So my htc one x screen shattered and htc said it would cost $200 to fix it. I went to an independent repair shop and they said they would replace it for 150. They used an ATT screen rather than a international screen -_-. Is there any difference between the two other than the logo? Will I have problems later on? the screen works fine for now save for some odd wrinkly discolorations at the left and right edge of the screen.
If its the same dimensions for the screen which it should be as the housing is the same. There is no need to worry about the fit.
To be fair it's probable that they use the same screen for both devices

thats what I was hoping. I just don't like the ugly att logo but oh well.

My white HOX has it too. But I can only notice it when it heats up significantly to reveal a slight gap between the screen and body.
...
I have it to, and it is also noticible when the phone gets warmer than normal. Im somehow trying to convince myself that it is not big deal

'm going to replace it .. I think the screen is not installed properly .. There is dust from entering the place where the body separates the screen on the right and left, above and below .. And also I can see the light of the alerts from the place that separates the body above the screen under company logo and front camera
sorry for my english..uaing Google Translate

Same here. It pisses me off because I actually never put it in my pocket and only got it 3 days ago. I want to replace it but here in the Philippines they wont replace it in store. I don't think I can wait weeks for a replacement. Its not that a big of a deal to me, I can only see it when I really look for it.
Hi there,
Just bought the HTC One V. The phone is really good so far but i have one issue with it, the bottom cover leaves a slight gap. i cut my sim card for it and there is still a gap.
Does anyone else has this issue?
Any suggestions
Thanks
Idon't have the issue. Mine fits perfectly. You shoul probably ask for a replacement.

I have problems with One V bottom cover too. It leaves a slight gap od the bottom left side (if you look the back of the phone).
This is my third One V.
First one had yellow ring around the display edges, T-mobile got me new immediatley. On second one display got unglued from the phone?!?!? I was amazed!! They gave me new next day.
And now the third one has problems with bottom cover.
I tried 3 different brand new phones in the T-mobile store and they all had this issue.
Honestly, now I hate this phone!
Can someone find why bottom cover cannot fit. Is microphone rubber pushing it out of the socket or is it somethig else??
Replacement. Mine doesn't have a gap either.

I also had this problem among a few others. My capacitive keys did not work at all and the touch screen didn't respond at the top half of the screen and so sent it in for repair. They fixed the main issue but broke the backlight of the back button and I can no longer use the chrome switch tab feature as I cant touch the edges of the screen. Gonna have to send it in for repair for the third time!

Today I spoke TO HTC Service Center and they told me to bring it to a repair center near me.
So I did. Normally they restore it while you are waiting but they where busy, I can come back Monday to get it back, they are gonna replace the parts that are necessary.
Beside the screen that is not responding and the capacitive keys there is also a yellow spot in the upper corner
I will hold my breath and hope everything is ok when i get the phone back.
I wish there is HTC branch anywhere near so i can send it to them
All i can do is sending it to repair man who usealy fix nokia phone
He may be able to fix it but he will take about 100$ and when i get it back it wont be as beautiful as it was before- probably it will have a big scrach on its cover-
By the was i have the same yellow spot on the upper side of the screen
Wondering what it is

It is said that some of the yellow tints are cause by heat in the phone because the heat is much higher due to it quad-core processor, you can just turn off the phone and let it cool down for few hours before turn it on again. If this does not work, it may be caused by leaked glue behind the screen. In this case, only let HTC replace the screen can solve this problem.

Got my phone back with a new touch module (LCD screen is replaced). All under warranty.
First thing I'm going to do is buying a screen protector now I have a new screen.
Never needed a screen protector on my HTC Desire but the screen of the HOX is really NOT scratch proof.
Sent it off for repair because it had screen fitment problems out of the box (screen was loose but didn't ripple, no yellow spots), the casing was perfect and not damaged. When I got the device back from repair, screen was replaced and tightened, but it now ripples on normal touch, has 1 dead pixel, light bleed around the bezel (can be seen in the video, top part of the screen, also around capacitive touch buttons), yellow spot in lower right corner when the phone gets warm AND the casing was damaged in several places.
I'm sending this video to HTC and will demand either my money back or a new device, it is unlocked, but this cannot be caused by software, so they should accept the warranty. Video:
Did they tell you which repair center they sent it to?

