GS3 broke, Sending it back to Samsung, I have a few question.. - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Hows it going people. My GS3 suddenly stopped reading my SIM card and now it says "no SIM emergency calls only". I tried a couple of different sim card and its still showing the same message. I want to send it back to Samsung to get it repaired/replaced.
The phone is currently rooted, and when I boot the phone into the software upgrade screen(with the yellow triangle, VOL down, home, and power) it shows a software counter. I want to get this phone back to stock so Samsung won't give me a hard time.
Sorry if this is a noob question, and Thank you in advance for your help. Have a blessed day.

T-Mobile Dash doesn't want to boot

Hey guys, i just got a new T-Mobile Dash and it's started acting up from day 2. Turned it on today and it doesn't work, it doesn't get past the Windows Mobile screen (from what i've seen this looks like a fairly common issue). After reading around i've tried to flash to numerous roms but only 2 of the official t-mobile roms have worked (others gave error 270, wrong vendor, wrong device, etc) but still the phone doesn't get past that screen. I've tried to do the hard-reset trick a bunch of times and still no go, any clues? Thank you.

Take out the memory card and try to boot her up. If that does not work.. call T-Mo and get a new one
To get past the error 270, download the SDA Unlock app. That should get you past the error there. As for not getting past the Windows screen, I had that problem too. You should be able to get it working by hooking it up to the charger. I found that my Dash was not reading the battery as having a charge. I am not sure if I have solved the overall problem yet but, just in case, you might avoid using the USB as a charger and go with the wall charger. Just keep it on the USB long enough to sync and unplug.
Hope that helps

do a hard reset hold da 2 soft keys and press the on button keep holdin da soft keys until u see a screen asking u do u want to do a hard reset hope dat works
Thanks for the responses guys but i've already tried all that. The only thing i haven't been able to try is do a hard reset with the wall charger plugged in, for some reason it doesn't matter how many times i do the steps it never shows me the black screen. I might be on the same boat as you because the battery i got with the phone is some cheap counterfeit chinese crap. I'll keep trying to get to the black screen with the phone plugged in but any other help would be greatly appreciated.
Btw, i can't do anything with T-Mobile because this is an unlocked phone i got somewhere else and can't return it so i'm stuck trying to make it work.
Check sticky to make sure doing correctly
Hard-Reset & Bootloader there is 2 x options there.
I was doing it right.
So after a million retries i got the phone to boot and do the cold boot thing. Then, i did the usual steps for putting a newer rom with WM6.1 on it (RUU_Excalibur_WM61_Kavana_080408_WWE). It worked, rebooted and went into the home menu, i thought i had brought it back from the dead until i inserted the sim. I got the sim failure message and when i pressed done it crashed. Now it won't go into the home menu no matter if the sim is inserted or not. Already tried to see if the sim was making good contact by putting pressure on it, no change.
This is too frustrating.
Ok so i've semi gotten it to work by booting it up without a sim, turning flight mode on, inserting the sim and then turning flight mode off. I get asked for my pin, the phone registers and i can make/receive calls. The problem is that a) it eventually loses the connection and b) i don't want to be doing this every time i turn the phone on.
Any ideas?

[Q] Problem with Droid Incredible

I am a Sprint customer but my daughter is visiting for the summer and she has had a problem crop up with her Incredible.
She is stock with all updates running 2.3.4. All of a sudden yesterday all of her calls would go to voicemail she could not text and when placing an outbound call she gets a message saying an "error has occured and to power down her phone and that if it doesnt work to call Verizon. Her phone is on her mothers account who is on vacation on a cruise so tech support refused to help.
I have factory reset the phone and still has the same problem.
Any advice would greatly be appreciated.

After you did the reset, did the phone reactivate ok? Try dialaing *228 and select option 1. If that dosent work, i would flash an ruu thru hboot. Download this file http://dinc.does-it.net/Stock_Images/4.06.605.3/PB31IMG.zip, and place it on the sdcard in no folders. Power off the phone, pull the battery and reinsert. Hold the vol down button and power button until a white screen appears (hboot). After a few secs it will find the file and prompt you to press vol up to update. When done it will prompt to press vol up to reboot. If it worked the phone should boot normally and prompt you to setup and activate the phone. Hopefully you will be able to make calls and text.

My Note won't shut down. Please help.

