Re: [ROM]UNOFFICIAL CM7 Nightlies (January 21, 2013)
Hmm :/ idk how to fix this kind of stuff I'm just syncing from the repo and compiling it maybe tomorrow's build will fix it after I repo sync again
EDIT!!: did you guys try flashing a different kernel? Idk if that's the case but it might be.
Anyhow, just glad that actually booted :thumbup:
Re: [ROM]UNOFFICIAL CM7 Nightlies (January 21, 2013)
Recommended kernel is aeroevan's 0.8 bfs try that
http://vivow.pcharpoon.com/kernels.html
Has anyone else tried this? If so, still CDMA issues? I'm asking cuz I don't wanna flash right now if not, since I got school stuff.
GSM is not working too. Tried "GSM Only", "WCDMA Only", "GSM/WCDMA" and "Global" but nothing.

awesome, downloading now. thanks again derek. so just to confirm, this is updated/newer than the previous nightly 252?
*edit* haha completely missed the changelog
I like the title. It's not a ROM, it's simply a "kang". lol
What's the background on 7.2? Is it what the latest nightlies are based on?
sweet been checking out the stats you have been posting and very excited DLing now

Still having those MMS issues. Check out the attached pictures (a funny comic I think many will relate to ). The first is the original (well, it was normally a PNG but I converted it to JPEG so I could upload it), and the second is how it was sent/received. You can definitely see the drop in quality. I'll stick with Darkside Sense 3.5, but will keep my eye on this ROM anyways. It looks really promising. Thanks for all your work, TDJ.
Something from tdj on my bday now thats a present. Thank you for your touch4g dedication.
(Just realized posting this the day after oh well still an awesome bday gift hahaha as the release date was the 27th)

But don't get it twisted. This is not cut and paste. This is compiled from source and cherry-picks pulled from r.cyanogenmod.com using git. All the kang means is that I am using cm7 source and using cherry-picks from other peoples patches. I have optimized and added some of my.own things as well and I am building my own kernel for this. I need to update the op, its a little bare still. I just wanted to get the ball rolling while I had some extra time

Before you install CM10: Preparation (First three are optional. If you want to start fresh, these can be skipped)
Install AppBak from Market, run it and save a list of all your apps.
Install SMS Backup and Restore from Market, run it and backup your SMS history.
Install Call Logs Backup and Restore from Market, run it and backup your call log history.
Boot into CWM5 recovery. Make a full backup. You will need this backup later if you decide to go back to your previous ROM and data.
WARNING: Many apps will Force Close crash if you restore data from a previous ROM.
Install
Use CWM5 or CWM6.
Warning: Only use this recovery to flash CM10. Otherwise, you risk bricking your phone!
Wipe data and cache.
Flash update*.zip.
Flash gapps*.zip. You must flash gapps after every upgrade to CM10 since /system is formatted, wiping your previous add-ons.
Reboot phone.
After you setup your Google account, reinstall the three apps from Market in order to restore most of your apps, call log and SMS history.
Warning: Do not restore backup data of system apps!
If you restore a bad backup with cached settings in telephony.db in data/data/com.*.*.telephony it can break MMS.
It seems that restoring backups can also break Calendar sync.
Upgrades
Upgrades from previous versions of CM10 are the same process as install, except you do not need to wipe anything. Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to even wipe cache and dalvik-cache when upgrading between CM10 versions. You only need to wipe if you are doing a major upgrade, switching to a different ROM entirely, or attempting to fix bugs caused by bad backups or corrupt app data.

Hello. Except the camera and/or kernel, is this (Arco's) CM10 post the same with the other "pure" CM10 posts (I have seen a total of 3 already, including this one.)? If yes, can I also request the said posters to consolidate the CM10 posts, so that there will be less confusion on the part of other users?

