I can connect to any wifi network that require a password but I cant connect to the ones that are open. At university I used to be able to connect to the network, then a few seconds later it asks me to sign in, but for some reason now it wont say that, it connects to the network, then when i open up the browser and try to go any any websites it just doesnt work. It hsould ask me to sign into the network using my university's account but that doesnt come up any more...what can I do?

I was able to do it normally before using any rom. But now any rom that I use I just cant seem to be able to connect to it

I live in Jamaica (I'm using a T999 here) and my network allows me to tether free. The problem is when I try to turn on tethering and mobile hotspot it just turns itself off without even trying to connect. When I had my BlackBerry, I would just enter the apn settings and I was good from there. Do I need to get a app just to tehter?
You may try WIFI Tether in the play store. It's free.
At the same time, if you flashed JBFrost ROM, you can just toggle the Mobile Data on the pull down.

so i tried wireless tether and foxfi, and both cant get me to share my data.
foxfi showed that it connected, but when i tried to connect my tablet I got network timed out.
wireless tether says it got an error trying to connect.

I have the exact problem,my phone is unlocked and outside USA, Did you find a solution?, all I can find is solutions for the redirect page.
I have LG Optimus G in USA on Sprint Network running Imperium Initiative v1.02. First of all thanks to everyone on the dev team for awesome wirk - this ROM is light and fast. I have one issue - I can connect to wifi networks without a problem but when I go to browser or to download something I get a no-connection error. I have turned on and off, tried on multiple different networks, and tested each one for connectivity - all to no avail. Any suggestions?
Have u tried going to ur router settings and select a different channel?

Router settings in the phone? It happens at my office, at my friends' houses and on my home network. I don't have access to all of their routers. I can try on my home network, what do I have to do and how do I do it?
It might be a wifi interference. When u get home log onto ur computer and get access to ur router settings. 192.168.x.x, login and try selecting a diff channel.

I have a problem:
My N7100, purchased from Gerrmany and rooted with Perseus Kernel, cant stay connected constantly with network in thailand.
Especially if I turn on "mobile date" to use through 3g network. Most of the time the 3g sign appeas for like 2-3 seconds and disappeas, a block sign appears instead.. leaving me unreachable... cant call, get called or use internet.
Sometimes a few magic moments happen and I can use 3g internet for about 30seconds...
so for being halfway reachable, I have to disable "mobile date" and even then most of tehe time the block sign appears, cutting of conversations and so on...
I did a factory reset, tried sims from othe providers and checked apn.. nothing helped. wifi is working like a charm atleast!
I want to try o get the stock firmware to see if that helps but internetcafes in bangkok have only xp loool
the problem must be the hardware.. right?

I'm running stock unrooted now since the 4.3update.
I noticed now that I cannot connect to wifi routers without an Internet connection..
I race rc cars and we have an app. That pulls results from a laptop via wifi... When I attempted to connect I get an error "network connection disabled because Internet is slow" all other Android users can connect including other gs3... I just tried at home to get the same error. If I pull the phone line same error. So it appears I cannot connect to networks that don't have Internet connections..
This is a problem I never had before going official ota Rom...
Is there a setting I should look for in settings that maybe off?

now, i'm not tech illiterate at all but i just can't figure it out.

Go into networks, access points... Aka APN, and change the settings. E correct settings should be in q and a or general forum... Based on what you saying.. Its my guess. Could be wrong tho.

I had a problem with my internet on my phone after a flash, WiFi worked good. Calls and texts good. But phone internet was jacked. I had to reset my APN.. Sounded kinda similar....sorry for giving you another option. If yo tried it and didn't work , just say so.

My mobile data isn't the problem though, its my wifi, i cant access my home internet, I can access the local area network fine, but no internet, my mobile data works fine though (am sending this message via mobile data right now in fact)
Edit: fixed it, my modem/routers settings were really strange and messed up
