Please help fast! :\ - HTC Wildfire S

Basically, I was going to sell my HTC Wildfire S, so I decided to flash a Sense ROM that looked like the Stock ROM (KimmsMod Supreme) so that the person who buys it will have the "HTC" features.
I wiped data/factory reset, wiped the cache partition, wiped the battery stats and dalvik cache and then installed it through Clockwork Recovery.
However, once I done this I got stuck on the white HTC Logo.
So I tried to install another ROM, another ROM, another ROM...still stuck on the white HTC Logo!
So then I relocked my bootloader and unlocked it again. I then tried to flash the stock ROM by renaming it to PG76IMG.zip and that STILL didn't work.
I then tried to install Clockwork Recovery Mod but I nothing happened/I got "CID Incorrect!" error.
All I want is to restore this HTC Wildfire S to the stock ROM, to make it like it's new so I can sell it. (Buying a new WFS later)
I would appreciate any help I receive, preferably before tuesday. :fingers-crossed:
Thanks!
By the way this is the GSM version, the Radio says 7.54.39.28M
HBOOT 1.09.0099

mostly people having the same problem.. even me too... hehe... I ran into this kind of problem two weeks ago.. But I didnt did anything, it solved automatically... If you have a backup of stock or sense kinda roms.. restore it.. It surely will work... cuz it worked for me.. It stucks on HTC logo only when I tried to flash a new rom... so better try your luck...

I like this guy selling stuff but saying its something else. The buyer will find out that its rooted.

[Q] rooted desire

hallo all,
i have a question,
i rooted mijn unbranded htc desire (t-mobile), and everything is working. but everytime when i restart myn desire i see t-mobile circle rose color..
anyone know why??
i did wipe partition ,wipe factor reset and dalvik cache.
unrEVOked 3.14 tool
I'm not 100% sure, but if you did all those wipes AFTER rooting, then you have basically wiped your rom off the phone (Someone correct me if I'm wrong)
If you can still get into recovery then I'd firstly try flashing a new rom.
i tried anthor Roms (lee Roms, opendesire) i have same probleem withe start logo tmobile circle when switching On the phone,
i can access the recovery clockworkmod v2.5.0.7 so the phone is rooted?
but why i can't remove tmobile ugly logo ?
Because it is in a part of the system that is not rooted. You'd need an S-Off device. Currently not available for gsm. Unrevoked is working on it.

[Q] S-Off/Rooting/ROM Questions for Virgin Mobile HTC Wildfire S

Hi,
I recently purchased the HTC Wildfire S from Virgin Mobile and would like to root it. After reading some great tutorials put out by you guys, I'm fairly confident I can successfully root my device. How ever I have a few concerns:
1. Is my device the HTC marvel, marvelc, or marvelct?
2. Are there custom ROMs for my device?
3. Can I remove the bloatware/re-partition the internal memory without a new ROM?
Thanks ahead of time to those that help, and sorry for taking up your time with n00bie questions
EDIT: Also do I need to do anything to my bootloader just to root? My understanding is that its only necessary for changing ROMs.
Marvelc or a510c, there are custom roms and modified roms and roms that are being built like cm7 for the marvelc, check out the development forum and see whats crackin
HTC Wildfire S (VM) "s-off" "rooted" Stock Rom
Thanks I will take a look over there. When I started looking I saw a lot of people saying there are only ROMs for the marvel
No theres ssrom, simonstock rom that rom is sweet! Check it out
HTC Wildfire S (VM) "s-off" "rooted" Stock Rom
Can I get links to these? I think I found the SSROM already but glanced over it. I will revisit that one. As of now SS may be the only ROM I have found for the marvelc.
Thanks again guys
Just wait a little bit, some are being built
HTC Wildfire S (VM) "s-off" "rooted" Stock Rom
I have the HTC Wildfire S from VM, rooted, CWM 5.0.2.6, S-off, and when i try to install any custom rom, it will install fine then ill boot it up and it will be at different points during the bootup process animation screen where it will freeze and restart over and over. Sometimes it will get to the lockscreen and freeze there. The only rom that hasnt done that so far is the CM7 alpha. I have tried to install: .sense, jmz, and team marvelUS rom for the marvelc, and still not able to do anything. Has anyone encountered this problem and fixed it, anyone can give me anything extra to try? i have wiped data/factory reset, wiped cache/dalvik, and battery stats, also tried not wiping any of those. The custom stock rom still works fine if i install it.