New build up!
v1.0.1: Changelog
New build up! Now with odexed and deodexed builds!
Hey guys, I know it's been a while since I've posted an update, but here I am, just letting you know I'm still here! I was planning on having a build out here these past few days, but my main drive in my build server failed . I'm working on getting it back up and running, but it might be a few more days before I can get it working again. I will have a build up here as soon as possible, and thanks for hanging in there guys!
Version 1.1.0 has been released. Changelog is as follows:
### 1.1.0
* common: update to android-4.2.2_r1.2
* SoMeX: add dictionaries and gesture keyboard support (CM)
* common: add PrivacyGuard support (incognito mode) (cyanogen)
* settings: add PrivacyGuard manager (slimroms)
* common: add SMS Security support (lithid)
* phone/contacts: add T9 dialer and landscape dialer functionality
* phone: Make going to call log after call optional (CM)
* libcore: patch BOTH master-key security exploits! (AOSP)
* phone: add transparency to incall screen (fitsnugly)
Deodexed builds are up, odexed will follow later today.
Just an extra note, you should no longer need to use the modified gapps I provided for gesture keyboard, you can use the official gapps now. Link is in OP.

Hey man can't wait to check this out. Do you think you could attach the libjni_latinime.so from /system/lib/ that's working for Android's built-in swipe? I got a big collection of them but just wanted to check which one's worked for your ROM. I think this would be useful for people who like to use a custom gapps or no gapps at all (like me). Just gotta make sure to 'chown double-O chmod 0644 it. Thanks for thebrelease and changelog!!

Hey, that actually isn't how I enabled the gesture support. The file you are talking about is present in the official gapps (link in the OP).
I had to add dictionaries and an extra overlay file. The commit is here: https://github.com/SomethingExplosi...mmit/f8931aa078e5b97430e882bacb74b7cc9e2debf1

Hey guys, 4.3 builds are up! Test em out and let me know how they run! I tested a bit and it seems to be pretty stable, let me know if there are any issues.
The gapps have been updated for 4.3, so you need the new package (updated in OP) to flash with this zip.
Also, Google's dialpad autocomplete has replaced the CM T9 dialer, and will need to be turned on in the Phone settings if you want to use it (it's off by default).

| CM10.1 & CM10.2 Nightlies |
Alright, so I'll be posting CM10.1 and CM10.2 builds here. I can't guarantee I'll post them every night, but I'll do it pretty often. Issues and behavior should be identical to dastin's builds, however these will be more up to date, and include a few new tweaks. Enjoy!
Tweaks applied to both CM10.1 and CM10.2
Code:
* [Kernel] Updated to Linux 3.0.93
* [Kernel] USB Charge rate bumped to 650ma
* [Kernel] SHA1/AES Optimizations
* [Kernel] memcopy tweaked for performance
* [Kernel] UKSM
* [Kernel] Increased MMC write timeout
* [Kernel] Many other small tweaks.
* [General] Included Sunbeam live wallpaper (from google play edition phones)
Code:
#include
/*
* Your warranty is now likely void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* spontaneous combustion, or any other host of cosmic penalties
* which may befall you, your family, or your phone.

Yep, all I do is wipe cache and dalvik, and flash it.
Of course I have to flash a MMS fix afterwards but if you're on sprint that doesn't apply.
EDIT: For everyone else, how would you guys feel about me merging a few non-standard features/options? I'd like to give this rom a bit more freedom, just not all cluttered like some of the other popular roms.

It's your ROM, do what you want. Non standard features are great in my opinion.

I like updated kernel and speed/battery related changes (if possible). Also like linaro or google 4.7 compiled (if it even matters).
Just my thoughts.

I'm looking into compiling it with linaro. Luckily, there's a bunch of patches floating around that should make it compile.
Also, Anyone wanna vouch for the battery on this build? Just want to make sure some of my tweaks didn't mess anything up. Hard for me to tell since my area has terrible reception and my phone will die quickly no matter what.
I would but my E4GT is WiFi only. My wife and kids can game on it for about 6-7 hours

Also, I'd like to announce that over the next few days I'll have a little bit of free time (I've just worked a 8 hour shift followed by a 5 hour shift, a few hours of sleep and then another 8 hour shift), so I'll be able to look at integrating new tweaks into the rom. So if you see multiple builds on the same day over the next few days, that's because I'm working on it.
Also: many thanks to anyone that can successfully merge BFS 406 (or 413) into my kernel. I've tried so many times and it never builds. https://github.com/blasphemy/android_kernel_samsung_smdk4412
dastin has 4.3 out now, what do you guys think about nightlies for that?

I built a version, data isn't working for me either. We'll stick with CM10.1 until that is working.
