Does anyone know how to get the apps in the multiwindow bar (flashbar) to retain their positions ? or are they even meant to retain their positions ?
I put mine in the order I want them, but when I reboot they are all jumbled up again.
Regards, Dave.
Edit : Found the cause of the problem in another thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...r#post36706764

So i looked into why apps positioning changes on a reload.
And i found the problem, Samsung has a function to restore apps on reboot (It is unchanged in my mod, so every multiwindow mod is affected by this)
It's simply wrong... It can never restore apps in the same order the way it written at the moment.
It also waste resources doing things multiple times for no reason causing extra load times and allocates extra memory for nothing, Can't believe that they made such sloppy code.
Anyway..... Ill have to rewrite the whole function to solve the issue.
I will try to rewrite it, but i am not sure that i will succeed.

Can I ask that users have access to 'delete their own thread' menu. I think this is a good idea because as I can see the threads get messed up really bad. I have created threads that no longer have any information in it that I think is appropriate and I require them to be deleted but it would be good if users could delete their own threads only.
I can relate to your case, since I too have had these thoughts. But using the "report" button to report your thread and let a mod decide would a better idea IMHO. There could be still info in there that could be useful to other users, and deleting it would lose that info.
UNLESS the data is completely absolete, I'd just lock the thread.
more people should think about changing the title name of the thread, to having [SOLVED] in the title so it can be locked, because it can still be found in the search and gone through you just cant add more to it.
This have discussed many times before and the answer remains same: No
So I got my galaxy S II yesterday and while I was setting it up I noticed the Google backup and restore options are missing from Settings - Privacy. I rely on this functionality to get my progress restored in certain apps namely Robotek. Not all apps use Google's backup service, but for the ones that do it works really well. Doe's anyone have insight into these missing settings? I would like to not lose my progress if possible.
Thanks!
I don't see Backup and Restore under the Privacy settings either. Does anyone know if this something that Samsung or Sprint left out of the stock ROMs?

Like the topic says, how is it done? Is there a way to set it by default in my control panel?
I would like this forum to mirror the functionality I get in other forums, where any post you make will show up in your "subscribed" threads list. As is stands now, I have made a few posts (which had replies) and they never appear in that list. How as I supposed to follow threads that way?
Moved to About XDA section.
Click here, and change the Default Thread Subscription Mode to something other than "Do Not Subscribe".
Thank you so much for that. God, I don't know why I didn't try that a LONG time ago, that will make using this site SOO MUCH easier. No longer do I need to do searches all the time just to see what I posted (because I forget easy)... This may even make me a more productive member of (xda) society
I say, this option should be default behavior, but again maybe it is and not knowing I changed it for some reason.... alas.
I've searched and read quite a bit on this subject but I just can seem to find a definitive answer and I'm hoping one of you can help.
I read a brief article about phone security, in it the author was quite firm in saying that all SD cards should be encrypted. He said that this would stop any malicious apps from being able to read data elsewhere on the card (maybe it should be done to the phone too?)
Can any of you guys confirm this? Or maybe suggest another way for me to protect myself against nasty apps? I used to use avast, should I install it again?
Thanks in advance folks

Once these guys release how their exploit works....
is there any way someone might be able to come up with a way to remove the "SYSTEM" tag from some non-essential apps (ChatOn, most of the Samsung bloat, etc).
I have disabled most of the apps - but there are some that wont disable. I would like to be able to disable the remaining ones. . . .
I believe this should be in the Q&A section buddy

That supposed bluebox scam is just a hoax. There have been ways to get around the signature checking since Android development started, and it has nothing to do with Android itself.
That said, their "discovery" has nothing to do with the context you're bringing it up in.
The Thanks button is just to avoid "THANKS" posts in threads. Don't defeat the purpose of why it was introduced.
