i own an htc one x (international version ) (Tegra 3 ) ..and after reading some interesting articles about installing custom roms on the one x , i rooted it and put some rom , it was working perfectly , but i was not satisfied with the rom , so i downloaded a new rom and put it on the phone and installed the rom (some nexus rom) ... i booted the phone and it was stuck on the nexus logo and nothing else would happen , so i read some articles on the internet , one of them told me to reset the phone to factory setting , after doing that i've lost CWM Recovery , now all i can do is, get to Hboot or something like that , aND all i can see here is fastboot and recovery , I've tried everything , but it just wont work , i'm a noob , please help me fix my phone up ! , i gave it to the htc repair centre they told me that they had to change the motherboard and that would cost as much as half the price of the phone , so i told dont want .... now is there anyway i can fix it by myself or fix it somewhere else for cheaper ??? please suggest a way i can do it on my own
Dude are you serious !!!! A nexus rom....why do they call our phone a htc one x and not a nexus !!!!
Do you know fastboot commands to flash recoverys and boot.img files ?
Flash this recovery
http://db.tt/Krlm4dPs
And then go into the recovery and mount it as an usb mass storage, copy the rom.zip over to the sdcard. Then wipe everything. Also copy the boot.img file from the rom.zip to your fastboot folder and flash that too....
Then enter the recovery and install the rom.zip.
What is the nymber of your hboot andnwhich rom do you want to flash ? And only HTC ONE X ROMS !!!!!!

Then you put the phone in the bootloader and check if you see fastboot usb in red text !
Then you open a command prompt inside the folder with the fastboot files i gave you, you type there
Fastboot getvar version-main
It shoukd give out a number like 2.17.401.11 or somethimg else....but thats how it looks

Hey to all
I'm working on a new custom rom, the rom, btw the first Update seems to be finished, but now, I have a problem, because I can not make a flashable zip. I tried everything
What I need is to copy the /system to the system of the device, the /data and the boot.img.
It would be great if anyone can help me with this hugh problem^^
Thanks
ps. for CWM
do you mean to flash your custom .img files to the phone?
not saying it's safe...because i've only done this with an official ROM.zip from the 2.3.5 RUU...
but if you turn on in boot mode (hold down vol - and power), select fastboot, then connect to pc via usb, you can use the following fastboot commands to flash the images directly
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img
like i said, i've only done this with extracted official files from an RUU, so i won't guarentee that it is successful or even safe for other files :s
maybe i have misunderstood your post though?
Yes you missunderstud my Post, but no problem man, thanks for tying to help me, but i wanted to know how to creat a flashable zip to share it.. Without android kitchen.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire S A510e using Tapatalk
First, I just googled ” how to make flashable zip cwm” and there was at least ten links right there. Secondly, while I respect that you're trying to learn, I personally wouldn't flash anything made by somebody that couldn't be bothered to google AND doesn't know how to re zip their files. Please be careful with what you release...
Sent from my HTC_A510c using Tapatalk
And you can tell me now how? You can't. I wrote seven update-scripts, the installation was allways successful but after seven min. The screen frezzes and the device revoots..

ah, yeh, I understand what you mean now i think. i'm know not very much about that side of things i'm afraid, you might have more luck posting in the developer section tho? good luck
I successfully unlocked my HTC ONE V but every time I try, and I have tried many times, to root my phone with r1-primo-superboot or One_V_All-In-One_Kit_v1.1 or any method, I get an error.
CDMA
It brings up this on the HTC splash screen.
In red:
"This build is for development purposes only..."
There is more, but I'm sure you understand...How do I fix this issue?
It isn't a issue that's normal all of us have that

Okay, so how do I fix this issue. It's becoming a problem for me.
How do I correct the issue where I can access Recovery Mode and Root my phone?
there's no way to fix that dude
u have to manage with it
or else just unroot
Sent from my ONE V
Okay, so how do I root my phone and access the Recovery.... If I can't access the Recovery, then how do I root my phone, because I have tried mulitply times.
Please, I understand I have it and I'm stuck with it, but how do I root my phone and/or install Recovery. But this process is killing me.
U have to flash cmw but becareful download the cmw for primo c do u know how to flash it??
Y U WANNA KNOW FROM WHERE SENT??
I have my phone Unlocked. and I've been using fastboot to flash this recovery. I've used this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1635520&highlight=root
I've install Recovery via Rom Manager too, but still no luck. I can't access recovery.
Along with others, but does not every work...If you could possible provide a download Link to CMW for PrimoC and possible provide a more in depth tutorial or written tutorial on how to do this, I would really appreciate that.
Download the file from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1749798
Steps
First put the rename the recovery file to recovery onlyy if it is already then keep it as it is
Now put the recovery in the file were fastboot is available
Ex.u put fastboot.exe and tecovery.img in a folder.named temp
Go into cmd
Type
Cd C:\temp press enter
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
That's it ur done

Kackered my phone and need some help if possible !
I have unlocked my one x using the HTC site then installed install-insecure-windows.bat as in this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1577671 in order to flash clockwork mod.
I unfortunately misunderstood the instructions and did not copy the clockwork mod img file or any other files on to the phone, i entered recovery mode and the phone got stuck on the black download screen. I hard rebooted my device and it is stuck in a reboot loop where it boots into the os then immediately reboots again.
I can enter bootloader mode but if i try to erase cache or flash from there it says -
C:\one>fastboot erase cashe
erasing 'cashe'... FAILED (remote: (00000008))
finished. total time: 0.000s
I have checked it sees the device and that seems ok -
C:\one>fastboot devices
HT257W103326 fastboot
Anyone offer any help ??

