-Wifi and Bluetooth on whole time
- Tons of texting, a lot
- Over 1 hour of phone calls on Bluetooth
- Over 3 hours of A2DP streaming
- Periods of no signal (subway)
- Screen on for 2 hours
- Google Reader and Web browsing
- Used the phone as I would normally without thinking about battery at all.
Very very happy. UPDATED with recent screenshots before I plugged it in.

Out of interest, how many times have you charged your phone (0%-100%)?
Never drained it to zero and started using it right away without charging it. Its been charged to 100 twice already. My uptime is 73 hours and that's exactly how long I've had the phone.

Wow! I wish mine was as good as that, seems to be getting better with each charge though, which is a positive.
Most I have got is 12,
Hopefully this will increase over time

Probably dim screen. Usually screen takes 60%-70% of the power.

Honest question, how many times are you more than 12 hours from sleeping or relaxing in your house?
12 hours is more than adequate for a normal user
This is mine after a fresh wipe and no apps installed. Just thought i`d see how it did with normal use.
Here's mine; at a point the phone got itself shut down for some reason, and I couldnt get it restarted at that moment, so I left it like that, and when I could turn it back on, it was quite warm around the camera unit, and also the battery was pretty much drained - thats what you can also see on the screenshot at the "20minutes" part of t he scale. After I've removed the battery and put it back, the phone was working for quite a while again, like 12 more hours.
I'm sure auto brightness helps as it keeps screen dim but during my use it was brighter especially outdoors. My whole point is there is no secret, you should use the phone as you would like it. One thing I could have done I'm sure to improve battery life is turn off wifi and bt when they weren't in use and possibly not have as many apps running but then what's the point in having the phone?: D

I get around 11-13 hours. Not too impressed. My iPhone 4S gets 20 easily. I'm really conservative on my Nexus too because doing anything intensive (games, video recording, youtube etc) really rapes the battery. I'm guessing some of you turn off auto sync or something.

I'm currently on 1 day 1 hour, with 50% left. Although with light usage.

true, just a pain in the ass to plug in.
would be nice if it lasted 18hrs so if I can wake up, stay out late, and then plug it in when I go to bed

I was able to do that last night but honestly not a big deal plugging it in.
It's simple really - the more you use the phone the worse battery life is but that's because you used the phone more! I never use the phone LESS just for battery life because then you're doing yourself and the phone injustice.
43% - 14h.. screen taking up 48%
from what I can see, apart from the screen, the biggest battery hog is wifi/3g

So JuiceDefender works fine for you? I just read that alot of users had problems with ICS and JD. Would be great if it worked though!
Here's mine. Since I was at work all day I only got time to play Dillo Hills for about 20 mins but I've found the battery is REALLY good after flashing the Android Revolution ROM. MoDaCo causes too much drain IMHO.
Battery life isn't too bad on mine. I got mine on the 10th and I used it right out of the box. Battery life wasn't that great until I did a charge to 100%. The OTA update didn't change much for me in regards to battery. Currently at 21h uptime and I'm at 32%.
Does anyone know which device has a better battery life? I'm having hard like deciding which one to buy and I care about battery life the most in a phone. So if anyone knows please reply!
After owning them, I can say Note 2 has, say 15-20% better battery backup than iPhone 5.

I can't speak to the iphone 5, but the Galaxy Note 2 is by far the best battery life mobile device I have ever used.
Unplugged when I wake up around 730-8am, Pandora in the shower and while I get dressed, gps/google maps/pandora on the way to work, web browsing, downloading, some games during the day, pandora and sometimes gps at lunch, browsing, downloading in the afternoon, gps, google maps and pandora on the way home, it's always above 50% when I get home around 6-7pm. Just as a test I left Pandora running when I got home once and didn't plug it in, by midnight I still had 20%+ battery left.
This thing is a BEAST on battery life. I cannot imagine the iphone 5 with much smaller battery being better.... possible maybe, but not likely.

