I'm not sure if I'm doing somthing wrong but I installed srf 1.2 with genocide kernel 2.0 and the battery life is just crap. I inplugged my phone and it was asleep for 5 hrs and it had 12 percent battery drain. When im actually using it, it dies fast. I've undervolted to -75uv on 1ghz have it set to conservative. At 100mhz its at -200, 400 -100. 600 -75, 800 -75. Am I doing something wrong?
You should ask this on the actual srf thread in development.
Two things you can do:
1. Battery Wipe. Search the forums on how to do this.
2. Give it a few days to recalibrate your battery to the new rom. My first 3-4 days on the SRF 1.2 and Genocide 2.0 were pretty pathetic. I got 6-8 hours of lite use. After the first few days of complete battery cycling (full charge to dead battery), I can get a full 16 or so hours of constant use. It's nothing great, but a lot better than stock.
If your phone doesn't sort itself out within a week of use, reflash the rom according to the instructions, doing a complete wipe of everything 3 times. The rom works great, you just have to give it time.
You can get an app called CPU Spy to verify that it is going into Deep Sleep and also Spare Parts and check the Partial Wake Lock to verify no rogue apps are running.
12% drain after 5 hours in deep sleep? Man...that doesn't sound bad to me at all. That's slightly over 2% an hour.
Agree with the guys about calibrating the battery though. Just remember, it will take a while for the battery to 're-learn' how to properly operate, so it will probably suck for the first few days or so.
I've read you should wipe battery stats each time flashing a kernel, but I don't believe I ever have.

That user cannot post in the development forum with having just 1 post. So they are in the proper location for their question.
Oh thanks, I didn't know that. Also is not charging to 100% normal? It maxes out at 98%.

I believe QBKing77 has a video on how to wipe the battery stats and calibrate; very helpful for those who haven't yet done it for themselves. (big shout out and thanks to QBK77 for the vids!)

Yes that is completely normal. It does this so the phone doesn't overcharge the battery, which would only harm it in the long run. (Or so I've read on here.)

This is about what I see as well. I always check screen off battery drain by charging to full before I crash for the night. Of course I calibrate first and give the battery 2 days to get conditioned to the new setup. CPU Spy is a great app to monitor how your phone is using the battery like stated above.

Make sure all your apps have syncing turned off unless you start the app. You will find that a lot of things end up on at first for no reason.

This. Especially facebook which seems to turn sync back on. Also pulse reader was a big one for me before I caught it. Besides that gmail should also be set to manual refresh only. Just use spare parts and look under network usage. These are the big ones. Also there are several apps for battery calibration. One more tip, remove those useless widgets! You don't really need them and they drain drain drain. with this set up I get a day and a few hours out of genocide and srf.
cd's or tapes?
how are yall getting 22 hours of batter life lol
i bearly get 15 on a good day!
If yall could please post the settings you are using.
much appricaited and i will hit thanks to everyone!
the biggest part of battery life is your personal usage and what type of area you live in. If your phone is constant switching between edge/3g/H, your batery will drain fast. I can get over 12 hours battery life at home but when I'm at work I can't make it an 8 hour shift without charging
shortened .... there is a lot more than set up
I get almost 2 days of battery life ( 1day 20 hours). You must be rooted. This are steps you need to take:
1) Recondition your battery, 2) Flash a good kernel (I use Faux's) 3) use a CPU manipulator app like SetCpu, System Tuner, Fauxclock, etc and set it to Conservative and default Voltage settings 4) Be smart about your usage--use wifi as much as possible, and reduce screen brightness. If you stream Netflix over 4G or play Asphalt all day then your battery life will suck.

did you underclock at all?
and what kernel are you using?
If you'll see peoples screenshots, they barely touch the phones at all...
On jugg 4.1, faux 007r2, get about 1% drain/hr when idle with 4g on.

