Note 2 touch screen is not working ??!! - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Note 2 touch screen is not working? - My samsung note 2 finger touchscreen is not working while my s pen is still working I have reset it but nothing changed. No touch response yaaaaaaaaa :crying:

Factory reset. .if still no response. ..flash back stock rom
scribbled from my note 2 (N7100)

The same Problem after Falsh back in Stock Rom

I am also having this issue. screen does not respond whatsoever to finger or regular stylus input. Only the s-pen works. I too have un-rooted to see if was a software issue, and also in anticipation if I'm going to have to take a trip to the Sprint Store. Anyone out there who knows about a non responsive touch screen on our Note 2?

Michel

I have the totally opposite issue, touch system works fine but the s-pen is messed up. It probably means the s-pen and touch system works on different technologies not just one digitizer.

I am assuming that the the Note 2 has an elecotromagnetic digitizer in addition to the normal capacitive one?

Well, I just came back from the Sprint Store, and they decided to order me a replacement. Woo hoo!

im having same problem...

Touchscreen not as sensitive as SAmoled ?

Hello dear XDA Users ,
Since Yesterday I switched from an Galaxy S to an HTC Desire HD (YAY 4.3 Inch )
I just love this Phone but one thing is making me crazy and I hope you guys can make me calm down:
The Touchscreen is not as Responsive as the SuperAmoled from my old Samsung. This means that when I was trying to use least pressure to move from 1 Homescreen to the other with my Galaxy S it was working. I tried the same thing with my Desire and it has no / less reaction than my Galaxy. I hope I could explain nicely what makes me Mad.
Thanks in Advance for the Replys
PS: This is just my old school English, hope you guys forgive me
PS 2: Maybe it sounds fussy for you Guys but this Phone was expensive and I just want to make Sure that I did an upgrade from Galaxy to Desire HD
They use different digitisers. The one from the Galaxy S is probably more sensitive.

That's right. It's not a problem, like the SGS is better or something. It's just different. Some people, including me,are more annoyed by an oversensitive screen.I for one am ok!
Compared to my Omnia, the DHD is hyper sensitive!
Yeah I agree, sometimes I do not even have to physically touch the screen, and it registers a touch. If Samsung is MORE sensitive, I do not even want to try it
I've used both the DHD and SGS and found them to be equal in sensitivity. That could just be me.

I think dhd is too sensitive. I'd like it has the possibility to decrease the sensibility of the touch... it works without any touch
Anyway welcome on board! This is one of the most interesting and powerful phone on the market.
to be honest it is the best phone ever. and you will get on to use it

More than 2 fingers multitouch?

Hello,
I'm excited that our Gio's have only 2 finger multitouch.
Is that possible to have more than only 2?
Thanks,
djemm,
no
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium
Why you think no?
the hardware isnt capable of it
only high end smartphones can
Still, what use would we get of that?
Evenif the touchscreenwas capable of handling 3 or more touches, the hardware surely die on that...Just try to two-finger-largen a website whichisn't optimised for mobiles...Hardware starts thinking about what to do And doesn't finish thinking about it for longlasting seconds...
^ Good point, mate.
On a software level it can be done. I have multitouch support on me ZTE Light (single touch resistive) But it wont enable you to use more than two fingers. It'll just fool the phone into thinking it and allow apps that require it.

I don't know what sensor is in our gio but actually galaxy 3 can handle up to 5 touch points with custom kernels... not a really high-end modell btw...
As we've said previously, our phone could also handle more than 2 touches, but since we couldn't get any single use of it, but freezing the phone off, nobody yet tried to tweak it out.
Still, it's your turn to do it
on our little 3 inch screeen you dont need more then 3 fingers on your screen neither..
If you've got a question, don't post it in the Development sub-forum.

[Q] Note 2, specific questions

Hey guys,
I have a few questions for the note 2...
1) Does the white version of this phone get dirty?
2) If i put a screen protector will the s pen work fine?
1) nope. today i was watching a review by phonenow and they said surprisinglu the white doe not get dirty by any means..
2)it depends on the quality of screen protector. so it can be both ways itcan not effevt or affect it too

2: Unless there is something radically different about the Note II screen or pen, then the iShield screen-protector should work absolutely fine it all works perfectly fine with my Note I
I hope this helps?

[Q] Galaxy Note 2 Custom rom with Wacom

Hello all,
I've recently ordered a Galaxy Note II from Three (the description was vague so idk if LTE version or not) and I was wondering what a good custom rom would be so that I could still use the Wacom technology in it and have a functioning S-Pen, I was also wondering if there was any mods or apps that would allow me to use my Note as a graphics tablet for my PC which would be pretty cool.
But in your opinion, what is the best custom rom for the N7000 and N7150
thanks
Also I'd like to know an app so I can use my phone as a graphics tablet.
I seen some but is there a way to configure any of them so if I put my SPen at the top right of the phone it'll go to the top right of the screen on my laptop, if you know what I'm trying to say, so the position of the mouse on the screen is relative to the position of the pen on the phone, like most graphics tablets work.

[Q] tab pro 8.4 touchscreen sensitivity

My wife has severe arthritis in her hands and loves to play Words with Friends. She really likes the tab pro but has some problems with the super sensitivity of the touch screen. Is it possible to lower the sensitivity on this unit? Thanks

The "NAI" firmware has very very sensitive touchscreen. That's fixed in ND3 and NG1 and any later firmwares. So I'd say check your firmware first.
