[Q] Wakes up automatically when connected to a charging cable - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
My phone wakes up automatically when connected to a charging cable or USB. It's possible to disable? It always forcing me to push the power button every time I connect it to turn off the screen because I do have the screen timeout set for 10 minutes.
Thanks!

It's a safety feature. .if say in future you have a faulty power button. . .and your battery is completely dead. ..it will help in booting up. ..

[Q] [SOLVED!] Epic 4g Won't Power on. Will Charge though.

<Quote>My epic 4g won't power on. If I plug in a usb cable/ac adapter it will charge the device. The screen comes on and shows the green battery and the amber LED turns on and then turns blue when it reaches 100% charge.
But the power button does nothing. It won't power it on. Is there anything else I can do to force it to turn on?</Quote>
So I got it to boot up. You can do this by holding the power button down while continuously unplugging and replugging in a power adapter (or usb cable). You may spend 2 or 3 minutes unplugging and replugging it in (you need to do this rapidly) but eventually you'll be greeted with the samsung boot screen. If it makes it to the battery display screen you're not unplugging and replugging in quickly enough.
Hopefully o that anyone else who encounters this problem can potentially use their phone in a pinch or recover data off one with a broken power button. My power button is definitely busted and I'll need to get it repaired by sprint unfortunately.
Thanks!

Did you try putting it into download mode? may need to ODIN back to stock.
Ok im new to this forum, as i just ditched my evo shift and picked up and epic, but you might try booting to another menu. Try unplugging it and holding the 1 key on the keyboard then press the power key. If that does nothing then id have to guess ur actual power button is broken. You could also try pulling the battery witih it unplugged for like 5 minutes then put it back in and hold the power button for like 20 seconds and letting it go.
Edit: He beat me to it
It appears the actual power button is broken, neither of those solutions worked. Is there any other way to force it to power up without use of the power button?

Thank you soo much! I have a messed up Epic that has to be sent back to Sprint but I had to get my work information off of it or I'd be in it deep. Your trick worked perfectly!!

[Q] Help: I have a problem and I do not know if it is hardware or software?

Since yesterday after I the device connecting new car charger.. every time it turns off the screen for more than three seconds .. Turn off the device with no sign of shutting down (no vibration of Lemuria shutdown or something like that).
As long as the screen is on the device is fine.
Now every time I connect the device to the computer is turn off.
If the screen is off more than a few seconds the device turn off, if it is connected to a charger you can turn it on only to connect the charger when is working and how he loads it.
According to what is a hardware problem but I'm not absolutely sure.
Please help me take the what the problem is and how to act.
Thank you!

GNexus wont turn on & I cant reboot :(

3 days ago on my b-day I charge my phone only to power it on and have it immediately shut off on me. I plug it into charger and it was still fully charged so i turn on agian and it does the same thing it will just immediately turn off on me. Now its gotten to the point where when i try to power it on the word google pops up and it brightens after abotu 3 seconds then phone turns off and continue to charge. The phone battery indicates it is fully charged however it wont turn on. May i remind you my volume down button does not work so i can not Volume keys and Power button reboot. Plz help
I wonder if the hardware has broken somehow? If just the power button broke, this post says to remove the battery, plug phone into computer, then insert battery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...rnative-to-t1731128/post65166854#post65166854
If only the software has broken somehow, maybe you can flash a new ROM from the beginning using one of the nexus toolkit apps which automate everything for you.

Modify boot procedure.

I have a Samsung galaxy s2 with broken power button.
I installed app which turns on the screen with volume buttons. And other icon to list of quick buttons on the bottom of home screen to turn off the screen. I have and notification in notification bar. ... just tap and screen is off.
Now. There is boot procedure without the need of power button.
You put micro usb cable. Wait. You get it out of phone. Immediately get battery out and return it inside back. Done. Phone power on.
I have android 4.1.2
I want to modify this boot procedure. This result is liked: when phone is powered off. .... I just connect usb cable and phone power on and after a minute I to can use it.
I want to bypass the moment when you get the battery out of the phone.
Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

HTC 10 Unresponsive & Can't Restart But Alive

I hope I'm posting this in the right place but I'm desperate for help.
My phone, HTC 10, froze and then the screen turned off while I was taking a picture.
The charge should have been around 80%.
Symptoms:
The screen is unresponsive.
Couldn't get the home button/finger print sensor to turn the screen on.
Couldn't get the power button to turn the screen on.
A call to my phone could not reach my number as well.
When plugged in to a wall charger or laptop no indicator light turns on.
When connected to a laptop, the laptop makes that connection noise and a long name with QualComm in it shows up.
Tried Power Button + Volume Up for 10 seconds but didn't get any result.
Side note:
The power button was a little faulty before as well.
You have to squeeze it a certain way to make it work.
I need to somehow restart my phone. Any ideas?

Try to clean all buttons really well, if it keeps failing to boot and the phone is still recognized as Qualcomm it's probably bricked.
Simple explanation of the word bricked :
When the phone doesn't boot, when you can't access the bootloader, download mode or recovery it's bricked!

Strange turn of events: I plugged the phone to my laptop because I read somewhere that it drains the battery. Just for the kicks, after a few hours, I unplugged and re-plugged my phone. Suddenly, there was light. The battery light came back. I immediately switched to the wall charger and once I did that the battery icon appeared showing 1%. Now, it's peacefully charging away. Will see if it actually turns on later on once it's charged about half an hour.
