note 10.1 replacement battery - Galaxy Note 10.1 Accessories

looks like the replacement of the battery on the Note 10.1 will be easy.
http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Samsung+Galaxy+Note+10.1+Teardown/10144/2
Any idea where we can find the replacement battery?
Could be useful a couple years depending on how you use it.

A quick Google search brought this up. Pretty reasonable prices. I sure appreciate the ability to physically open up a piece of hardware. I'm much more comfortable tinkering with hardware than software.

thanks, informative

Capacitive pen for taking notes.

Hey, I'm looking to take some notes on my tab and was looking for some suggestions. I've found a couple cool programs but need a pen.
My noted are almost all math related so equations and such.
Any advice would be very helpful.
Sent from Samsung Galaxy S2 on TELUS.
When it comes to capacitive stylus, I believe price is a good signal of quality. I have tried both high end (e.g., boxwave) and low end (generic, bundled with other accessories), and the difference is very noticeable. Good luck taking math notes.... I am an economist and my note-taking involves math too. You are going to have a hard time getting good results. I tried doing this, but had to go back to my clunky convertible tablet to get the results I needed. Unless you get a slate with a digitizer (like the Flyer or the Thinkpad), you are pretty much out of luck.
Your not out of luck... just need this!!
As u guys know capacitive stylus have a very wide point so that it can be recognized by the device, therefore affecting precision. Thankfully some people already came up with a solution. U have to options.
1) DIY fine ponit stylus with materials u can find in ur house... for FREE:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHhB2BF5yQM
I found a blog where someone made a more precise intructions .... but I don't
remember the site!
2) Someone took the idea to kickstarter and now they are commercializing there
version of a fine point stylus.... only that it cost around 20-30 bucks:

I just pre ordered one of these bad boys!!!
Hmm, looks intriguing. I'm not holding my breath until this type of technology is proven and reviewed thoroughly. Thanks for sharing.
Edit; Here's the blog with the detailed instructions:

Will take a look. Still in the market for a tablet. I like tthe 10.1 but would be better if I could take notes.
I find the flyer too small for me and the one that att has is like $800 so I'd rather use paper than that lol.

i just ordered one, i guess for $8 it is worth trying
The more I look at htc's pen the more I like it, I might have to just suck it up and get a 7inch tablet.

Doesn't the Lenovo Thinkpad tablet also come with a digitizer and pen?
I'll try the DIY out and let you know how it goes, looks easy enough and I have everything needed. I paid one looks great as well, but I'll wait fir the reviews to roll in. Thank you for showing this to us.
How about this one?

I'm considering it, but I don't like to waste money and really want a decent accuracy.

The Dagi came first than the one i showed u guys... but I've read some reviews and they say that it's hard to get used to because w this one u have to write w a certain angle for it to work at its best.
That sucks.
I made my own last night. I'm not good at that kinda stuff so although it worked, it was a little off.
I need one so that I can take small notes on an image of a form, but it just didn't like writing small. I'm wondering if that's the case for most of them.

You can probably do that using Sketchbook Pro. Just import the image, zoom in on where you need to write, merge the layers when done and save.
I too am looking for something to take notes on. I bought a Flyer and it was pretty inaccurate. This is one of those things where if it isn't done right it will be horrible experience. My best suggestion would be to wait for the Samsung Series 7 Slate. I know its pretty expensive but look at like this it can replace your laptop.
The 12.1 Asus eePad slate (Windows-based) gets good reviews on the note-taking area.
first of all: out there are a varaity of stylus for your tabs and phones. the regular capacitive pens you'll find for a buck or two on ebay are the same as the ones cellphone companies sell for like $20, does are just like using your finger and are only good for people with big/fat fingers since they cant type on keyboard well and other stuff like that without hitting the wrong key. but some genius chinese guy invented this wish you can make at home by yourself without any money:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHhB2BF5yQM&NR=1&feature=endscreen
but also two companies took this idea and patented it, and here are the results
Dagi:
P501 and P502 (old method with just stylus)
P601 (old method with ink pen in one end and stylus in the other)
P504, P505, P506 and P507 (new idea, very acurate, just like a pen or pencil)
(the P504 comes in 9 different colors)
P602 (new idea, very acurate, just like a pen or pencil- and also an ink pen in the other end)
Adonit:
Jot and Jot Pro (The best out there)
I have a Dagi P504 and an Adonit Jot Pro. I use the on my Tab on Sketchbook Pro and other Drawing and Note-Taking apps. They both are very good but the dagi does not have a cap so the point can bend in a backpack or something and the adonit jot pro is very sleek in desing and has a cap. Its up to each ones likes. I paid $18 for the P504 and $30 for the Jot Pro. I bought them on ebay. You can find all of the styles on ebay.
You can find all of the styles on ebay. You will find The Dagi from $15-$30 depending on styles and the Adonit from $25-$45
The idea from the guy on the vid works great too
NOTE: I have the Galaxy Tab 10.1 Galaxy 10.1 owners: You must have root on your device and use TouchScreenTune (free app that fixes your touch screen sensitivity). Otherwise the writing will lag. Link below:

