Speaker boost app for fk23 leak? - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Just wondering if anybody's knows any apps that increase sound on the jb leaks.
Watching a movie is not easy on fk23. At +15 and I have really good hearing too

Then it just might be your speaker cuz nobody that I know of has complained about volume on fk23 or fl16 jb leaks. You can try volume+.

[Q] EX4 and Voodooo Sound?

Im wondering, coming from the OG Epic, if anything is in the works for a kernel with EX4 and Voodoo sound support? Would the ET4G benefit from these kernel mods?
Im pretty sure the phone is ext4 stock... And vodoo sound idk..
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
The E4GT is ext4 stock.
I'm sure Voodoo support would be a welcome addition, since the E4GT has the same Yamaha DAC as the SGSII.
Good to know they ditched RFS.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I'll be looking into this for a future kernel release
No voodoo sound I emailed supercurio, he will not work on the sgs2 because it uses a different audio chip (yamaha). He believes its not worth working on.

That's terrible news!
Does anyone know a comparable app for improved sound quality/bass boost?

Well Poweramp has an adjustable EQ but be careful because the damn app always runs in the background.

(REQUEST) kernel or ROM with voodoo sound support

I tried looking through a few pages of the dev section and didn't see anything regarding this feature. Is it obsolete? If I could make a wish list for features baked in, then here they are:
Stock kernel
No ciq
Cal's battery life mod
Ek02 would be good but el26 would be nicer
No themes
odex, but if it would be easier to deodex then go ahead
Nothin fancy. Thanks ahead of time if someone does this.

Shouldn't be hard to find something real close to that in the dev section already. I'm not sure if anyone has a kernel with voodoo sound support yet.
Would love to have voodoo sound. Made video recordings in a loud environment on my OG Epic possible.

Even if its bone stock with voodoo sound/screen capable kernel, I'd be happy.
One thing I just thought about, maybe our phones don't have the sound chip hardware that the galaxy 1's had. I don't know the specifics so I couldn't speculate. Maybe there could be a voodoo sound/screen driver for galaxy 2 phones. Like voodoo^2
And bln support too

BLN is easy, voodoo isn't compatible with the DAC in our phones afaik

That's my understanding too. I don't think we will ever see Voodoo on this phone unfortunately. I am using the paid PowerAmp. It has a nice EQ. You can also check out AudioBoost SGS2 and Equalizer apps from the Market

Best 4.1.1 ROM?

Hey, i was wondering which is the most stable Jellybean rom?
If possible, could you please provide the bugs that it has?
Also, i read that most of the jb roms have rr and sod, but im not exactly sure what either of those are.
If someone could tell me what those two terms are, i would be extremely grateful.
I've been using JB AOKP as my daily device and its been pretty good. Even a week ago, i've been getting RR (random reboots) but the latest build, from what I experience is pretty good.
+1 to JB AOKP. I'm running nightlies, with only 1 SoD (sleep of death - goes to sleep, doesn't wake up) shortly after my flash today. JB is sweet. go for it!
CM10 is my personal favorite! Not a big fan of AOKP. The camera does work and some random reboots do happen! I enjoy messing around with it but fact is there is no JellyBean ROM out that is STABLE!

I think the JB race goes back and forth one day BB has his lead and the next WHX just comes and smashes and then you got Erik will coming out of nowhere and boom! Lol so it's neck and neck but I'm using Erick wills right now I was on AOKP for a bit but some RRs here and there that I wasn't digging with erik I only get like 1 SOD a day and it's usually while I'm charging lol

I guess I spoke too soon. I've had 2 SoDs since I commented. I'm back on CM9 now, sick of all the SoDs and RRs on the JB ROMs. I'm just going to hold off until there's something more stable.

How many are still on GB and why?

Just a poll of who is still using GB and why?

Great battery life and everything works flawlessly. Don't need to do any special tweaking or disabling or vodoo to get good battery life and have a stable phone.

I'm on GB too unnamed rom now.I just wish there were more GB roms out.
I am also. Because it is way smoother than ics. Really the only reason battery wise I got same on ics as gb. But can't wait to get the jb update!