I use his latest kernel 0.0.6u found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1372690
I dont underclock. I use the default settings that come with the app. I dont have time to play with overclocking and underclocking to find the sweet spot. Default works good enough for me.

i use that rom/kernel combo and if I just use my phone as a time piece I drain about that 1-2% an hour..... under light use I drain about 8% an hour.... under heavy use I drain like 13%. That is using my definitions of light and heavy use
As stated above and additional the way you use your phone. What you have installed..what kernel you are using. Stock/hacked kernel(which helps battery life)..believe it or not you can get 16 to 18 hrs on stock kernel. I've tried it. Tip.. Uninstall / Freeze what you don't need. Decrease brightness. Clear ram/cache.. Calibrate your battery. Turn it off let it charge till 100% remove the battery from the phone wait like a minute. Put the battery back turn phone on. Plug charger wait till 100%. You should be good.
Ooh also check if its leaking or bulky which signify bad battery.

Good tip about Black wallpaper. It does help with battery. I take a closeup picture of a black object ( I use my black leather couch) and save it as a wallpaper.
Screen at lowest brightness and barely using it . I have had 38 hours of battery time but in reality if I use it so that the screen is on much then you get about 6-8 hours. Some people say yhey use heavily but they describe playing music which doesnt require the screen being on.
Also if you are in the area where it switches edge to 3g then the constant change will drain your battery. Stay in a strong 3g area no blue tooth no wifi it will bring your battery usage up. I hit 19 hours on full wifi no bluetooth and maybe 30 minutes of talking , 50 sms or so. The main issue is can you go between outlets, if you can then the phone is doing its job. I have a phone charger at work at at home and during the time its not plugged in (road trips) i can get 12+ hours and thats enough time to go between chargers.
Bullet 2.9b + juice defender. 20 hours EASY

like people has been saying, a lot of the screenshots posted don't show how long their display time on is (when you tap display in the battery usage). I think this averages around 3 1/2 to 4 hours display time on (varies on settings). 4 hours display on is extremely good.
Question: i don't know why but my battery usage graph likes to reset itself and only show my usage AFTER it drops from 100%. For example, right now under the graph it says 2hrs 50mins... but on top it says 3hrs 43mins. and yes im pretty sure i've had the phone unplugged after a full charge at 3hrs 43 mins ago... Does this happen to anyone else?
I got 1d 19hrs running beast mod 4.2 setcpu oc'd to 1.8/ondemand. 50% screen brightness with moderate usage.

I believe the graph only gets updated whenever your battery percentage drops. In your example above, the phone had been staying at the current percentage for almost an hour, which is a good thing.
I'm on the ViperOne ROM and what would you recommend to save battery life? (Whether it be apps, a battery saver, etc.) I'm getting on average about 8-10 hours. I feel like it should be much more than that but who knows I'm probably wrong and that's the norm lol.

8-10 hours from 100% to 0%? It seems very low. There are people that can squeeze as much screen on time out of our M8. Maybe try an app like GSAM Battery Monitor or BetterBatteryStats to see if you have any wakelocks or any rogue apps that suck your battery.
You could also try Greenify which hibernates apps that are not active to conserve battery.
But my opinion is to reflash your ROM with full wipe and no tweaks or apps installed, run it for 2-3 days and check if you see a difference.
Using stock ROM and managing to get about 13 to 14 hours with 6 to 7 hours of on-screen time, depends on my usage which is light to moderate. Don't know if that's good enough though... however I'm satisfied with these stats. I know that I can achieve better though.
Performed all textbook instructions on how to increase battery life, switch off location services or put it on battery saving mode, increase your sync intervals or switch that off too.
I disabled 4G and got a lot better battery times from that only. 3G speeds are fine for me and im usually near a wifi network anyways.
And you can always enable 4G for those rare occasions where you need really high internet speeds and there's no wifi network nearby.
I come from an Xperia T. Got almost 1,5hours of screen-on time. Now this phone, it is madness. As student that uses his phone a lot, with 3/4G, wifi,... I am still impressed. On a normal day I can get 2 full day's with like 3hours of screen on time a day. For someone looking for good battery life, I think this may be one of if not the best phone to get!
I'm losing about 8.3% battery life an hour according to the GSam app. There doesn't seem to be anything out the ordinary either.

