I have flashed back from FL16 to FI27 and i am currently running stock with no root.
I was wondering if i could use the stock hotspot hack for the FI27 found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1879140
So can i use this while not rooted? as in can i root then install this then unroot and will it still work?
Please dont ask why i dont wanna keep rooted... or why i downgraded...

ok so I was reading and it said that if I use oneclick i wont just have stock rom after I have to flash a new rom of some kind. Is there not a one click or z4 type root like we had before. I only want to root to use the wifi teather and want to keep everything else stock I also dont wanna have to loose my apps or anything. any ideas
Thanks
1 click should leave the rest of the phone alone, just give you root.
CM7 ON MY EPIC!
The one.click will give you superuser access and flash a recovery to your phone. You stay on the stock rom/kernel unless you flash a custom rom/kernel.

ok this is the part that was worrying me
IF YOU ARE ON AN ODEXED ROM (DEFAULT OTA) THEN YOU NEED TO REFLASH A ROM AFTER THE CONVERSION!!!!!!! ODEXED ROMS DO NOT GET RESTORED PROPERLY
that is right out of the one click directions found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=897612
and I do have the OTA update.
Ok, my phone has been rooted since the day I got it, I went back to the stock rom to install a new custom rom, but then I got a message for an ICS ota, I downloaded it not thinking that I would lose root access, but I did. I like the phone the way it is now with the official ICS, but I would like to gain root access back for wifi tether underclocking ect. Can anyone point me in the direction of steps to just obtain root access but keep my ICS..? I do not want to go back to gingerbread. Please and thanks! - James.
Download SFHubs Rooted 1 click Odin ff18 "No Data" and it will put you back to rooted without clearing any apps or data.

So two questions.. how did my phone get unrooted? And more importantly how do I root it safely again? I was looking at the auto-root tool and it says in the instructions it's not for newer versions. That's why I ask what's the safest way to root again, thanks guys!
What exactly did you flash on? Sounds like you flashed a non rooted fi03. Do you want to just have rooted fi03?
I'm running ICS 4.0.4 I had FH13 and I was rooted, I flashed to the FI03 version and all the sudden I was trying to run a rooted app and it said my phone wasn't rooted?! So yeah wondering if that's just a side effect of flashing, and again the safest way to get it rooted again.

@Bannjio Thanks given! Appreciated!
Glad I could help
I am trying to find the easiest way possible for someone to flash the updated md4 stock rom. This person is already rooted. They want to upgrade so they will have multiwindow. They are in another city so I cant do it myself. I remember Treve has a rom that backs up your rom before it flashes the unrooted stock. I was wondering is there something similar to that but will flash the rooted latest stock?
Here is the thread with the md4 modem/baseband. I've never seen a ROM that makes a back up for you. You can make nandroid while in recovery. That will be the back up you need in the event of a problem.

Using ODIN is the best way to go. This link explains everything. All that person needs to know is how to open the ODIN, select file under PDA option and click Start.

So currently my device is running stock Rom and stock recovery that has a root flashed with Odin so I could manually edit framework on dmd5.
I was thinking of doing the same thing with the new version.
But as I understand it any modification will break the Knox Samsung function and cause issues and can't be reverted.
What would be the best way of getting a stock upgrade with just root?
Probably best to flash a custom recovery and just run a specific stock Rom or is there a way to do this with Odin still?
I so far haven't been able to find a way to do that.
Basically I just would like a stock Rom since I use WiFi calling and would like a modified framework to enable tethering bypass and Bluetooth tethering with it.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time.

Search for and read on Doc Holiday's thread for Leaked Stock 4.3 update with KNOX Removed.
Oh okay.
I found his thread.
Basically just put on a custom recovery and let it hit the flash counter
then install his rom I guess?
