You could port those zips to work on your S3. All you would have to do is open the updater-script and change the mount points
But as far as preexisting ones here....I havent seen any so far

Or just freeze them with Titanium backup. Problem solved.

Have you tried to reboot your phone? Are you rooted? What rom are you using?

Yes to the first two. And I'm running TDJ's darkside rom from 5.12.12 based on the T-Mobile leak. It worked yesterday, I don't know why it wouldn't now

Okay.. I had this same problem and I can understand your.frustration.. the way I got around was fresh.installation of the rom am using and tried installation again...ics is just a different piece of system compared to gingerbread.. so you have to he very careful when installing apps
. Restoring back etc..so try fresh.installation.

Thanks. I probably will just wait for a rom/update worth flashing for now.

Rom devs must incorporate aroma into the rom zips for you to use it. It's not something that you can use to install any zip.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
Usually devs will put on the title of their thread that the ROM uses Aroma. I know there are a couple ROMs in the Dev thread that use it. I personally hate using it and I think just bloats a ROM zip.. but hey that's my opinion.
Thanks guys for your feedback I as appreciate it a bunch.:thumbup:

I don't like it either because a lot of people don't use it properly and when you flash it, stuff gets screwed up. An example is the Wicked rom. It installs about 3 extra audio managing apps no matter which one you select.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
Hey so tell us what recovery you like and don't like and why?
I was using twrp but stopped because it screwed up my phone and was having problems flashing some Roms. I just don't think it does a clean wipe just works to fast..... So far clockwork cleans ,wipes more securely and have no problems flashing Roms...
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
I see this thread getting out of hand and going south quickly. I'm gonna request a mod step in and make a bold suggestion to people on how to keep it clean and not go south. Also make a poll for the thread, makes it look better and more official..
I prefer TWRP, I've been on it since I got the S III (May of '12). I test roms for 3 devs on this phone, and never had an issue. I used to use CWM on previous phones and never had issues there either. I just prefer TWRPs UI.

The Rom that gave me problems with twrp was darthstalker but was able to flash with clockwork... Maybe it was something I did wrong.... Don't know.

I've used both and like both, settled on twrp mainly because I find it a little easier to use. CWM looks nicer IMO. I dont' think you can go wrong with either.
I prefer TWRP but with the 4.2+ ROMs I flashed that have the 0 file I have to use CWM.
I'm sure there's something I can do to fix this but I've tried via Google search and have only has luck with CWM. So here I am.

so I have to use cwm.

Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
I use twrp because you can name your back up files. That's probably the only reason I use it. It's UI is more friendly because of the buttons and I'm pretty sure you can theme it now, but I haven't tried that feature yet

Yes, that had happened to me multiple times as well, restoring of backups failing. For that reason I stick to CWM for now. Otherwise IMO TWRP is superior.

I do not backup and restore very often, but twice I have made a backup and restored because I was testing a ROM...but both backups failed and left me to clean flash my ROM again.

Hey Guys I wanted the S4 S-Voice App since I previously installed the version that Samsung eventually blocked, giving you a "no network connection" error. This S4 S-Voice .apk is straight from the system drawer of my friends GS4 and works flawlessly on my Note 2. I just installed over my old S-Voice but you may need to push it to your system and change permissions if that doesn't work. Enjoy!! http://db.tt/lroXNmf2
Is there a link for this.

You got it
What do you push it and change permissions
Sent from my SPH-L900 using JellyBombed Tapatalk 2
Push it basically means to copy it to your system/app partition. You have to be rooted to do that. Sometimes preinstalled apps are already in your system so in order to replace the apps you have to replace the files in the same place and then give the the proper permission to run as a system app.

if pushed into system/data/app, the stock S-voice apk has to be removed first?

The directory is system/app not system/data/app and you don't always have to push it there. You should first look in system app to see if its there if it is delete it if your ROM is odexed delete that and the odex file beneath it and then reboot. Then use a file explorer to install it straight up, S-Voice doesn't have to be system it can be user only. If you continue to get a parsing error download it again. Let me know how it works out

Its not a big deal but its a little annoying haveing to move everything I want to flash over to my sd card.

Its to do with andorid 4.2's implementation of multiple users. There is a zip somewhere called "Flash before downgrade" or something like that that will move it back for you