Just switched back to UnNamed for the weekend. When i need to 100% depend on my phone, GB is always there for me and never fails me.
Unforuntely Im a flash addict so i will keep switching roms. But can always depend on good ol' gingerbread

I keep a Blazer 4.1 always ready and load it regularly to update apps then re-backup. By far the most reliable I've had. I'm on venum Fi27 right now. Its the best ICS I've had so far.

better battery life...
I don't know if anyone is picking up on the trends here. But you will notice people basically stating they either use or in some way shape or form revert back to gb to get things done or perform functions that should be trivial. With that in mind it becomes clearer and clearer that samsungs implementation (not Google) of ics is seriously flawed. I can only pray that jb doesn't turn out like ics.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
Surprised to see the support for gb. I do live the battery life, but the ui of ics is just too nice.
With that said, is calk's Rom still considered the best gb Rom? I've seen unnamed and phantom mentioned as well.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
I'm on calks 3.0 and I love this Rom and the battery life.. don't get me wrong, I love ics/jb bells and whistles and the customization but the stability of a gb rom can't be beat until all the bugs are ironed out... but who knows, maybe when ics /jb is really official and there's an officialcustom kernel built, I don't see gb being beat...
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
On Calkulin GB rom
Only reason still on GB is not sure how to pop up to ICS or Jelly a little confused and looking for a good how to upgrade breakdown tutorial.
I would've stayed on blazer or any gingerbread if YouTube and Songza were usable, no 4G in my area and those apps would just keep loading on 3g. I honestly don't see any difference in battery life with gingerbread and the newer ICS roms, only slight speed difference.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
i went to JB/ICS but the download speeds are so much slower for me on them so i stick to GB to tether to my laptop.
Me. just all around more stable and faster to me.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
I'm running blazer 4.1 because the GB data speeds/ping are better than ICS/JB. I can't stand the touchwiz super-scroll and AOSP ICS/JB still has the 4G bug. Once AOSP fixes the 4G bug I will update. I have never had battery problems on any Rom.

[Kernel][AOSP] BasicKernel 01/31

Okay.. Most of you people know who I am.. and if you know me you know I am not much of a kernel dev ... Regardless, I love AOSP but while running CM10.1, I felt I was missing some things that were more readily available for a Stock ROM.. Things such as (unofficial)Voodoo sound, Overclocking and Undervolting.. So I went ahead and forked CM's kernel and added a few needed things.
Notes:
Thie kernel is for AOSP only!
This kernel include's codeworkx's downgrade to mali r2p4 commit from CM's gerrit.. In this commit codeworkx specifically states that there is a memory leak. Now I will also say this.. This downgrade greatly improves the graphical glitches found in the android 4.2 ROMS, IE no more keyboard funkyness etc... I have yet to see this leak myself and think the trade-off is worth it. If this causes serious issues for people let me know.
Features:
Unofficial Voodoo sound driver (otherwise this has not been reviewed and approved by Supercurio)
OverClock up to 1.8 Ghz
CPU Undervolting
Downgrade to mali r2p4 which fixed graphic glitches

Is this compatible with Stweaks for tuning issues?
Is the voodoo like sound a port of "scooby do" code?

no this is not compatable with stweaks nor is is Scoobydoo sound.. It does work with the voodoo sound app though.. I will say this again.. This has not been tested nor approved by SuperCurio so he could very well block the download from the app store which is in his right to do. Regardless I am sure he will eventually release proper support for Voodoo in the near future and when he does I will add it.

This kernel works just fine by my testing and I would like to send my thanks over to you. All I care about is speed, fidelity, and battery life and I have only noticed an increase in each of those fields. Soon I will work with you on this and push some helpful commits!

Loving this kernel but unfortunately I have seen the aforementioned memory leak. First time earlier today Tasker complained of low memory. Been running Tasker for a while and never have I had it complain until I flashed kernel. Second time was later today when I noticed I only had ~200 mb of ram free and hasn't used my phone in hours. I have a widget on homescreen with system stats so it's hard to miss. Liking the OC/UC ability and voodoo though. Thanks again.
