Hey guys, I've been having problems with random shutdowns with the new update and the only way to prevent it that I found was by rooting the phone. The problem with that is the camera doesn't work properly. It shows no picture when you open it up. The root method I used was the CWM UCLE5 ICS root. Anybody know of any way to root the phone and keep the camera working normally?

So I take it your a on stock rom with root access? Try flashing another rom, or restore a backup?
Yea I am on a stock rom. I did restore it the first time that happened and it worked for 2 weeks, but it happened again.
Are you changing any settings? You may want to try sprint lovers rom, its pretty much the exact stock rom you're on now. I'm not too familiar witht he camera just stopping on ya.
Hi guys i'm on this phone since early october 2012 and all seemed to be running smoothly without any problems, i also installed root + busybox + custom kernel. The problem is that since mid december the phone random reboots when i'm outside, and mostly when i don't still in a particular place, but when i'm moving. The phone reboots only when is locked, so i never experienced a force close using it. I was on 4.1.2 and very bored by the problem i flashed original 4.2.1 and did root + busybox + custom rom and the problem is not solved! It reboots randomly in my pocket and this is very annoying.. Can't find a solution, so hope you guys can help me solve this problem, thanks in advance!

Howdy folks, first post
I have 2 Samsung Galaxy S3 I747Ms from Bell running stock 4.1.2, and have recently rooted both.
On the first one, everything is running fine, despite the horribly cracked screen.
On my better-condition phone, every time I try to use the front-facing camera, it hangs for 10-15 second then displays the "Camera Failed" popup.
It did not do this before rooting, I have flashed back to bell's stock 4.1.2 FW several times, all of which fixed the camera.
It only fails when it's rooted, so no hardware suggestions pls.
Anything I can do, such as copying system files from the good S3 to the other?
Thanks in advance for any help you may provide
I don't see how rooting breaks the camera?

If it's only a root and not a custom rom flash, then there's no reason your camera would stop working. I'm thinking hardware defect.

It turned out to be software somehow. Fixed it, but Still baffled.
Hi guys,
I've got the S9 and I rooted it with tarp and magisk, everything went smoothly but for some reason my texts/calld aren't coming but I can use data just find and send a call/text.
I flashed the original firmware and that still didn't sort it.
Is there any way rooting the phone could have caused this and if so, how would I go about fixing it?
Thanks.
Hi team
I recently purchased an ex Demo HTC One M9 as a cheap replacement to my broken Galaxy S7 Edge, as soon as I received it I decided to flash TWRP and a new ROM on it. I was able to unlock the bootloader via HTCDEV.com easily enough and I was able to flash TWRP onto it without issue but when it came to the ROM's I ran into many problems.
Any version of Android that is Nougat or lower would not boot, the phone would go straight to the white bootloader screen every time. Oreo and Pie ROMs were able to boot but I ran into separate issues with them, I could not make or receive phone calls as the whole phone would freeze and there was no audio in from the speaker. I was also unable to play any videos in Facebook, YouTube, Snapchat etc.
I tried every single ROM available here on XDA and ran into these issues. I stupidly also did not make a TWRP backup of my system so it was quite hard to revert back to what it came from factory, I managed to get a stock Marshmellow running thanks to a User here posting a TWRP backup so thanks.
Is anyone able to help me with upgrading to Nougat? I would really like to get the Viper ROM working if possible, is it a known issue getting stuck in the bootloader menu every time?
I've tried just updating through the OTA process in the menu but it says there is no update file available.
Cheers