Did u make a partition before trying jmz and teammarvelusc? I haven't tried .sense yet but I know that at least on jmz u need at least a 512mb partition or u may encounter some problems. Also, what hboot do u have? U could also try formatting /boot to see if that helps. Could also be too high of a CPU oc. Cm7 alpha is set at 600mhz, jmz and teamusc have their kernels oc'd to 806 by default if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks for your quick reply! I did try the partition of 512mb and just in case a swap of something too haha. My hboot version is 1.06. And on the processor speed that makes sense. Is there a way to change that in the rom before I load it or do I have to luckily catch my phone before it freezes?
There may be a flashable stock kernel out there for marvelc, if anyone would know it would be Simon or insink. There should be one around this forum somewhere I would think.
You could also try m1ndh4xr8's kernel, its oc by default but I've had good luck with it.

Well I did install that kernel and it actually worked with stock rom, but my wifi now says error haha any ideas. Btw thanks for the clues on the kernel I may just use that one with other roms and see if that works. But any clues on the wifi?

Try this its made especially for marvelc

Or check out ROM Manager for flawless ROMs
Well problem with jmz is that it keeps my phone on a reboot loop. And rom manager I tried but it never worked for me on any of my phones for installing roms haha but I did download the rom and installed on cwm.
help
does anyone know where too get the offical img files for virgin mobile usa. like kernel, recovery, system and so on.
No I couldn't find them from VM I found the stock rom on the forum I believe but don't remember where. I still got it do u need it? The rom has the stock kernel in it obviously lol

Ya i remember encountering that problem back when there wasn't really any support for marvelc. I attached the 2 kernels i have on my sdcard that i know for sure work completely with no errors. Copy them to your sdcard, then the first thing i would try is boot into cwm, wipe cache and dalvik cache. then flash the attached m2ndh4x8r kernel, as thats the one i currently use. See if that fixes your wifi problem. If it doesn't, then do the same for the attached jmz kernel. If neither of those are fixing the wifi issue, then u will need to install a different rom. When i first bought my phone and was on stock, the wifi didn't even work at all, till i rooted and went custom.

I am Desperate with this HTC Desire

Hello guys !
First of all i want to say that I've tried EVERYTHING around to resolve the issue, but it seems that nothing is working. So long story short :
My friend bought used HTC Desire since i own DHD and he liked it alot but didnt have the money to buy DHD ,so the day he got it he tried to root it , He said that it was sucessfully and he instaleld some custom rom and went to bed, when he woke up in the morning his Desire Display was flashing with the boot animation(the ROM one) over and over again. He treid to install other ROM and the effect was the same, stuck at animation repeating over and over again. So He called me,i got to his house and tried to solve the issue but i didnt have luck there ,so i got the phone with me at my home. I started digging where the problem was...i was sure it was the rom ,tried to install 5-6 oter roms - no luck . Tried to flash with RUU- no luck ,kept getting " The main version is older" error . So i kept digging and tried to install the RUU throught H-boot by making PB99IMG.zip file, got the same error.Tried to use the update.zip solution - still no luck.Tried to change the recovery from clockwork to any other recovery ,but didnt have luck since i cant access the android and i am getting errors if i try to archive the file to update.zip.
So i need some help if its possible, sorry for my english and if the info that i provided is not that good ask me whatever u like.
also in The H-boot menu it says :
BRAVO PVt4 Ship S-ON
H-Boot-0.93.0001
MICROP-051d
TOUCH PANEL - SYNT0101
RADIO-5.11.05.14
from what i got by reading is that i cant s-off cuz of the bravo pvt4 ..

Full wipe + wipe from the advanced menu !
Lol, read thru the OP and same thing going over and over in my head "Did you wipe? Did you wipe? Did you wipe?"
When you start out with "I've tried EVERYTHING", make sure you actually did try everything, because it's pretty obvious you didn't.
Did it also display flash bootanimation over and over again after Ruu?

You have to wipe BEFORE flashing, not after.
Some Roms store important parts on /data, which will be erased during the wipe.

This is true lol. If you install then wipe you prob won't be able to get further than the boot screen.

Take it your mate didn't take a nandroid back-up before trying to flash, so he could restore it in case any issues occurred? Have you done full wipe then tried flash ROM from recovery then? Does the ROM need an ext partition - will boot loop if one doesn't exist.
Depending on the HBOOT version, using alpharev or revolutionary will S-OFF PVT4s - but this isn't the solution to your current problem unless you're trying roms that need non-stock hboots, in which case try something that doesn't first. S-OFF via AlphaRev also best done with rooted stock ROM, some custom sense ROMs also seem to work (don't know about revolutionary as i took alpharev route) - but get custom ROM running first before thinking about doing anything else.

