I switched from Galaxy S2 some 3 months ago and really loving this device. The only thing I am missing about S2 is the colour saturation that display provided. OK some poeple hate that level of saturation but I simply loved it. Is there any way we can increase the saturation or make the colours pop a bit??
Lowering the gamma will make a pretty significant difference
Are you rooted or running a custom kernel? This is going to be the best way to customize the colors that you are looking for. Get the trickster app and a kernel like Franco or faux.

Hey all -
When I upgraded to the dinc2 I came from the original dinc (actually gave it to a buddy of mine).
Anyway - we were comparing phones and the Torch / flashlight on the dinc is SO MUCH BRIGHTER than the dinc2. The DINC on "low" is the same brightness as the dinc2 on "high," and the DINC on "high" is not even comparable - it's so much brighter. The dinc2 low vs high almost seems the same.
Anyone else notice this? Does the original Dinc just have a much brighter flash / leds than the Dinc2? Or is the torch app on the Dinc2 not working correctly?
Honestly never cared to notice. Its bright enough for me. Urs could be dirty or the led's could be dying..

Unless it's a defect on your specific phone, I have found that other apps make the light brighter.
Try using tesla led and see if that works better. My light is super bright and i've had no issues.
I have always like the Brightest Flashlight App. Works great and I've never had issues with it. Hella bright IMO!
I know most of us hopefully none of us have this issue. I run into a lot of customers who say there camera sucks or flash sucks and it is due to them not removing the clear film that protects the camera and led during shipping.

Thank you!
I have scoured the web, and I cant seem to find anyone else with this issue. I too am an ex-DInc user and upgraded to to Inc2, both were flashed with cm7. The inc2's torch app is exponentially dimmer than the DInc1's, its really bugging me and I'm considering trying to find out how to modify a flashlight app to tweak it or something. I posted a thread on the CM forums as well, so if I do get an update I'll try to follow up on this post too.
My wife has a dinc and I also agree that her leds are brighter but I think the high setting on cm7 or cm9 are bright enough for me

Finally someone who agrees! I think most don't have the 2 phones side-by-side so its hard to make a comparison. I'm guessing that the LEDs in the dinc2 just aren't as powerful as the dinc1.
Initially, I planned to flash franco kernel to get rid of the purple on my screen. I flash AOKP first, and the purple is completely gone. Should I still flash franco and could it bring the purple back?
The purple as you define it, can either be a hardware fault as it is for some, or it's just a matter of what color multiplier settings/gamma settings you have.
With any kernel that supports editing it, I say go ahead and flash. Francisco's franco.Kernel, Morfic's Trinity kernel and Ezekeel's GLaDOS kernel all have their own app for very easy kernel-related tweaking! Though they cost a few dollars each, I say they're worth it.
Flash Trinity. Colors will even be more amazing, especially your whites.

It's not like this is trinity specific. You can achieve the same colors with all kernels.
Trinity kernel and their whites
May the Trinity kernel adds bleach to their whites?

I know. But Trinity comes stock with those colors. On other kernels you'd have to mess with the gamma colors.

Hello guys n devs,
I have a Galaxy S phone and thinking of moving to Galaxy Nexus. Would you like to comment and give your opinion on this please?
With respect to Battery life, overall performance, any specific issue you would like to mention about.
Thanks.
Performance on this phone is beastly, especially with jelly bean update. Battery life is under Android average. Some issue that some people are having is signal loss and such, but had none of those problems.

Well thanks a lot.
Would you like to mention about the screen? Have seen many mentioning about the patches on screen while display. Ideally with such a good resolution and AMOLED I found it weird.
Have you tried MIUI-JB. How about battery use with data / Wifi on?
Do you have any other equivalent recommendations as well? :good:

Yes, screen is one of the BIG issue with galaxy nexus. Whites are very washed out, but the worst part is, in low brightness level, everything looks so grainy and such. Of course, you can just flash custom kernel that supports screen adjustment and that does help a bit, but still is disappointing in my opinion. You still can get used to it.
Edit: also, I haven't tried it miui and probably won't, since I don't like it. Battery on Wi-Fi is exception in my opinion, but once you use mobile data, it drains the battery. For Rom recommendation, I can't say which is the best Rom, since everyone prefers different roms. What I recommend you to do is try all of them that you are interested in. I personally used many different roms and stayed with AOKP jelly bean, because I love all the features that it brings

Hi man i was in the same situation as you i had a galaxy S and now i moved to nexus. Let me share some ideas.
First it's a great phone. After you play with android stock interface never ever you will turn back to touchwiz bull****t. Even for an S3.
You said you have Miui. I remember also i used that on S best rom in matter of performance. Here on Nexus you will have a lot of pure Android interface roms with a good performance. I'm sure the design it's enough good to not come back to Miui. I tried it on Nexus but don't like it (to big screen for iphonish intreface).
As for other aspects screen: one of the best on the market Hd display, performance now with jelly bean it's ok. It has the same gpu as S so if you are not a gamer it's enough you can play almost all the games. Battery instead will last shorter than on a S you know dual core hd screen but it's decently. Also custom roms are more 'professional' here since it's a dev phone.
So you will have what and where to choose.

I have bought 2 Gnex for the family and during my setup and hacking i noticed the colors are different. On one phone the colors are cold and look much nicer and the other the phone is a dull grey/yellowish when in the settings and don't really look good.
Both are stock with just root yakju 4.2, I tried to flash different kernels to see if i can get that cold color look on the other GNex but could not. It seems like hardware since TWRP shows the difference in colors.
Is there any way to fix the colors?
Kernel's that support color control.
like i said i tried that and it didn't make a difference.
Hello everyone, congrats on your new phone!
I was wondering if there was any current development for gamma control on our displays? Coming from the a n5 with a horribly calibrated screen, franco's amazing kernel was the answer to my prayers. I know we have RGB multipliers, but gamma control would be even better! Does anyone know of plans or know of any news regarding this? Thanks ☺.