Hi All,
I just received a brand new Galaxy Note II from T-Mobile.
When I put in the battery, the phone automatically start up. After the initial setup, everything else seem to function normally.
When I tried to shutdown the phone (hold power button for ~3 sec and seelct "Shut down"), it would shut down and restart again by itself.
I tried factory reset, but that does not help.
I hope I don't have to send it back to T-Mobile, and wait for a new one,
Any ideas???
Thank you in advanced.

If you have not rooted it or flashed custom firmware on it, I would advise sending it back so that you get a device in very good condition.
You don't want to be stuck with a faulty device from day one. If you are able to get to a local T-Mo store, you probably should go there and see if they can give you another one in its place.

could be a fault with ur external sd card.....remove it before u attempt to shut down the phone.
Hey man just exchange the phone. A specially you from T-Mobile
Thanks guys. I will exchange the phone then.
Can I just bring it to the store and exchange it or I have to send it back? I am stuck at work now and cannot call TM.
Also, what about the rebate? Should I send the rebate using the new phobe or the old one?
Will my rebate still be valid?
Darn, what a pain!
I had a similar issue with my first note, it was caused by a short in the usb port, probably caused by moisture in my case at least, you try and examine the port and if you spot anything odd.

[Q] Stuck in ODIN Mode, Please Help! Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4

Hey guys! I'm new to this forum, so bare with me if this thread is in the incorrect category and my limited knowledge of all things Samsung.
My sister had hooked up her Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 to my laptop so that she could print out text messages for court. After a while, she said "something popped up on the screen to download stuff." While whatever this was downloading on my laptop, my (2 y/o demon) nephew pulled her phone off of the cord. When she went to turn it on, the screen said "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again." In the upper left-hand corner, it says "ODIN MODE" (in red) with a bunch of information about the phone underneath it. Ughhh, headache an a half so far.
So, I downloaded the Kies program to my laptop and tried doing what the phone (yelled at) asked me to do. However, when I put the IMEI number in like it requested, it said that either that or the model number was wrong and to try again (model number was right). Then I tried the serial number. Then I tried all the other numbers on the frigging box. No luck. -_-
Now, my frustration level is at an all-time high because I can't figure this out. So, I called none other than the Samsung Tech Support. For over an hour, me an STS Jared couldn't figure out how the hell to get this out of ODIN Mode. Now, before you all start spouting ideas and calling me out for stupidity that may be clear to you but completely unclear to me, I have tried the following: removing the battery & powering on, powering down then powering on, & powering down then pressing the volume down button and the power button then selecting the volume down button to not go to the custom OS thing.
Guys, I'm at a loss. Please, what do I do?! I don't want to have to send this to get repaired if I can do it myself.

Phone won't boot

Hi All,
My phone will not boot. I have tried soft resets multiple times. It will not even boot after I selected the factory data reset by holding down the volume down and power button since it seems like that requires a full boot to reset. During boot it shows the LG logo and sometimes makes it to the AT&T logo but after that either black screens, back to the LG logo and powers off, or boot cycles and keeps showing the LG logo multiple times. I have taken out the SD card and tried all these steps with and without it. Took out the sim card and reseated it. The phone is stock and not rooted.
Let me know if you guys need more information or have any ideas.
Thank you all and I'm sure this is been solved before, but I'm at work and don't have time to research so thoroughly through all the threads/posts.
if it's not rooted and stock, i'd send it back to lg under warranty

I have already put in a ticket to LG before this post for their return shipping information and repair. I was just hoping by some miracle that someone had a fix besides a factory reset since it won't even boot to allow the factory reset.
Thank you
Ok, sorry for the lacking help! Good luck, hope someone else replies with a suggestion
This just happened to me too.
Shows the lg logo. Sometimes the att logo.
But, just doesnt boot up. All i see is a blank screen :/
From everything i read here on XDA it seems that many of the phones are faulty.
Symptoms are almost identical. Outta no reason reboots and dead phones. Many of them are stock not rooted.
I have still no answer from LG about mine. Hope to hear soon. Something is going on with these phones but what causes it.....that`s the question....
The same thing happened to my H-815 model. I went to bed listening to YouTube and woke up to a dead phone. The LED doesn't come on when charging. Just like you, when I turn it on all I see is the LG boot screen and then it shuts off. The phone repeats this twice and then doesn't turn on again.
