DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING YOU DO TO YOUR PHONE WHILE USING ANY OF THE INFORMATION LOCATED BELOW. IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT IS BEING DONE, PLEASE DO NOT TRY ANYTHING DONE HERE!
1) First of all you need is to Root your devices and unlock your Bootloader. (Belive me I tried to Customize without Unlocking BL and got HardBricked, yeah I know I've learnt by the hard way xD)
2) Make a Nanadroid Backup in case you mess up with your phone. To do it, you need to reboot into Recovery (Vol Up + Power --> After that press twice Volume Down and press Power Button. Then click "backup and restore" --> "backup" and continue.
3) Choose the rom (CRom) you want and also make sure it's compatible with your device. Do some research, in many cases the camera is the indicator if it's compatible or not (13M or 8M), any way Do some research. Download it and save it in the palce you want to work with it (I've done it all in my phone).
4) If you can get the Original ROM (ORom) from your device get it, it's better to have it, in my case I couldn't get it but I used the files from my device in "/" folder
5) Extract the CRom in to a New Folder (also extract ORom). Browse in the CRom into "system/" and find build.prop and open it with a Text Editor. Then open from your ORom the build.prop (located in "/system/" in your device or in "system/" in the ORom you downloaded) and here is the important thing. From ORom build.prop Copy the exact values of ro.product.model, ro.product.name, ro.build.description and ro.buildfingerprint and replace them in the CRom Build.prop. It's very important to replace this so your device could get the update fine. Zip it again and save it, it's ready to flash it.
6) Then you need the modem.img, try to find it in http://downloads.codefi.re/houstonn/lgog/modem (Thanks to CodeFire Team), or try to get it from Your device, The dir is "/dev/block/plataform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/" and there will be 3 files you need to copy "modem", "modemst1" and "modemst2". If you just have "modem" copy it and that's it. Also if you want to preserve your APN list, go to directory "/system/etc/" and copy apns-conf.xml.After flashing put those files again in their places and set up the correct Permissions table (Modem lrwxrwxrwx, apn-conf.xml -rw-r--r--)
**UPDATE: Don't worry to much for the baseband , I was doing some research and found that many baseband are the same for many variants. On the back of the phone find the FCC ID which is the one that determines the baseband frequencies of the device. Google it and check which devices have the same FCC ID as yours. Then download the modem.IMG and flash it **
7) Follow the instuctions for installation of the ROM, and after flashing the CRom that you've created and gapps, if you could found your modem.zip from Codefire team, then flash it.
8) And Voila! Your Custom-Custom ROM it's flashed! Wait for the first time booting and check if everithing is ok! If you're locked out of 4G/3G/2G check the APN's configuration to match with your carrier's. Hope it help you! :fingers-crossed:
**IMPORTANT** Remember to do this everytime you Update the ROM
If you found this usefull, don't forget to click the "Thanks" button
So, what you are saying is, it is possible to use the sprint ROMs on our devices? :highfive:
Yes, everything is possible with a little bit of tweaking
By now I've tested with my E976 ThinkingBridge and CM ROMs and everything is running like Charm

Hi, I got an E976
Let's say the ROM's modem works ok, what's the difference if I just leave the Custom ROM made for E975 build.prop untouched?

Basically is to preserve the integrity and information of your device. The first time you flash it you need to customize the builp.prop because the update.zip would fail to install the custom rom. After that, you can flash it within problems, but the ro.product.model, ro.product.name, ro.build.description and ro.buildfingerprint , especially the last two will be replace with the info of an other device, and this could bring you problems with your device, thats why you need to customize it each time you update your rom. If you want to modify your device to make it an E-975, the best option is to make a clean install and flash it with a E975.kdz with the exact baseband(as it's mention on the post, many variants have the same baseband). Hope it help you
you really do not need to flash an e975 rom via kdz updater to your e97x device just to flash a rom intended for a different device. follow guide below and you can flash any rom to you e97x :
You do this with 7-Zip/WinRAR
Note: DO NOT EXTRACT ROM!
In the ROM go to:
/META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script
1)Open updater-script with a script editor such as notepad/notepad++ (makes things 10x easier), or gedit if you use linux
2)Delete the first line of code (all the way up to the first semicolon you see) and delete the first semi-colon as well

Just to clarify, the part of flashing through KDZ is to convert a E97X into a NewOutOfBox E975 as it is said in the reply, and it's true, you can delete the ROM verifier line (1st one) if you just want to install the rom within preserving the info of your device in the build.prop .