Sorry about that, could the mods move it or am i better staring a new thread ?
I have managed to flash clockwork mod in fastboot, does the battery have to be a certain lever before it will flash ? It just seemed to work on its own after an hour or so.
So now I need to get a rom onto the phone storage in order to flash, is this possible if i cannot get onto the phone os itself ?
Sorry for the noob questions, I have flashed a few android devices before but usually have removable storage, forgot the one x didn't !

in CWM go to mounts and storage then click mount USB.
in older versions of CWM this didn't work so you had to push the file to the sdcard with ADB, i'll post them just in case.
i would recommend updating rather then using this method:
first boot into the boot loader and go to fast boot then use
fastboot boot recovery.img
from there you can use ADB to push any file to the sdcard with
ADB push file.name /sdcard
Hey Guys, I recently saw the jelly bean update on a youtube video and I tried doing the same thing on my phone, which didn't work very well.
The video was very detailed and explained everything. I did the whole rooting thing and flashing thing. And the last step which involves unzipping the
cm10 zip file or something, when I did that, the phone said installation aborted. I freaked out didn't know what to do and I pressed factory reset.
Now I think my old and new both systems are removed from the phone. When I turn my phone on, It shows the HTC quality brilliant logo stays
there for few seconds and restarts again to the same HTC screen.
I gave the phone to a guy who said he'll try to fix but couldn't. If you guys have any idea please let me know how to fix it. Recently bought the phone
and don't wanna lose it over stupid update.
Thank you!

Make sure you have clockworkmod 5.8.4.0 or newer, if not, flash it:
fastboot flash recovery cwm-5.8.4.0.img
Then get the boot.img for the ROM you want to install and flash it:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot erase cache
Then, from recovery, go to mounts and storage and mount as USB. Copy the ROM you want to flash to the drive, unmount and then wipe the cache/dalvik cache and then flash the ROM from recovery.
If you get any errors, post them here.

Hey, Thanks for replying.
From recovery, I checked the clockworkMod Recovery version is 5.8.3.1. So it's old.
Now the thing is, Since I did factory reset and data wipe from the options, the zip files I added before, I can't access them.
And I don't know now how to attach my phone to computer so I can transfer those files.
Please let me know how to flash it, if you have any link to step by step procedure that would be great.
I am attaching few images that I am getting right now.
Also, when I press mount Usb from recovery mode, unable to open ums lunfile (No such file or directory).
Your recovery version has usb mounting problems. Upgrade to 5.8.4.0 and you will be able to mount.

Obviously from a command line, with fastboot in your path, and with the recovery downloaded, etc.
Guys look at his bootloader screen, it says EVITA - AKA DUAL CORE VERSION of the One X. @OP, you cannot install international ROMs on your version of the HTC One X. You're extremely lucky installation was aborted because if it proceeded, it could have hard bricked your device.
What I suggest you do is try flash another custom ROM that's meant for the evita or flash a RUU to return to stock

You need to go into the other forum for your model, try a search.
The way you flash a ruu is enter the mode you are in the pictures, then click fastboot, plug it into your computer after the ruu has downloaded. A ruu is a Rom update utility, it just flashes it all to stock.
It's a program you download onto your computer its an .exe if you're on windows then run it through and it will allow your phone to boot like its brand new.
Baring in mind all personal data will be lost.. but least your phone works.
Also I think if your bootloader is unlocked you need to relock it to run s ruu (I think)
Or you could just flash a Rom from your One X forum by following the instructions keep us updated.

Just go to the One XL forum and search there. You're not the first person to end up in the wrong forum.
Flashing an RUU requires plugging the phone into PC, locking the bootloader and double clicking.

Heyy, I went to the professional who fixes it and he is like I don't have the files so I can't fix it..
So unfortunately I have to do it by my self.
Now, thanks to you, I have searched as you told me and I found the RUU for my carrier which is rogers.
I have found a video that shows how to do it step by step to take it back to ICS. The only problem is that the RUU I found is a zip file, and when I extract it, there are lots of Img files.
But the video shows the RUU as an .exe file. Now I don't know what to do with the zip file.
Please let me know what should I do next. If I could find the .exe file I would have done everything according to the video but I couldn't.
Thanks!

have you tried to flash another recovery? try Philz one (the best version depends on the rom you want to try), connect to pc, mount usb as storage, copy a rom on the phone and flash it if it is bootloop maybe it's a bad kernel flash or a missing kernel flashing process
im not an expert or something but...how can i mount usb storage and copy rom when it won´t turn on?

no, if it's off you can't, but as buttons blink three times, maybe you can enter fastboot and so you can try to update recovery...
sorry, mine are only guesses as i've never faced such a condition, but if you can enter fastboot maybe you can recover the device
now it again turn on in recovery (if it is even recovery, i really dont know ). It shows this screen and i really know what to do, can you write it step by step? or post some link?
it's not recovery, it's fastboot
do this way: try to download again the unlock.bin from htcdev.com if you haven't got it, unlock the bootloader and flash the recovery i told you before, then enter recovery, connect to pc and select mount usb storage... then copy a rom zip on phone, reboot to bootloader and flash rom kernel, enter again recovery, wipe everything to flash a new rom and flash the zip.. you should be fine