Motorola Stylus pen with Precision Tip
On Motorola site, it says that a Stylus pen with precision tip is becoming available soon. By its picture, it seems that it is indeed precise. On the compatibility tab, it says it is compatible with XYBoard only. Is XYBoard touchscreen different from Xoom? In my opinion, if it is compatible with Xoom, it is compatible with the SGT 10.1, isn't it?

[Q] Advice on broken LCD P600

Hi guys,
I'm very new to the forums. I have been using various tablets for the last few years now, but my favourite is the Samsung Galaxy Notes, I have had the 8.0(G5110), the n8013, and now the P600. I love love love the way the S-Pen works.
Anyway, I bought the P600 on ebay, with broken glass. I had bought the n8013 on ebay with broken glass as well, and it was easy to replace. No big deal. I assumed the P600 would be the same, but boy, was I WRONG!! I couldn't find any breakdown or repair videos for the P600 on youtube, for the screen. I thought I was too cool and could figure it out, so I went about taking it apart. I think that some of the seasoned people here will know what happened next right? I broke the LCD screen inside, because the damn thing was fused/glued to the digitizer. FML!!! Anyway, I learned from that mistake. Now, I'm having trouble finding a replacement LCD assembly for it, for a sensible price. Does anyone know where the absolute cheapest replacement LCD for the P600 can be found? Is it ebay?
Another important thing, can the LCD from the n8013 be used in the P600? I tried the charging connector out of the P600 in the N8013, because there is a problem with the charging port of the n8013, and when I put the end of the charging connector from the p600 in the n8013, without ever being plugged into actual electricity, the cable got hot, the actual ribbon charging one, not the outlet charger. I'm assuming it might be a different voltage, different conduction or something. I'm making stuff up to sound smart now. LOL.
Anyway, any advice at all on this, or where I should look, please let me know. I have searched a few times for tips and ideas on how to fix things, and this forum has shown up more than a dozen times during my various searches, so I figured I would finally join and post.
Also, even though I did some stupid things with these tablets, I am a fairly intelligent person. I just learn more from mistakes than I do from never making a mistake...lol
find it on Ebay. The one made from China is about 175$ but I don't trust this. I found this one for you, 207$ seems to be the cheapest.

Hi, thank you for taking the time to look for me. I should have mentioned that I'm in Canada, that seller doesn't ship to Canada. Why didn't you trust the other seller, who was cheaper?

because the screen made in China (clone) and I don't know if it has the same specs as the original screen. You would want to buy a used screen instead.

I don't mind buying used, if it works. I'm hoping to keep it around $175 or so, as that's about as far as I can stretch my budget at the moment. If I can't get one for that, I will have to wait for a little while. I was hoping I didn't have to. Do you know if the lcd from the n8013 would be compatible? Thanks again for your help!

Do you want to see a keyboard case from Anker?

