Homebrew Note 10.1 Stand - Galaxy Note 10.1 Accessories

So I'm waiting for my accessories to come in and while I'm waiting, I dug around my house trying to find a way that I could stand my tablet up and watch Netfilx and/or do other things with when I came up with this... pretty creative if you ask me! HAHA
All you need is an empty cd/dvd spindle and that's it!

Nice idea

CD spindles work on almost all tablets and phones. I keep an old one on my desk at work.

If you don't know what that is, Google it. I basically decided I will own this the second it goes on sale. Anyone else feel me?

so its just a notification item? you still have to pull out the phone to respond or access all data right? a bluetooth earpiece/headset can tell me whos calling, switch through music, etc...
i really dont see the point. my phone is always either in my pocket or on my workdesk in plain view for me to easily see. Im not constantly checking personal email, sms, twitter/fb updates while at work or when im out playing or partying regardless.
Do you think it will be compatible with the EVO?
EDIT
They are and I am getting one in a heartbeat, I wonder what the battery is like on it.
EDIT 2
It says its compatible with the Galaxy S series and the HTC Desire, it also says the phone has to have bluetooth 2.1 do we are just fine!
And to the OP THANK YOU for showing me this.
EDIT 3
Well Ive been doing some digging forum and I found this nice spec
- Typical consumer battery usage time: 4 days
and its 69 EUROS or 96 bucks, nice little conversion there I dont mind paying that for one of these, it is also looking at a november release date too.
Being a very active college student, i will be getting one of these, as my evo has replaced my ipod, this should make the music player work better when im going between classes so im prolly gonna grab one

Whats the point of putting a 3.5mm jack on it, this is basically a wireless remote for your phone, not a media player

i think his point was why not make it a media player? a remote control for your phone is as useless as a remote control for your car stereo.
of course theres the likes of the bt3030 that can do that already.... hmmm
why get a phone with a huge screen if you're not going to use it =/
It's up for preorder at a few places. Anyone preorder it yet? I found a German outlet selling it the cheapest, but they don't ship to the US. Looks like it goes for $80 at Play.com but it also doesn't look like they ship to the US. Expansys does have it for $99...so I may just have to go with that.
I kinda want one O_O
Bought it, and am using it, and it is a bit buggy with the evo. The music player cannot be controlled from my experience, and the software freezes the phone sometimes. It shows "paired not connected" in bluetooth settings, yet still seems to work, but sometimes loses connection. I am looking for a Desire HD ROM port or a vanilla android build to see if I can get this thing working, but I do not want to lose 4g.

What does this have to do with the s2?
It could be paired with our said device could it not?
and im pretty sure i put this in the general section...general is very broad
and what does the galaxy s 3 have to do with our phone?

and I'm sorry for your ass of a mood, here you go...

Yup, was just about to reply to what you. haha but they have these kind of watches already. They sell a lot on eBay and some are good. Its just Bluetooth paired so you don't have to take out your phone. Makes you look like inspector gadget. Plus, I think thinkgeek.com has some too. I like the shirt that lets you know when wifi is near and how strong of signal.

Every shipping date they've previously stated has been missed. Although they seem to be quite insistent that they will start shipping "soon". They haven't told any personal customers any actual shipping dates. But Expansys seem to think that they'll be able to sell some from mid-April.
I wouldn't hold your breath.

I saw a preview of this watch and OS looks sluggish with android 1.6...2.3 would of been better. The Motorola ACTV watch looked way smoother, and it's rooted already i think lol..
Couldn't this be easily accomplished with apps on the iphone and, say, an ipod nano?
any update on this watch?

why would you do all that on a tiny ass screen? a watch is a watch and leave it at that.
you will always carry a phone anyway so all those things u do on your watch is irrelevant

[Q] Request for a Car Mode App

I am just wondering if any Developers on here are interested in making a good Car Mode app?
I am slowly working on making it myself but learning at the same time so might be a few months before I have a good beta.
Here is a mock up

Nice idea, hope you can get help.
I think it's a nice idea too. I would like to see your evolution in this, keep us up to date!
I guess since no one put their hands up I will just have to create it myself.
Q) What I want to do with the Music Card is make it interactive. So that once a song is playing the card then displays the Album Cover from the song that is playing with Play, Previous and Next buttons to control your audio so be able to leave it in the Car Mode. Is this possible to do? To have audio controls in one app for another?
Very cool
Judging by your preliminary mockups, I'm looking forward to see something developed. I'm currently using CarHomeUltra and, while it does the job, feels really outdated in it's UI. Good luck!
I would love to see this. If it works well I'd gladly pay a few bucks for it, too. Hope this becomes a reality!
I am working on it. Reading a few books to better understand developing Android and using eclipse. I think around Jan I should have a decent beta.

Yeah, it's a cool idea in theory but all you can really use it on is the TV remote or car/house keys due to the fact it's Bluetooth we're talking about and not GPS.

KREYOS Smartwatch on Indiegogo

Hey guys,
I saw this smartwatch on Indiegogo the other day and I think it's pretty sweet.

Looking at the specs sheet alone its definitely something.
What do you guys think? Get it or wait till more is out?

Well if that's the case, I doubt it'll be anytime soon. Seeing as there hasn't really been any leaks for a Google smartwatch so far.
Kreyos it is....for now.
I love the voice search thing. Hopefully it has full support for Google Now. A watch is useless without voice recognition.
However, I like to be able to stream music remotely to it and plug in my 3.5mm headphones. I know that's asking a bit much, but I think it's somewhat reasonable. Does anybody else think that should be a thing?
I'll wait for a Nexus watch. Google will have the most optimized watch for Android. Hopefully.
I backed this up the first day it was on indiepop. We'll see come november how it works with android phones. Even if an nexus watch does come out, I highly doubt it'll have a speaker, voice control AND be waterproof.
Ive been looking for a good smart watch for a while, have been waiting to see what comes about.
The nexus one i cant see coming out for a good 6 months + yet,
The new sony watch looks gorgeous but function is a bit boring, the greykos function looks good but i think
it looks ugly!
I thought so too at first, but I guess the design grew on me.

Haha. Smartwatch was implied, my good man. There is no way a watch can achieve its full potential if you can't enter text into it.
I've been using Casio watches for like the past 10 years. Great stuff, but I'm ready to make the switch to Smartwatches.
Just went ahead and the pledged for it.. Hopefully it's worth the 129$

Been a fair while since the last post here, but just to let anyone seeing this know Kreyos STILL haven't sent out these damn watches.
The first 5000 have been sent via ship to the US but now have apparently been stopped by the US longshoreman contract negotiations, this being the fourth delay in shipping.
I've backed out and bought a Gear Live watch instead.
Android Wear shows far more promise than Kreyos' watches and I suggest anyone that wants their watch before Smartwatches are a thing of the past should just ask for a refund and get something that can actually ship before hell freezes over.
