News about Exynos exploit patch? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

Well it seems that T-Mobile has pushed a fix for the Exynos exploit patch - anyone heard anything about when AT&T is expected to push this update?

I have not heard a word.

Sad, I would think that this would be a priority!
As a former TMO user, it just seems that the subscribers there are a more vocal and conscientious bunch - pushing TMO all the time!
Were you in the Vibrant forums a long time ago?

multi screen....

I dont see any other posts for this so here goes...
Is there any eta of when the multi view update will be available for our phone?
And this kind of leads me to my second question... I got the phone with the $250 down and you pay an extra $20 a month but the plan itself is 20 dollars cheaper (just jumped ship from att for unlimited data). Should I have just bought the international/unlocked one, seeing as how it would have worked with the 42 hspa+ anyway... updates will be much faster for that phone and more from.selection too... just thinking.. would have multi window now if I get that one instead...
Lol you certainly need to look at the single screen properly before you ask about multiview. ..lol.But seriously theirs at least three separate posts about it saying that we need to wait for the update for this and a few more features to be enabled.

I'm just going to speculate that once all the other US carriers release their GN2, then we'll perhaps start hearing some announcement maybe.

The Verizon Gnote 2 is rumored to have multiwindow enable out of box. If that's true then an update SHOULD happen slightly before or after. If not then people should raise hell as it is obviously ready with Europe, Asia, and Verizon having it enable.

Multiscreen update COMING SOON

According to gotta be mobile an update for the American version of the note 2 IS going to be ready soon and shortly after that pushed out to Carriers for OTA release
multiscreen IS part of this update, so it appears we should have it in several weeks!
heres the article itself check it out
http://www.gottabemobile.com/2012/1...n-update-could-deliver-killer-note-2-feature/
Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk 2
The article is about the original Note. The only place I see the Note 2 mentioned is in the title.
A few weeks so it coincides with the Verizon release, roughly, huh? This is excellent news!
Oh wait..this update is for the original Note. Still, makes me hopeful. Maybe if they push it out for the s3 and OG Note around that time..we will get it too.

I don't see why they had to omit the feature in the first place. Like theres a processor difference or something. Glad to see it coming, but it should have been there in the first place.
Hop some one can in port a international version soon or. Or can cm10
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
It's not so much it was omitted on purpose, but that Samsung has to work with the carriers so they can add their bloatware. This most likely caused Samsung to send an earlier version of the Touchwiz'd Android so that the carriers have enough time to put in their software and tweaks and still release the phones in a timely fashion. The US variants were already released a month after the international version. We probably wouldn't have the US Note II for T-Mobile today had Samsung taken more time to get multi-window working before submitting the software to the carriers to do their thing.

That's the most logical explanation I've read thanks, so are you confident that when it is enabled for AT&T I'm hearing soon that T-Mobile will not be left behind?
I also heard that Wi-Fi will be improved along with adding the spit-screen multi-tasking multi-view, does that suggest the Wi-Fi is currently unreliable?
Also what ever happened to Samsung Galaxy Note II Screen Recorder function?
I'd like to stop having to seriously consider the international models..Thnx

Why would you think that when every other major carrier is likely getting it this month like the international Note2 has on 4.1 (before a 4.2 update that could take months for any US Note2)?
Could we get T-Mobile to comment on being competitive on this considering Sprint is releasing it already & AT&T & Verizon are expected to have it by Nov 27th?

No they don't. This just means that Samsung is releasing it to the S3, which they already did to the Note 2. The carriers still have to approve it and release it to the devices, so it's going to be a while until the AT&T S3 gets it.

They also had to wait 3 weeks longer to touch their phones. It's a trade-off, for sure. For all we know, that's why Verizon delayed releasing their phone, so they could update the firmware with multiview (and add their bloatware to it!).

Yeah its not all that great, though I have only been playing around with it for a day
I think you'll only really hear people who are anal about rooting their phones, who tend to always complain about stock UI. I've owned HTC phones with stock Sense and Samsung phones with stock TouchWiz, and I've yet to find anything so terrible about either, that I feel I simply must root my phone to replace it. What exactly is so bad about stock UI?? Maybe someone can point some things out to shed a light on what I may be missing due to my ignorance.

If you click back through to the source of the story, they only list the international models, not the carrier specific models. There is no way to know if Sprint will actually make a release of anything. Based on the device being released just last fall, I'd expect more updates, but I'm never assuming anything until a release has a Sprint model number or RDFs start leaking out.

If Samsung can still be working on the outdated Sprint S2 perfecting Jellybean I don't see why they won't work on Keylime for the Note 2 or S3. Probably the last major updates these two devices get but I can see it coming. After all it seems like trying to stay up with updates is what Samsung has been aiming for the past few years. Doing so good at it I just finished reading a forbes article were even they give props to Samsung for keeping up with updates better than others. On another note I'm tempted to get an S4 after reading about the gaming capabilities. Opinions?

Yes I totally agree with you. Team sextape is amazing and has blessed us with multiple builds on our e4gts But, multiple s2s around the world in many different regions have already had this update pushed out by way of OTA and WE HAVE NOT. Hence why we are last. And will always be LAST. Even Canada has pushed it out and Sprint has not. We only make up so many users on Xda. Most users do not even know what sextape is lol.