Just saw your post. Too bad it's too late. Anyways the situation was kinda funny: So the HTC kept booting untill the "rom logo" (You know the logo after the HTC one), tried to install other ROM's (Full wipe before ofcourse) and it didn't work ofcourse, so I kept digging and i saw some threats where people were saying that clockwordrecovery wasn't working with my version h-boot, ah and trying installing RUU didnt work too(also trying to install PB99IMG.zip from sdcard didnt work too) ,was always getting "The main version is older" error! So we flashed AlphaRev, and finally the phone was S-Offed, after this i got my DHD's sd card since it was a gold card and i put it into the Desire , i had a PB99IMG.zip file from the previous day on it! So i started the bootloader, it detected the PB99IMG.zip file and I didn't get the "Main Verison is older" error, it asked if the file should be updated and i pressed "yes" and the phone gone off...guess what it was compleatly bricked, only vibrating and the screen didn't work....we were like OMG WTF ...so we installed SDK tools and started looking for adb commands/guides ...after 4 hours we were on about to quit and suicide ourselves cuz we didnt get anything and it was getting late...i was like " duh, lets blind try the PB99IMG.zip method again and rest till tomorrow" ,i downloaded the newest PB99IMG.zip from shipped-roms.com ,got it on my sd card and got the sd card back in the desire . Pressed Power + vol down, waited 2 mins and pressed vol up again, waited like 10 more mins, nothing happaned...we got all emo and mad ,2 more friends of us came to my mate's flat ( they are not into phones or anything ,complete noobs),one of them got the phone took of the baterry and the sdcard ,put the baterry back, pressed Power ON button and the phone ****ing started ....we all were like WOOOOOOOOT OMG OMG ,it was like magic xD ...so its fixed now and it has the stock rom and its unrooted...

HOX very weird behavior, need help plz

I was a newbie, and i didn't take a backup from my stock rom, and i couldn't find it at all as it was "1.29.709.12" so with help of a friend of mine we managed to install ARHD 7.1.0 instead.
and after a while i decided to install CyanogenMod9 Beta1, so i toke a CWM 5.8.4.0 recovery backup and installed it and everything was fine, then i came across an unleashed cm9 v18 which has more fixes and i installed it, but the BT was not working at all, so i managed to get back to the backed up CM9 but the same problem occurred and the BT is not working at all, it doesn't even wanna change the on/off button.
so i tried to revert to the ARHD 7.1.0 and i restored it but it loops in quietly brilliant screen, i used aa super wipe patch and i installed it again and the same behavior happening, looping and looping
now the only rom that opened up is the "IceCold build 7"
please guys advice me what shall i do, every time i clear cash, I install the proper boot.img, wipe data/factory reset, and wipe cash partition. then whats wrong with my steps? why it doesn't work?
I advise you to stop fuking about and learn before you play.... its kind of like school but its more expensive.

the problem is that my RUU is "1.29.709.12" which is not exists at all, it looks like my phone is the only one world wide that has this RUU
is there anyway to flash another RUU without having "ERORR: 155"?
The RUU doesn't do anything special, it just wraps it up into a nice easy to use package. There must be quite a few threads and hundreds of posts explaining how to fix this.
Off the top of my head, quite possibly wrong.
Unlock.
Flash recovery
Flash boot.img
Fastboot erase cache
Superwipe
Flash Rom
Flash modules.
Relock
Search and you'll find.
im puzzled, why didnt u full wipe every restore?
After flashing boot image, did you do fast boot erase cache

Confusing problem..

Hey guys,
I've currently got a HTC One X that is stuck in the bootloader. I have got Clockworks Flash Recovery 5.8.4.0 installed but haven't got any rom working. I was using Cyanogenmod until my screen started flickering and eventually it was unbearable so I tried to upgrade it. The newer version didn't support the older hboot (1.12) and therefore the update failed. I tried installing other roms from the forum but had no luck with any of them.
The steps i've been taking are basically flash the boot.img, wipe data/factory reset, install the zip, wipe the data/factory reset and dalvik cache and then reboot the phone but after all of these steps I end up stuck with a bootscreen of the rom i'm trying to install. I have followed tutorials word by word and I am still stuck on the bootloader. I'm really in a dead end here as I'm not that knowledgeable when it comes to HTC, any help would be appreciated as all I want is my phone to be working!
Not sure if it's useful but..
S-ON
HBOOT-1.12.0000
RADIO-1.1204.90.13H
and the CID is H3G_001
Thanks,
Luke
If you make a factory reset after installing the custom rom in the recovery you actually wiped it again. Only perform a full wipe before the rom. Don't wipe anything after ......
Ow and you can't install any sense based JB roms. You need to update the hboot first
..
Thanks for the fast reply,
I've looked all over the forum and they all seem to be JB with Sense of some sort? Hate to be lazy but i've tried searching and can't find anything that would be compatible, would you be able to link me a rom that should work as i've got no clue.
Thanks,
Luke
Why don't you update the hboot and flash anything you like
This is a very useful thread for you

Will take a look and let you know how I get off, Thank you!

Problem is fixed after a whole day of trying. Got there in the end with a little assistance.
Thanks for your help