In my opinion this is the repair shop faults.
Either way this is unacceptable. Very sloppy work.
I am very curious how HTC will resolve this.
My last resort is to send my HOX or any other future devices back to their so called repair or service centers. Your major problems will be resolved but additional cosmetic problems will surface such as this gentleman's screen. My first and only experience is purchasing an EVO 3D gsm version from a local yahoo auctions seller in HK. I didnt want to nitpick but the screen had leaks of light when viewing in datkness and it wasnt aligned properly. So i thought what the heck..send it in for repair or servicing...got it back in a week with less light bleed but some of my capacitive lights werent lighting up completely. As if they never checked after other problems were resolved. I ended up selling it for a good 150 dollar loss since i am extremely picky with these screens. Just last week i got the HOX and the darn thing seems to be perfect from the factory but guess what..that small yellow spot pops up when the phone heys to 36 or 37 degrees... Much more annoying than a single dead pixel. I am having an EXCHANGE for another unit but i doubt they will be perfect. For some people stating they have no problems at all...they arent looking hard enough. There is always something imperfect with all the htc phones i have bought. Since the hd2. But whatever...their outter appearance are simply the best looking and i just couldnt pass it up.

@Tw1tchy I just know it was serviced by HTC Germany.
I think I'll get this one replaced, and when I get the replacement, I will just going to sell it and be done with this One X story, too much risk and I don't want to send my phone 1000 km from Croatia to Germany every time I find a problem.

or i'm just waiting JB to send it to repair again
Seriosly guys...what do you think they do with those opened ones? I guess they just sell it to those other not as picky as us customers eh? since they arent factory sealed like the Samsungs. I personally would never accept one that was opened up and fiddled around with. Just bad!

So, long story short.
I received my device which had screen flex and PUSHED the sevice senter to replace the LCD.
Got back the device today. The LCD Module (LCM) has been changed. But, they made some pinch on side of polycarbonate body, while replacing the LCD.
Also, the screen is more flexible in both left and right edges with loosely fixed screen on left center. Hope it becomes hard after some use and heat.
Just for information, i have replaced 3 devices and sent the fourth one to service center three times till now.
I have given up now & keeping the device. After owning HTC from HTC Hermes times, this is the first device i have seen this much quality control issues.
Earlier, I was confident enough to order HD2 and EVO3D from UK (Iam living in Dubai) when they release those.
Now, i lost that confidence with HTC. I still didn't unlock the device for the same reason. My first time with any HTC device without modding the ROM. HTC should be proud of themselves
I have light bleeding on my one x as well. Its quite annoying but you have to get used to it. I'm not risking sending my one away after I have already been without it for a month

Hi folks,
So now it happened, after I dropped my phone ten thousand times: the screen broke big time. I now also have two yellowish spots on the display. Touch is still working.
My questions:
1. What exactly do I have to replace?
2. There are kits available on amazon for approximately 60 euros, will they work?
3. Can I do it myself?
4. Any word on quality of the replacement parts?
Btw. I live in Germany.
Thanks in advance!

I replaced my screen last week, I bought an cheap screen from ebay, it was like €25,-
The screen is a bit yellowish all over, but with some app I added a bit of blue and it was pretty good.
My touch isn't fully working, on a small spot it isn't working but maybe I get a new screen because it's not good.
I guess you can better buy a OEM...
Also my screen doesn't fit well, but that can be my fault
It's not that hard to replace it, there a few guides on the web that helps a lot.
Oh, and you have to replace your whole screen
Hope this will help you a bit
