Happy to try and help, but need more info first.
What ROM (firmware) and Android version did you start with, and which were you trying to install using RSD Lite?
I think it isn't bricked, what ROM did u flashed and which one did you came from?
Connect USB and open RSDLite, see if the phone is showed, if not just try to turn it on, you will only see a black screen but RSDLite will recognize it and you will be able to flash
Sorry for the delay...
In fact when i try to start the defy nothing happens.
And RSD lite does not recognize it neither...
I had froyo 2.2 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933555)
but i had to downgrade because it was too slow!!
After the downgrade the defy went off and did not start since that...
thank you for your help...
exactly the same problem to me
sorry for bad english
Same thing happened to mine, won't start, RSD lite won't recognize I don't want to have to send it back to T-mobile, any help would be appreciated.

It happened to me too. I had to install the tmo us leak to boot back up

We cannot downgrade after flashing the US leak. But its better than a bricked phone!!

The same thing happened to me (see this thread)
Basically, what I did was to try to flash a generic uk 2.21 rom onto my usa t-mobile defy that has been updated to the 3.6.360 firmware recently.
After flashing, rsdlite said "finished" and "PASS", but my defy defiantly (no pun intended ) remained turned off with only a white light at the top. This white light would turn on when i plugged the device into the usb, and turn off when I plug it out. Initially, rsdlite also recognised my device whenever i plugged it in, but after a while (and, i believe, draining my battery considerably) rsdlite completely did not recognise my phone. In essence, i thought it was bricked as all the phone could do was turn on a white light whenever i plugged it into the computer. It did not respond to booting into recovery, bootloader, etc.
What I did was to first get the phone recognised by rsdlite. Search this forum for the Mcguyver battery fix. this certainly helped to get mine recognised by rsdlite.
After your phone has been seen by rsdlite, load up the leaked tmobile froyo rom and flash it with that. it should work and you should be up and running in no time. (just like me 30 minutes ago! I felt so happy and started scouring this forum to help out anyone in the same situation as I was..)
GOOD LUCK!!!

Hi all,
my story is similar, but the pc doesn't recognize my phone, because i cannot put it in bootloader mode, afteg plug usb cable light the white led.

Hi guys,
I did something very stupid and it seems I've bricked my arc for good
My Arc had unlocked bootloader and was on rooted 2.3.2. When the phone found firmware OTA update, I chose to download it, then the phone rebooted and started installing new firmware. After a minute or so, it turned off and that was the end, it's not possible to turn it on any more. The led won't even lit up. Is there anything I can do to revive it ?
Arrrgh, this exact same thing happened to me, I woke up and it said there was software update available (I have unlocked bootloader and rooted 2.3.2)
I blame still being mostly asleep on hitting ok. Now I have a brick!
Some more info.
I've tried pulling the battery and putting it back in, It still won't power on.
I've tried holding down menu and plugging it into USB to reflash it and the blue light doesn't come on.
Sorry to hear that, and many people have this problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1106250
Can't update firmaware through OTA after unlocking bootloader
Sorry to hear about your phone
I always turn of the "auto check for updates" thingy on android. Learned the hard way on my Desire when it got updated to Froyo over OTA and had to wait a while for root lol.
Anyway,SE provided the info to unlock the bootloader and that an OTA coming from them bricks the phone is kinda silly. Far as i know u can't update through SEUS (might be wrong) when it's unlocked and it would be a nice idea maybe to not be able to install the OTA update either.

won't work if you can't get it into flash mode.
Can't you get it into Fastboot mode (give it a few hours charge..) then pull the battery for 30 seconds...
then hold the menu button while plugging the usb cable in... should (in theory) go into fastboot mode - then you can fastboot flash a fresh system.img

Tried - no help though. Any other ideas? Or just to go and buy a new one?
By the way, did the same thing: my Arc LT15i has/had unlocked bootloader, rooted 2.3.2 (first firmware) and is/was 3.0.A.2.181. While preparing to try to lock bootloader in order to use SEUS and upgrade firmware, I've connected the phone which asked me to check for the updates and found T-mobile update (approx. 40Mb). Asked to dowloand and an idiot pressed "OK". And now, everything is black - just as the mask of the phone is.
The green light just blinks when the "power on" button is pressed, or charger is plugged in.
Can't it be unbricked with flashtool?

[UPDATE] to my previous post:
Steps I have done:
1. Charged the battery for 4-5 hours
2. Flashed my Arc using the manual for flashing by @Step666
3. The progress went well and at the end there was a message:
"INFO - Now unplug the device and power it on
INFO - Then go to application settings
INFO - turn on Unknown Sources and Debugging"
I have tried to turn on the phone. There was a small vibration as when you're turning on the phone (note: before flashing there was not even this vibration when pressing power on button), but the screen remains black.
Any ideas for next step(s)? Thanks for trying to help!

