As long as your using a Kernel that has BLN support, BLN notification will work. Just read the OP of the kernel and it will be in the description and sometimes in the title.

Well yup my kernel's suppose to b able to run it thats why im puzzled there :/
After you download the app, you have to open it up and check the "Activate BLN" box. There is also an "Update notifications settings" section that you should go into. Do all that and reboot your phone. It should work.
Hey thanks for the reply !!! just tryed it, but unfortunatelly still not working
edit : for the missed called that it is

what rom are u using? cause i have this same issue. i cant get it to work with the text messages which is what i want it to work for.
im using this rom: 2.3.6 Debloated with Hercules kernel 0.0.7r2

edit: i can get it working for missed calls and emails, just not working with text messages. if i remember right the rom has to have the BLN support patched into services.jar or something like that.
BLN doesnt work on stock roms even if they are rooted the tweaks for BLN aren't edited into them so you need to use a different rom if you want to use BLN i use juggernaut 4.1 and bullet kernal and have no issues with BLN

ROMs that support BLN notifications (don't know exactly which ones do support it but most do) when activating it in the app usually it works but other than that, i heard that BLN doesnt work well with the stock messaging app. You could try a 3rd Party messaging app from the market and see if it works for you
no problem i am just using the free BLN so no blinking for me but iv'e been very happy with the performance of juggernaut battery life and all so i'm glad ya like it as well
OK, so I went ahead and emailed the developer of the app. And this is what he replied.

Can anyone confirm if bln shortens the life of the led lights

I wanted to add this post to this specific T989 thread but it wont let me so forgive me in advance.

I have the telus SGH-T989D phone essentially the tmobile T989 running rooted with the darkside Beta 3 ICS ROM that runs fairly stable aside for an occasional freeze.
The only thing I miss from my Galaxy S is the BLN control I had of LED notifications with backlight keys lighting up but that only came by way of the semaphore kernel.
Obviously there is no semaphore kernel here and the darkside ROM is not using this kernel. I cant seem to find a compatible one except for Synergy but not sure if it will really mess things up.
Any suggestions as for another kernel? Otherwise what about an alternative to BLN control? Ive seen programs like lightflow and NO LED but they dont seem to be working.
Thanks in advance.

To expand on this, once we have source bln will most likely show up in kernels, til then use GB roms/kernels or wait.
Oh I see now I understand. Thanks for explaining.
Is there any half alternative? How come these Lightflow LED and NoLED programs work on nexus but dont work on the t989?

Yeah, I don't like noled. It's sort of wonky. Maybe better than nothing, maybe not. Lol

Will the source be released soon after the 6/11/12 ICS official build is released?
Back when i was using the G2X devs figured out a way to use the backlight on the capacitive buttons as a make shift notification LED in the Cyanogen 7 ROMs. Does any one know if the way the GS2 is made makes this a possibility? Because even though NOLED works just fine, I find I prefer a pulsing or blinking light as a notification.

Correct me if I mis-read the description of BLN, but it has to be baked into the kernel and is not ICS compatible. So for any future ROMs or anyone running CM9 or ICS based roms that will not work.

Hello everybody i bought this fantastic device 3 days ago and it performs very well...
i've already tried many custom Roms, but the one i like is the stock jelly bean rom, but it has some problems...
the Audio is too low, i tried Volume+ on Market but is not compatible with JB, so do you have any suggestions? any zip file to flash?
the other things i don't like is the auto brightness sensor... it keep the light too low. is there some mod to fix this?
i would like also to Flash franco.kernel with 384oc GPU, do you suggest me? is it possible to fix the other two problems only flashing francokernel?
PS: do you know some trick to manage the status led?
..for the status led, I'm using LightFlow, even bought it for 1.7euro (free version doesn't have FB and some others) ... not like i did much research , Lite version did what i wanted it to do, so i bought full. .. is not that much when you pay ~400 for a phone..
ok for lightflow, is fantastic!
but someone know how can I improve the autoBrightness and the volume?? is very important for me!
are there any roms that is capable of doing these two thins?
For auto brightness try lux auto brightness from play store, the best application to control the brightness in automatic mode.
For sound you need a custom kernel,go to development section.

Hello Cristian, I've got my GNex about 4 days and I found the same flaws you described, so I downloaded the Nexus toolkit to unlock the bootloader, root it, and install recovery, once I did that I installed the franco kernel, the kernel updater gives you the option to modify the colors and the brightness, I hate the yellowish white that the screen has by default so I would strongly recommend you to use the settings recommended by franco to tune up the screen and to use a static brightness, my screen looks amazing now. In regards to the audio, the app has an option to improve it however it only applies for the headphones, not for the speaker (at least I couldn't notice any difference). For the LEDs use lightflow pro. Cheers!

I have the exact same problem as you with the yellow whites. What did you change with the colors?
Did you add more blue and remove more red and green?

That's exactly what I did, gamma offset -4 0 5, color multipliers 178 172 205 brightness set almost to maximum, adaptive brightness disabled.

I am on stock rooted 6.0.1 and want to know if there is a recommended app to change the led color for app specific notifications. If root matters or not please let me know which app you best recommend. Thanks in advance !
I'm using Light Manager Pro unrooted and it works well.