My guess is that GPS is needed when outside to ensure that phone is trackable in case it is lost/stolen.
For smartphones, Note 2 battery life is only second to RAZR MAXX, which has a 3300mah battery and a smaller screen.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Iphone 4 bttery 1400mah
Iphone 4s battery 1450mah
Iphone 5 battery 1450 mah with larger scrren and afaster processor
So apple has increased the size and functionality of the phone and given somewhat the same battery power
Our phone note 2 has a 3100 mah battery and would beat the ip5 hands down
I was on ip4 and the battery was wery good my friends 4s battery draind like hell and he switched to ip4 again ans the same reasonhe didnot buy aiphone 5 cause the battery is same asthe 4s wt abigger screen and 4g on idont think the baterrys gonna last
The only reaso i changed frm s2 to note is fr battery life and i am gettin 3 times more battery than my s2 andd abouttwice as much than the iphone 4 which is by date the best iphone in tems of speed and battery life
So i can say buy note2 or a iphone4 if u want agood battery life
I am happy to hv switched over to note 2
iOS is much lighter and well optimized than Android, so it doesn't actually mean 1450 mAh battery of iPhone 5 will give a bad backup or something.
I really am enjoying the iPhone 5 battery backup, getting almost 2 days out of it. But as I said, Note 2 gives little better backup, at least 20% I would say.

In Iphone is you get is an app drawer. There are no home screen, widgets, and the dozens of other features available in android. In an Iphone, when you put an app in the background, it pauses the app, as opposed to android, which keep the app running in the background. Does that make it lighter than android? Sure, but I don't know if I'd call crippled functionality and giving users the bare minimum as "optimized", but whatever floats your boat.
Works about as long, if not longer than my G1 with extended battery.
with moderate use the battery runs to 75-80% Leaving it on all night I barely lost any battery. It was ready for day 2.
After heavy use it was at 50% by midnight(from 9am)
It's all to do with individual usage. Different hardware and different operating systems make it impossible to compare.
Surely iOS vs Android would be more of a deciding factor?
The Note ii battery is excellent.

True but on the other hand you don't need battery monitoring cpu apps like andeoid which can cause problems from pos apps thats cause wakelocks like ebay etc.one thing I like about iPhone is the single push notification service which runs which handles all push traffic and doesn't rely on phone having multiple data connections open to random foreign servers, google should do something similar.. There are some good points of iPhone that google should steal as apple does itself, PNS is one of them. But I'm not going to turn this into an apple debate.
Those with note 2, with heavy usage did u ever have to charge it twice a day? Heavy usage as in watching lots of YouTube videos, browsing the web, texting, using a bit of GPS and such

That's the same reason an Escalade will have a bigger gas tank than a Yaris, even though the latter is "lighter".

I currently have the Galaxy S3 which is one of the best devices I have ever owned. Unfortunately the battery is quite disappointing. I only get 7 hours of battery life on heavy use (Wifi off, screen off, GPS off and only 3G) and I am thinking about switching to the Note 2 which has a superior battery.
My question is: is the Note II's battery life vastly superior to that of the S3 or isn't it that big? How long does your phone last on heavy usage?
Thanks
I regularly get 5 hours screen on time. I have no issues making it through a 15 hour day on a charge. The Note2 has a 3100mah battery, even with the bigger screen it will do better then an S3. I only owned an S3 for 20 days and returned, so I really don't have a clear idea of what battery life was like. At the time I liked my Note1 better and returned the S3.
All right thanks. Does the Note 2 get hot often?