To be fairly honest, I don't think there's anything out of the ordinary here, apart for your wakelocks and since you've been doing a lot of gaming, I presume they are pushes from your games?
Also your percentage per hour is fairly decent if not good and 6 hours of on screen time is decent as well.
What you could try to do is disable push notifications from your apps as well as reduce your sync intervals for your social media applications.
If nothing helps, I would suggest a reset but that's only if nothing's changed over the coming days.
Keep us posted on how your battery is holding up bud.

Thank you so much for looking it over. I'll take a look at them and see if there's a way to turn them off and if it helps.
I'm running PA with Furnace and yesterday I got over 7 hrs SOT using Wifi. I was on reddit, playing games, videos, etc.. For me, coming from a Gnex that is awesome and I couldn't be any happier.
I use Greenify and the clear recents option. Kernel settings are stock besides Eco Mode, Max to 1728000 and Vibration Strength to 1300.
Putting governor on conservative also helps a lot, but your phone will be a bit slower, but not unusably slow though. According to GSAM my average is 19H40M of which 7H40M is SoT. I always have my phone on conservative, pretty much always on WiFi but when I'm not it's on 4G, auto brightness, always on power save mode, auto sync enabled, location on but on power save mode.
I also use greenify which helps a lot too ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify )

Good day, recently s-off, su 2.65 with the marshmallow developer ruu...... Anyone else getting half the battery life vs. Lollipop?
You got 10+ h screen on time on Lollipop?
Now you have approx. 5.5 h SoT and on Lollipop this should be normal too.
Definitely..... Used to get a full day, low usage at work, but a lot of screen on in the evening..... Still went to bed with 40%
Well your phone is being kept awake by something. Check your apps and use a battery monitor app of your choice to track it down.

Your screenshot shows that your screen was on for the whole time (~1h). Try it again on a normal workday (low usage at work, higher usage in the evening) and then compare it to your battery performance on Lollipop. I would expect a quite similar battery life under this conditions.

Not my experience with lollipop......
Marshmallow has increased my battery life. I could normally expect around 4 hours of SoT at the end of the day on Lollipop but now am seeing upwards of 5.5 hours. Check to make sure you don't have any misbehaving apps. Also, you need more time with the update to determine if your battery life has been adversely affected. Give it a day or two and see.

It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the ZTE Axon 7 before depleting the battery.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
One of the better SOT phones I've owned since coming from smaller 4.5 inch screens. I easily get 4 hours on a long day (16 -18 hours off the charger). I watched 2.5 hour movie the other day and did some more stuff. In 8 hours, I had over 5 hours of SOT with 47% battery left.

I don't like gsam because it doesn't read the SOT from the system. It records it's own stats.
GSam battery monitor allows you to see the stock android battery stats and screen on time from there by going to the menu on the bottom right, clicking more and then Battery Use - Built In. If there is an easier way to get to stock android battery stats, I'd love to know.

I would believe it. I got about 5 hours in my last run. What I think ate up about 20% was listening to music through the speakers.. The phone drained faster than normal Witt the speakers on at max volume.. Which makes sense and is 5000% tolerable because how amazing they sound.
Furthermore, if I could get some stronger cell phone signal, that would help with screen on time too. I never have no signal, but I never see over two bars of signal either.
Sorry about double post.. Forgot to include second one..
Ok, I thought this was a battery beast but I think I was wrong. I don't expect any phone's battery indicator to be totally accurate but I've noticed that if I top the A7 up a little the battery doesn't drain *at all* for a long time. I've been letting it go down to 30% then topping it up to 40% where it stays without moving even while I'm streaming music and surfing for half an hour. Fishy.
I thought that as I was on about 3:30 sot at 40% I'd let it go down further to see if it would reach 5 hours. Three charging cycles in a row the phone has hit 19% and then reported that it's empty and shut down.
