I know this is off-topic, but is there a way I can install this AOSP Car Launcher on my stock (rooted) phone?

The differences between the two is the ODex version uses the stock Samsung dialer, stock pulled kernel, and for now, no CRT, overscoll, or lockscreen mod. This Rom does feel faster to me. If you flash let me our feedback if you decide to flash.

If it came with stock kernel, but just reboot into recovery and flash super user. Any of the stock packed with CWM kernels threads should have them

Oh and you can either use adb to reboot into recovery or power off the phone and hold volume up and power into it boots into recovery

Hell yea installed and all is running smooth have had one android process has stopped then nothing else and all seems to be working fine now , again a HUGE thank you for this !!

I've tested it on velox rom wich is based on latest alpha and worked like a charm.

I think so. do a backup and then test
there is no theming involved only porting and modding

Works good in CM10.1 . Got a little moar ram but not so much for have the big desing of samsung touchwiz laucher and my own samsung galaxy s3 theme in CM

On sound options diseable the sound and will stop fc
Apparently sound on kb on cm9 and above is not compatible with stock keyboard