Hey guys, so Anker is a well known accessory maker for many devices. They are mostly known for the batteries and chargers but have recently (in the last year or so) pushing into the keyboard maker area for tablets. They recently got back to me in one of their forums that they might look into making a keyboard case for the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014! From my personal experience, they are really good at listening to their customers and are quick to innovate.
So I'm proposing a poll here to you guys to see if you would be interested! They have made this type of keyboard case for the iPads: http://www.ianker.com/product/98APIPAD5-BFA , which I think would be perfect for the Note 10.1. Please also feel free to comment on what kind of keyboard cases you would like to see or think are most useful.
Disclosure: I am not an employee or related to anyone at Anker, but I am in their Power User program for reviewing their products. I was not paid or prompted by Anker to post this. I just really want to see some manufacturer to finally make a nice keyboard case for the Note 10.1!
Thanks for the tip.
Anker makes realy good quality things, i have the 40 watt charger and its awesome. build quality is beyond anything i have seen. We need more quality things.
Agreed. i wish that they or someone else would actually make a nice keyboard case for the note 10.1. but since i only got a few responses from here, i dont think anker will acutally do anything.
Currently, i have tried stand alone keyboards, like the K480, anker slim, etc. also have tried the periduo 880 from perixx, which has a touchpad and i think is a fantastic option for those who don't mind lugging it around. However, I've realized that I really want a keyboard that I can put on my lap and type away with the tablet attached. Iknow this adds a lot of bulk, but i don't mind it. I'm currently using a keyboard case from ebay (one of those alumnium ones that have the case with it).
There are rumors of a galaxy note 10.1 2015 coming out, i'm hoping that they will have better accessories.
I don't think there is any chance that this will happen. The Note 10.1 2014 did not sell well (it was much too expensive) so the numbers never justified it and now, more than 18 months after its release, there isn't a cat in hell's chance anyone is going to start making new accessories now.

Spare parts

With my note 8 still running about fine, no direct successor in sight and the software (pa) still acceptable I was thinking of giving my Note a little check up. After 3 years of daily usage and carrying it around in my bag, there only seem to be two issues with it. 1. The battery lost a bit of its stamina 2. There are several cracks in the back cover (3. Also a few cracks in the silver bezel but I assume that's harder to replace) .
So my question is if anybody has replaced these parts and can guide me to a good shop or a specific brand. Since I need to replace the back cover anyway, I thought maybe there is even an Extended Battery*option
Combo for the note around somewhere (sth like this).
I found a few batteries on the Web but had bad experiences with no name batteries and couldn't find a shop that sells the back cover...

I bought my battery for my Note 8 when I first got it. I purchased the battery from Amazon. Here's the one I bought and I mostly play games on it. It's not bad battery wise overall, I still have the original one. Taking the back cover off isn't hard but this specific battery came with the tools to replace it which helped tremendously since the screws are super small

I would replace the charge port as well. I just did a battery and charge port replacement on mine and if fixed an issue that made the tab unusable.

S-Pen Alternative

I am still using my Galaxy Note 7 and I really don't want to give it up, but, it does appear that Verizon and Samsung are going to do everything in their power to force me to return mine.
I am a power user of the S-Pen. I use it all day every day for work. I currently have hundreds of notes and make more every day. I'm not tied to Samsung apps, Google has sufficient replacement apps for Samsung Notes or S-Note.
Does anyone know of an alternative, a good alternative, to the S-Pen. I use mine to write with and I need a fine point. Pretty much all I've found thus far, as a replacement for the S-Pen, are pens with fat round soft points.
There seem to be plenty of others in this forum who are still using their Note7's like me. I'd rather not downgrade to a slower phone just to keep using my S-Pen. Speed and usability is one of the main reasons I first bought my Note 7.
Hopefully someone has found something I haven't in looking for an S-Pen replacement. I don't want to give up my Note 7 but I want to be prepared in case I do have to.
Thanks.
Get the note 5 they will come out with another Note I love my Note 5
Update
So, I have been doing more checking in to this...
I am still using my Note 7 but I foresee the end coming soon. Besides with the current conduct of Samsung I am thinking that I may just be done with them as a brand entirely.
Anyway, a friend of mine got the LG Stylo 2 as a replacement for his Note7 (he is also an owner of a Note5) and is happy with it thus far. I tested it for about 10 minutes and was pleasantly surprised. It's not a Note7 but it is still better than the Note5. LG's stylus programs aren't as advanced as Samsung's but they are serviceable for those who must have a stylus to write with.
Also, I have purchased an Awinner stylus for all of $18. It works with a phone (any and every phone I have tested it with thus far) via bluetooth BUT does NOT have to be PAIRED with the phone. It is not as responsive as the S-Pen but it is bigger and (for me) easier to hold. I only charged it once so far and have not had to recharge it yet after 4 days. It does have a nice small tip, though not as small as the S-Pen.
Both seem to be viable alternatives.
Personally, I am leaning towards using my Awinner stylus with a little more high powered phone than the Stylus 2 when I give up my Note7.
When will that happen? Well, all I can say is far too soon. I love that phone...
