when it is actually charged, which is a different thing all together. Mostly just annoying as stated in my op and was just trying to find out if it was a common issue.

I haven't experienced this before. If you leave it plugged in while the green light is on does it continue to charge?
Also have you ever cleared battery stats?

When the green light comes on, it's at 85-90% charge if I look at it. I leave it charging after that and it continues to charge as normal, except the green light is on. Everything functions properly with the exception of the green light coming on too soon. I have cleared batt stats a couple of times and it makes no difference. Mostly just annoying.

I am getting this for my son for christmas and was just wondering how long I should charge it for the first time? I believe that you are supposed to run the battery down to 0 then charge fully, but for how long? I know that we have plenty going on on christmas day and I dont want his phone dying on him and him not being able to use it because it has to charge for 9 hours.
when the light turns green it's fully charged.
if you want to do a full charge then yeah.. wait for it to say 'low battery' or die completely, then charge it till it turns green.
easy way of killing the battery fast is leaving LTE on & the screen on while letting it play a video or a game.
The run down to 0 thing is not true with lithium ions. It comes about 60% charged. I say leave it alone until Christmas eve, put it on the charger over night, and you will be good.
OK, how is battery on the device?
Do NOT let the phone die to 0%. It's best to charge it as soon and as often as possible. Letting it die completely hurts more than it helps, although it is sometimes useful to do when you want to calibrate the it (once a month max).
Mine came at 40% and I just started using it right away. They say to let it charge fully and sit for a few extra hours, but I never do.

Actually, the discharging/charging thing when the battery's new is a good practice, even for Lithium-Ions. Not for the battery's sake, but so that the phone battery monitoring is as accurate as possible. Helps to give better figures.

you can always just wipe battery stats in clockwork recovery to recalibrate.

You know, that green light... which we don't have!
Yeah no indicator or what so ever. Just text on lock screen says charged means its full. If you charge it while phone is off lightly tap power button it will show big battery icon on the middle of the screen

And speaking of battery, does anyone know good calibrating procedures? Would it be the same as i would do for my Charge?
The green light indicating a fully charged battery goes on for me at about ~90% battery charge. This is super annoying. Is this a known bug or am i doing something wrong? Any way to fix it? I tried calibrating the battery but no luck.
What ROM?

Green doesn't mean fully charge its by % of charge ie: 90%-98% green

I think the aosp roms show green at 90%, while stock doesn't do it until 100%
My original Xperia ZL (C6505 Black) charged correctly to 100%. My 1st replacement (C6506 White) would reach 92% and indicate that it was fully charged (orange light turns green). After a week, it would slowly but painfully reach 100% but still assumed 92% was fully charged by switching from orange to green. I decided to get it replaced one last time and what do you know, the same thing happens as well.
The 1st replacement was initially charged with the wall charger. The latest replacement was initially charged via my Macbook to allow it to slowly charge.
Thoughts????
Try to reset battery stats with the yellow button behind the back cover. Press it for 5 seconds I think.
The light turns to green when charging reaches to 90% but it doesnot say its fully charged...actually there is no indication about fully charged just 100% status bar..no message..prevoiusly in ics sony had that charging status on lockscreen now they removed in jelly bean.
And when I remove charger within 1 minute it dropes to 99%...sony should fix this...n status led keeps on green forever... untill u remove the uSb

Yeap exactly after the 253 firmware update this is what happens. It drops to 99 after a min or so.... But then it lasts enough..
Sent from my ZL [email protected]
from Sony Xperia ZL manual:
! The battery will start to discharge a little after it is fully charged and then charges again after a
certain time when the charger is connected. This is to extend battery life and may result in the
charge status showing a level below 100 percent.
This is a problem with the 253 update..so wait for an update fix..meanwhile..download the battery doctor App from playstore..it'll guide you how to charge battery in a better way..and ensure a healthy battery,I tested it and it does work quite nicely
If you feel that I've helped you in any way,,please hit the thanks button