i Have them both and the N 2 isway better i get easily 7 hours screen . The phone never gets hot. Its vety fluid. I hate using my s3 now lol. I might sell it for a grey note 2
Swyped from another galaxy
I have an S3, used if for about 4 months (wife has it now), and I can easily say the N2 has MUCH better battery life. I got maybe 7-8 hours out of my S3 (moderate use during the day) before I had to charge, the N2 I can get about 12-14 hours, same amount of use. The S3 is a great phone, but the N2 is much nicer as far as battery life, and is just so much more 'snappy' to use.
Much better battery than s3. Mine gets warm at the top around the camera area if I play need for speed most wanted for about half an hour or more straight. But not as hot as my hox got

My Note 2 battery lasts 30~35 hours with moderate use. That includes gps off, wifi on always, 3g off, 20~30 minutes of voice calls, 4~5 hours screen on, everything in sync (dropbox, skydirve, camera uploads to both dropbox and google drive, gmail, etc), browsing, tweeter, and some games. My experience with Note 2 is much better than Note 1 and the good thing is it does not get hot like Note 1 or One X (could reach upto 47 C even with few minutes of game playing). Very moderate temperature (max 35 C) even after playing 3d games for some time.
Using galaxy n7100 i have 10:00 hrs screen on, and using gsIII i had 06:30 hts screen on.

It depends on your usage. I get about 3-3.5 hours of screen time, because I use my phone for instant messaging and downloading and uploading, that's all. I mean, I use the calendar, and other apps. But 99% of my battery usage is screen + data. I go to bed with about 1.5 - 2 hours of screen time with 30-50% battery life. A lot of wifi, but at work no 3G (hardly 2G!) and very low wifi signal. So I imagine a lot of the drain is from the strain of trying to hold onto data connections while I continually send messages / pictures / download / upload / etc.
But for sure it has a VERY good battery. I had the note 1, my partner has a S3 and the Note 2 has great battery life compared. Once again, it depends on your usage.
Just wanna know the difference coz im due for an upgrade and considering to get OGpro

I had the VZW version of the SGIII and just bought the ATT version of the OG Pro. Battery life has been outstanding. It definitely lasts longer than the SGIII. I get good service from both carriers with ATT edging out VZW ever so slightly at home. I easily get through an entire day with OG Pro where the SGIII needed a charge toward the end of the day if it was being used heavily. When we were in Disney World last month, the SGIII couldn't make it much beyond 12 hours.
The UI from LG is zero lag and very fluid. This phone is about the best kept secret around. I tried the HTC One but my contacts wouldn't sync in the car and the lack of an SDCard and 16GB of internal storage had me spooked. I'm very happy with the OG Pro.

S3 vs G Pro battery life
Gotta agree with Jammol. Can not compare the two. S3 I had lost juice doing nothing. My G Pro is fantastic when it comes to battery time. I've owned it since the day it released and I still check my battery status and am blown away...
Lol about the same are you kidding me. Sgs3 battery sucked even sgs4 battery sucks compared to this phone. lg optimus g pro battery is way better not even a comparison.

Depends on usage. The OGP screen uses more power than the SIII, so if you leave them both running with screens on high brightness, I would say the battery life is about equal between them. In any other usage model (particularly heavy voice usage), the OGP lasts much longer. Also, the OGP screen gets much brighter so it can easily be read in full sunlight. I could never read my SIII clearly in the sun, even fully cranked up.
I upgraded and never looked back. The OGP is better in every way except (i) size, but that is obvious just by looking and if you want a big phone, then size isn't a draw back; and (ii) hackability, at least until someone gets the bootloader unlocked.
...I should have prefaced that I always ran tasks aokp..and I have never had an android device last me more than 12 hours or so..idk..everyone uses their phones differently..I was just reporting my experience

Slightly off topic but I highly recommend using Greenify. I recently switched from a S3 to the Optimus G Pro. I agree that the OGP appears to have much better battery life, however Greenify will make that even better.
Sent from my LG-E980 using xda app-developers app
Never had a S3, but at 50 percent brightness, set to auto, with the quadcore core battery save switch toggle, and thermals turned off, i got 40 hours of device on time and over 4 and a half screen on time. YMMV but this phones battery life is phenomenal for its size and sheer speed.:highfive:
I came from an S3. The OGP last longer in every regard. Screen off time is the most dramatic though. The S3 bleeds battery just from having data on. Even leaving WI-Fi active, the OGP loses very little.