Hi there, Thanks for the guide, it is very helpfull.
I have an E987 (south america's version of lg optimus g, without LTE), i followed your guide but in twrp i'm still getting error (7), in build.prop there is many lines that says e975
For example
ro.build.display.id=pac_e975-userdebug 4.2.2 JDQ39E eng.faust.20130603.184321 test-keys
ro.product.device=e975
ro.build.product=e975
ro.cm.device=e975
ro.pacrom.version=e975_PAC_JB_4.2.2-v22.3.0_20130603-184321
ro.modversion=pa_e975-3.15-03^b2013-184321
ro.aokp.version=e975_jb-mr1_milestone-1
ro.cm.version=10.1.0-RC4-e975
should i change all of them into e987 in order to work?, my device is white in the back, it has no FCC ID text, and it IS an optimus G, not a g pro.
What should i do???
Thanks in advance!!!
P.S. I couldn't find modem.img on the web, so i copied modem modemst1 modemst2 from my device. Thats right? i attach build.prop from my original firmware (btw i couldn't find the flashable file)
P.S 2: I should be able to port Sprint's LG optimus G roms aswell?

Hello, my device is the E977, I flashed the Paranoid Android ROM for the E975 and everything works great except that I have no signal, I downloaded the modem from the link you provided and flashed the E977 modem but still got no 3G or even EDGE, what am I doing wrong? I tried the rom Pacman v23 for the E975 and I didnt even had to flash any modems, it worked on my E977 just fine, why this one doesnt? help please

Hi friend!... I have the same problem on my E976. I flashed a stock rom (kdz) form europe, and then i´ve flashed modems from BELL (canada) and ATT (USA), these two are good to get 3G and HSPA, but not LTE. Links are below: (flasheable through CWM)
I don´t know if its a problem ob baseband or the ROM doesn´t admit LTE connection... does anyone knows what´s the problem here?

I have same problem As above. I am also trying in linux with xfstk but no luck, flashing is always a FAIL. Also if I had the RAW fw I could try to use Intel Phone Flash Tool Lite, but no RAW fw provided.
What is the GP Flag Override Value to ZE500CL (Z00D)?
Try uploading the ROM via TWRP , TWRP but did not work , so try via CWM and I bricked my phone . On power does not pass the Intel logo and when connected to PC recognizes it as a device: Coverview plus. If I try to enter the bootloader only displays a USB icon .
I tried to recover the intel software Xsftk XDA following tutorials without success. I think the problem is that these tutorials are for other models Asus Zenfone and none for ZE500CL ( Z00D ) . I managed to download the .bin files, but I think the problem when trying to update via Xsftk lies in the parameter : GP Flag Override Value , the value for other models are 0x80000245 , 305, 205 and 807 but not the value for ZE500CL appears .
If someone had this problem and has solved much you appreciate report by this route .
Thanks in advance to the whole community. !

Canada, right? You'll want the XAC unbranded CSC assuming they have an up-to-date XAC release. There's more than one way to get hold of the firmware but id recommend Frija from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s9/how-to/tool-frija-samsung-firmware-downloader-t3910584
instal it, look for the XAC firmware and download it. Unzip it, flash the relevant parts with ODIN (latest version). be prepared to wipe the phone, not sure if it can be done without a full wipe. This is how i moved from carrier-branded H3G CSC to BTU.

Odin version should be fine
Just need to know what android version you are on
If you can get into your phone check in setting - about phone -software information and post the baseband number.
Or in download ( odin ) mode there a line saying something like AP SWREV and post what is written.
Then will need to know what firmware you have downloaded and are trying to flash with odin
