My note 2 fallen on the floor....Urgent help needed plss - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

my note 2 slipped from my hands and felt down there was water on the floor but phone didnt completely dipped in water just usb part was dipped...everything is working even charging....but when I connect usb to my on my lappy it is just charging but not showing device...odin also not detecting...any solutions??

Just try and dry it out as much as you can, I would have thought that if the ribbon had come loose inside, it wouldn't show anything at all. Failing that, you could just buy a new USB port, very cheap and easy to replace.
I've messed up my USB port on every Samsung device I've ever owned, to the point that when I got my note 2, I ordered spare ports for "when" I bust it, as soon as they became available for purchase lol.

Try this: remove the battery, spray some wd40 inside the usb connector on the phone, let it dry for a couple hours and try again.
If you don't have wd40, try using Isopropyl*alcohol, but NOT other types of alcohol

stoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooop using it remove the battery ASAP and dry it with rice bag

I know a few people who had success with this method.

Rice is the best solution I know of. Friend of mine managed to rescue his iphone after his gf washed it in the washing machine by leaving it in an airing cupboard inside the jar full of rice

+1 for rice. it works.
rice is very absorbant of water. in the south we put it on the salt shakers to keep the salt from clumping in the high humidity.
Dave

Rice is great to remove water and dry completely the things, but the thing about wd40 or isoproyl that i said before is that they not only remove all the water, but also stop any oxidation process that could have started and also remove any kind of residues left by the water.
They are specifically developed to clean eletronics

He's not kidding. It works. Rice is hygroscopic. Meaning it can absorb water.

Dropped my phone in the shower.

Phone was fully submerged in water for about a second. Quickly pulled battery and dried it off. surprisingly the water damage sticker is still white. Turned it back on after about 10 minutes. i was experiencing issues with the speakers while talking and playing music from the phone. rebooted a few times and hopped in my car to try the phone out on the Bluetooth and everything was fine. i even plugged the auxiliary cord into the phone and music playing normally. its been about 5 hours and everything seems to be working again. has anyone ever experienced something similar to this??

Do you mean bath? I don't know why you'd shower with your phone..
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
why were you in the shower with your phone?
i take a 10minute mini bath before i shower to read emails, tweets, etc then i switch it up to shower. it dropped out of my hands at that point.

that is a seriously stupid idea, just pointing that out. it was inevitable that you dropped it.
secondly your speakers and mic need to dry out properly, out it in a bowl of white rice and leave it for a few days.
if you don't let the speakers dry out it can tear the membrane that is made out of a paper fibre material.

LOL.
Don't you think it would've been a little safer if you just did all that before the mini bath/shower?

Cool story bro.
Maybe you should have bought the Samsung Rugby Smart instead of this phone.

You should always wait a good long time before powering up after the phone takes a swim

This is the best advice for any device dropped in water. I tell this to people at work that get their personal phones wet and I always get a befuddled reaction. The truth is that it absolutely works 99% of the time. The dry rice sucks the moisture right out.

it works great, the trick is to leave it alone for 3-5 days. most people cannot.

put your phone under your rice box or basin, need to stay at least an hour or await the day..rice is type of desiccant..it can help to suck moisture.
Spray isopropyl alcohol, to push the water out since it displaces water...throw in [email protected] 175* for 45 min....profit! Worked for me!

Not flaming but a mini bath? Lol

Light Water Damage to Speaker?

So some small water made it's way through the front of the screen and possibly slid down the bottom somehow. While I haven't give it the raw rice treatment, I have dried it out with a hot air from a PC dust blower I had around. Everything seems to be working fine except for this. I can plug in my headphones to hear music. I can still hear the notifications and phone ringing, but music will not play at all. Anyone have any ideas? Does the phone have to speakers I don't know of?
Edit seems like the head piece isn't working either. Cuts in and out.
I would go ahead and put it in rice for a few days.

Few days? I'm not talking about soaking wet here, I'm talking about maybe 3-10 teaspoons of water. But if you think so, then so be it.

Ok, so the problem fixed itself after a night in a rice bag(8ish hours).

Help please

Well I've had my phone 2 weeks and dropped it down the toilet what shall I do
Don't try turning it on and stick it in a bag of rice to try and absorb some of the moisture

I'm not sure, but don't flush. What else is in there?
2 weeks & you've done this?
*finishes giggling*
Sorry, but No other way than to cover the headphone and charging connector with some wool and place your phone inside a big bag of rice at room temperature. (24hours at least)
..... And hope for the best,
Hopefully you hadn't just had a pee or crap just before either.

DON'T USE PHONE

Do you guys use a micro USB dust cover?

So as to prevent your phones USB port from being damaged by moisture or condensation? Besides a little wouldn't hurt the phone right? Unlike if you drop the phone in water itself.

haven't heard of such a thing... maybe only a phone cover which has some sort of a door thing..which I doubt exists.... or just take a charging head pin and cut accurately like some sort of stub thing and mould/smoothern the edges and keep inserted on the phone always haha and remove it when u need to use the port for charging maybe

Nope, never had such a problem with my devices so far. I handle them with a certain care, though.

I too handle them with great care too. Unforthnately today I used a bag which wasn't exactly fully water proof so some moisture got in and some of my papers were wet, my screen has some moisture on it but I then used a flash light to shine into my micro USB port but couldn't see any moisture in there. Was caught in a moderately heavy rain.
Should I have anything to worry about my phone? Charges fine though, haven't really plugged it in my PC yet.

I took my G2 for a dip in the river having to drag my dumbass dog out lol
It must have been completely submerged for 2-3 min.
It took a few days to dry out but after that it recovered completely