I swear my SG3 must have been defective, because without even using it, it lost battery life as if I was benchmarking it. OGP is a dream come true in terms of battery life.
I would take this phone over the Note anyway. It's night and day. Not only is the battery awesome, the phone just out performs anything I've had android related in the last 2 years. Tried the HTC one, didn't care for it as much. Agreed, this phone is a hidden secret that outperforms anything I've ever had to date. Including my iPhone 5. Battery lasts more than a day, I'm a moderate user who's limited by nothing but work. When not working I'm on it all the time! Hope this helps somene

I can get as much as 10+ screen on time with my Note 3 though 8-9 hours is more normal. That's with -5-6 or so hours of SlingBox/Netflix/HBO GO/YouTube streaming with Web, Note taking and email all day. I've watched whole NFL games with my SlingBox in HD with 40% brightness and still had 55-60% battery left to give you an idea. I run my Note 3 with 25% or so brightness most of the time unless I'm streaming video content. I'm not into a gaming much on my phone though. I don't want the burn in with Amoled displays so I keep my screen low unless i need it up.
I don't know a lot about the G2 but the Note 3 is a beat with battery life. The SS is from a few days ago with 4 episodes of Breaking bad and an hour of the Super Bowl streaming with my SlingBox. Damn GF hauled my ass out of the house for an hour during the SB. That's 5+ hours and still 47% battery left.
Stock battery life = anywhere from a day and a half with 12-16 screen on hours to a full days use with 8-12 hours screen on.
Zero lemon im getting up to 5-6 days with at least 24hrs screen on time but have seen 36hrs screen on before, minimum battery life i have gotten was a solid 48 hrs with heavy use and 26-32 hrs screen on.

I'm running stock ROM but removed bloat, CIQ, running leankernel and typically go 3 days between having to charge the phone.
I am on WiFi 90% of the time, and mainly just use the phone for checking SNS, email, and some texting/chatting and daily YouTube updates for 30-60 mins.
Been getting roughly 8 hours screen-on time before hitting that 15% battery remaining notification.

Yes this was stock at the time
I'm not familiar with the real-world performance of the G2 battery. But I must say that, by far, the Note3 has the best battery performance out of any smart phone I've ever owned. (Which isn't saying much cuz I can say that about every smart phone I owned compared to the previous phone) I just use it as much as I want. I don't even worry about it anymore.
I've even gotten crazy and started underclocking to 960mhz with conservative governor. Keep your screen around 40-50% and (so long as you aren't in a very low signal on all protocols area) it barely drains and I barely notice even the slightest hit to performance. (...and I am picky as hell about stuff like that. 30fps drives me crazy, I can detect latency in the 10-20ms range...it's a curse really). I just get a clump of lag every now and then. For 2 days off charge? I'll take it.
I don't keep track of screen on time...yet. I guess I should do that one of these days. But I take my phone off the charger at 6:30am and usually plug it in again around 12:30am or so...I'm usually around 35%, give or take 10% depending on if it was a heavy or light use day.
Sorry I can't answer your direct comparison question. I can't imagine a phone having better battery life stock (even if I didn't underclock)...but from what I've read in this thread the G2 is the one to beat. It seems as though they are at least comparable within a reasonable margin of error.
I've not had the G2 but from what I've been reading if they are fairly comparable with the GS with a 5.2" display and 3500mah battery and the Note 3 has a 5.7" display with a 3200mah battery I would have to look at the OS optimizations as being better maybe with the Note 3. Plus you do get the Spen and 3GB of RAM instead of 2GB of Ram with the G2
Note 3 Battery life is amazing and even better if you get the Zerolemon extended battery (completely overkill btw)
