I have HTC Wildfire S (Telstra NextG Network). I have unlocked bootloader 2 days back and also rooted the phone. After rooting I accidentally uninstalled some of HTC core components with uninstall feature. Now the problem is it shows only HTC screen (green HTC logo) and nothing happens. Its not even showing "Testra NextG network screen" it was showing before this problem.
I have very limited knowledge on how to make my phone functional again. I don't know what is the procedure to get back the "Telstara Next G" package again. I am totally clueless on what to do next. PLEASE HELP ME. :crying:

Did you make a back up in recovery before you rooted?

Unfortunately I didn't make backup in recovery before rooting. I would really be grateful if guided step by step on how to get my phone functional again.
Solved at last.
Finally got help from following thread, so thought I should mention it -

Hey people
I recently got a HTC Desire from ebay, and there was no rom on it - it was just stuck at the splash screen. The bootloader was working, so I just thought a reflash would do the trick. I therefore downloaded a few RUU's and was trying them out only to find that none of them worked, not even the 2.3 update. After some frantic googling, I discovered that the phone was branded to vodafone, so I tried to RUU that one, and now my phone is stuck at the black HTC logo with the four exclamation marks at the edges. I can't S-OFF or even make a goldcard, since I don't actually have a ROM on the phone. What have I done? I might of corrupted the radio by the sounds of it, but I'm really hoping I haven't.My phone won't go into the bootloader anymore, and I don't know what to do. Could someone help me?
Go read bortaks guide, first post in Desire Q&A (stickies) and go down to number [4]

I have tried that. I have not been able to make a goldcard - none of the sdcards I have are working. I did try searching and reading around before I posted
Have u got another phone, r can u borrow 1? u can put ur sdcard in that to make a gold card

I have tried to make a goldcard using my xperia x8, but the two cards I have aren't being recognised after using the hex editor. It keeps saying they are not formatted.
Then first look for an usb unbrick guide, it should be easy.
Or -
send the phone back. You are supposed to get a phone in working condition, not some overpriced paperweight. Unless you deliberately bought the phone in such condition which is imho extremely foolish. To sell a phone in non working condition is outrageous! I hope you haven't left positive feedback.

The thing is, I think it's my own fault. When I got the phone, at least it went into the bootloader when you held the down volume button and pressed power on, but now it won't even do that. It's stuck at the black screen with the four exclamation marks at the corners. Is there anything I can do in fastboot, since that is what it's stuck it? The USB unbrick guide doesn't help because I can't get past fastboot mode...
Can anyone help?
Hello everyone,
I have used you guys in the past for other devices but never needed serious help, so here I am stuck in a looping hell
I have an HTC One X that I am trying to root and install the TWRP (I want to have an android that is factory set without the carrier info and bloatware ect)
The utility I am using is the HTC One X (Tegra 3/International) AIO Kit By Hasoon2000 v2.5. Here is my main issue:
I have successfully navigated all the steps to root the phone (Steps 1-5) and now when I boot into the bootloader I see the following,
***TAMPERED***
*** UNLOCKED ***
evita pvt ship s-on rl
hboot-2.14.0000
radio-0.23a.32.09.29
opendsp-v31.1.0.45.0815
emmc-boot
nov 26 2012,18:37:14:-1
Now from here it was my understanding that under "next, flash a recovery" I would simply pick "TWRP" and then click "flash recovery". This seems to work as the green bar in the top right loads briefly. After that I am at a loss. If I go to "bootloader" then go to "recovery" like the instructions say the phone just restarts and I see the Rogers splash screen again...
If it helps, when I try to flash the recovery using the "clockwordmod" it gives me an error "cannot load recoveries/cwm.img"
So to make this easier all I want is my phone to have nothing to do with the carrier on it, all traces of that wiped off at the single file level if possible.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have been at this for almost 6 hours straight
Your phone is not HTC One X International (endeavoru). DON'T flash anything from here or you will brick your phone. You have One X "evita". There is a specific forum at xda for your phone.

This is the correct forum to ask: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1538
I need to send my HTC One M8 back to HTC because the "vibration" function works intermittently (boo!).
I restored my phone with my backup. Then I turned my attention to getting "Tampered" removed. I followed a tutorial through but only to realize that I'm S On (and not the required S Off).
Can I remove the "Tampered" if I'm S On?
Last question, should I mess with the "Unlocked", i.e., try to "Relock" it.
I just want the HTC Warranty folks to: 1) see that my "vibration" function is not working and 2) send me a new phone or fix it.
Please help and thanks much!!!
Check this it should help

I just got my phone back from HTC last week, I sent it to them, rooted, unlocked, s-off and having ViperOneM8 rom installed. I figured all they was going to do was replace the camera lens, why would they even start it. It came back unrooted, s-on and stock installed. As a matter of fact, I couldn't use firewater this time to get s-off, I had to pay sunshine. So here is what I figured they did.
1) Unbox phone
2) Plug phone into computer
3) Run a program that installs the latest stock OS in it.
4) Fix problem
5) Ship back...
It has the same EMIE number, and my tempered glass protector was still installed, so I know it was the same phone. I think they do that to just about all phones, I have yet to hear that they rejected a phone because of it being rooted, etc....
Mine was the same, but I did revert everything to stock but left s off, come back with s on ?
Hi, I did the bootloader unlock, then flashed twrp recovery and rooted my one m8 to remove some default system apps. I did this as I liked the htc 10 concept, so followed it. Now after all that I, I did a reset of my phone to remove root and flashed back the original recovery file. And I relocked the bootloader to try to make it all back to normal and thinking that warning sign "This build is for development purposes only n so on..." will go. But the problem came when i did the relock of the bootloader, and restarted the phone I got stuck in fastboot/hboot. Restarted many times even did factory reset from stock recovery but still stuck on fastboot/hboot. So I had no option to unlock bootloader again and get my phone working .
Please I want to remove the "This build is for development purposes only n so on..." being in unlock bootloader or locked bootloader doesn't matter .

Now please note I have unlocked htc m8 Smartphone with S-on ....
Please, please. Use the search bar next time. But you have to be S-Off. There's no way to clear that message with S-On.

Hi. I have a problem with HTC M9 with stock rom. Phone without any modifications and software upgrade was made few weeks ago. Phone after start display HTC logo, few sec after I have black screen and restart. HTC support recommended me to do factory reset but I'm not sure if my lady have any data backup. So there is a question: it is possible to read any data like photos form this phone? I would be grateful for any help.
Phone details:
S-ON
Locked
Software status official
you've solved it?... without going to htc for support

Nope. Adb is the only way if you can't access the rom. Not sure if htc allow adb in their own software but if you don't have adb debugging enabled your goosed for a backup.
You're just gonna have to bite the bullet!.

Hi , I am facing the same issue.. HTC one m9 is stuck in the boot screen, when tried to do a factory reset had an error of failed to mount cache. HTC asked me to do a RUU, but my phone is from UAE and htc.com has ruu only for US phones. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