How can you repair a bricked phone with pc companion? Dont u need the phone to be booted and running?
No, but it will need flash mode. Hold back button while plugging in usb to pc. If not recognized, use Wotan server.

Found the problem myself, after sliding up the little black test point cover, it interfered with the screen, so holding the top left corner tight enabled the screen, so shook the phone a bit and it's fine now, must have been wedged somewhere it shouldn't have been.

Hello guys, i have a problem with my sgs .. after downgrade from jv9 to froyo i've got my sgs bricked.. cannot enter do download mode by 3 button combo and by usb jiig is well ( jig is working, checked on sgs2) only thing happening is when i connect it by usb cable to my laptop i getting info the windows cannot find the driver for it and after few seconds is disconnecting.
Any ideas how to get it back to life ?
Thanx.
ps. sorry for my english. Cherrs
What happens when you turn it on normally?
At what screen does it stop?
Can you enter recovery mode?
its totally dead.
Remove the battery, wait a few minutes ( In fact, 30 sec should be alright ) the put it back. Press power button, if you see the phone -- triangle -- pc image, then just remove the battery again, put it back and plug your jig. If you see nothing i'm almost sure your screwed.
Steps:
First Remove your battery and wait 60 seconds
Then put the battery back in
There will be a small hole in the right side of the camera like a soft reset hole
take a paper clip
insert it in the hole and wait 25 seconds while pressing it in
then go into the download mode but the volume down +home button + power button
If the button method doesn't work try using the jig
Now it should work

Can you try running USBDeview from http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html . You should see all your existing devices like mouse, keyboard etc. Then plug the phone in, and if it shows up in USBDeview tell me what it says in these columns for the phone device:
VendorID, ProductID, USB Class, USB SubClass
You may need a couple of tries to get all the numbers if it's disconnecting after a few seconds.
I'm interested because it could be the type of brick we are trying to fix in this thread where the bootloaders have been corrupted and it is going into processor recovery mode. We don't have a fix for you but if I'm right it will confirm that you need to get the phone reflashed by Samsung. Ask them how they do it while you're there.
hmm i cannot see any hole on the right side of the camera.. there is only connector looks like gps antenna.
i tried on 3 different batteries and i tried to take battery out for few minutes and still not work..
hmm so what if there is that bootloader fault?
this is o2 brand phone so do you think guys can i just go to o2 and say that stops working after kies upgrade or some rubbish like that ? do you think that will work ?

Yes, they won't be able to tell what caused it, though your custom firmware could all reappear if they only reflash the bootloaders. But at least your phone will be fixed.
hmm ok but if they will know i had custom firmware they will charge me for repair ?
how log it normally takes ?
actually i was flashing the branded o2 froyo firmware while it happens.. but i got info from odin unsuccessfully flashed...
//ps
Device recognized by windows :

Yep, that confirms that your initial bootloader is trashed and the CPU has gone into USB recovery mode because it couldn't load the bootloader. The only fix currently is to get Samsung to reflash it, or get someone with a Riffbox or other JTAG equipment to fix it. Heating the phone will not help you, neither will reinstalling Samsung phone USB drivers.

Well mate; if we are talking about the usual samsung galaxy s , when we open the lid there definitely is that small gutter with a hole in it . That little diaphragm can be pressed by a blunt pin.
Your provider should fix the phone no problem.

about a week ago, I flashed CivZ-SpherEngine-REV2.0 kernel on top of stock (Indonesia) rooted 4.2.2 N5100, and it's nice. but since then, my note 8 always turn on by itself (from completely power off to on) after few hours since I shut down it.
this is so weird. nobody touch it and it can turn on by itself, from off.
is it related to this kernel? or anything else? please help.

Mine too. I don't know how long it has been doing this but it explains why it ALWAYS seems to be on. On my 5110 Im running CivZ Flexbeam ROM 3.6.2 with the included spehere extreme kernel. Did changing kernels clear up the issue for you?
Sent from my GT-N5110 using Tapatalk
The device does power on when USB charging is plugged in. But it is not a full startup, just the basic function of charging and data connect.
As for starting up from being off without any USB connect or disconnect would be a hardware issue. Possible from lack of flushing cache and formatting partition before a new modded firmware is installed. As the hardware function to power on / off may be setting a false detect to power on or off.
If it works proper with OEM firmware the issue is how you flashed or the flashed firmware used. Also another issue is restoring from backup. System data and settings may effect custom firmware when restoring.
I have recently bought the galaxy tab 3 10.1
but i have issues i don't know is this a software problem or hardware problem
first issue is the volume up and volume down when i click on VOL UP one click it become max and when i click VOL DOWN one click it become in vibrate mode
second problem the usb charging i want it make it charge
Third issue there is ''safe mode'' word in the down left corner when i open settings and play store
so please help me and i have recived a 22 mega update any one recived it too ?
Did you buy it used? A new device should not be booting into safe mode.
