I don't use my kindle for anything but reading now and then, so I'd like to flash back to the stock ROM just in case I have to return it or sell it or anything like that.
Can someone tell me what I need to do? I'm on alien 7.0

Or install madoco rom

Make sure you have/ use a factory reset cable or you could wind up with more problems than you started with

Unless you really require back to full stock just use modaco

Well, finally decided to make a thread after hours of searching.
I've got a rooted kindle fire, and it's been working fine for the past month. Out of the blue last night, I turn it on, it won't boot past the animated white and orange kindle fire logo. I still get the usual blue logo beforehand, the device is recognized by my pc, i can boot into fastmode, get into TWRP or CWM, I'm just not sure what to do from here.
Most other people with this problem seem to be stuck in fastboot, while i'm not.
Any help would be appreciated.
It sounds like your kindle's current stock rom got messed up
Here's what you should do:
Boot into twrp
Transfer a different rom to your kindle
Wipe what's needed
Flash the new rom
Reboot

Thanks a bunch for helping identify the problem Any specific rom you'd recommend? CM7 or ICS?
Also, would you be able to link me to a tutorial on what needs to be wiped, as well as how to flash said rom?
If you like stock you can get modaco
Gede rom looks very customizable
I'm on modaco now
Wiping nd flashing depends on the rom
Do you have TWRP or clockwork
I know more of TWRP

Preferably the firmware will be fine but if not Soupkit is all purpose http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1850038 unless you like the hard way http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1949372
I have read the Kindle Fire Beginners Guide and the supplement on reverting to Stock and I read a thread about dual booting between ROM's. So as of now, it appears that you can not dual boot between cm9 and KF stock, while leaving TWRP installed. My question is, can the stock kf os be converted to a ROM that could be used in a dual boot?
MoDoCo can be used as an alternate ROM. It is basicly stock. Unused that and Jellybean 4.1.1 as my primary for quite a while

Ideally, I am looking for a way to switch between the original Amazon system that can be registered and an android system like CM9, using a boot menu. By the way, I really like your signature.
So, all the drama with my KFHD is getting old. Is there a way to get just stock ICS or Jellybean?
If you do it yourself, but then you would have to tweak everything to get it to work properly, its easier to install CM 10
Last I read CM 10 still wasn't ready for KFHD

Make sure you flash the right ROM. Are you sure you have a KFHD, if so, you would be best posting in that forum and not the Kindle Fire 2 forum.
Read, read again, and then read again. Too many people brick their devices by flashing ROMs or using tools not designed for their devices.

My n7 2013 needs to be sent in for repair. I got the RMA from asus. The device will not under any circumstance charge while turned on (only while powered off) and it will not get recognized on any computer when plugged in to the USB. As a result I cannot use any of the toolkits that are out there to unroot / get back to stock.
I can download a stock image without root and flash it in TWRP (from my tablet). I can then lock the bootloader from the tablet (correct? by going into recovery?).
I am not sure how I "uninstall" TWRP and get back to stock recovery without USB access.
Is there a way to do this? To get TWRP installed I followed a step by step guide and flashed it using USB with it hooked up to my PC.
If anyone could help me out or send me a link with a guide of how to get stock without plugging the tablet into my computer that would be greatly helpful. I am kinda screwed if I cant do this, as I am sending this tablet back to ASUS.
Don't hold me to this but can you flash a factory ROM from mobile Odin? I had the same problem with my Galaxy note, though I am not sure if it works with the N7.

Nah mobile odin (at least according to the description on the play store) only works on Samsung devices.

That's right. I think you are screwed. Unless maybe there's a way to do it through a open recovery script?
