It is cdma only without a hardware mod. It has an integrated sim for Lte only, but you can take the sim out and put any in. It takes a bit of work though.

[Q] 3G NOT working on International Unlocked Version!

I bought the unlocked version (R800i) and im using it on a latinamerican network (MOVISTAR COLOMBIA) which is a GSM carrier but i can not get 3G speeds. Does it have to do with the supported bands? How can i change my supported bands?
BTW: This carrier works with GSM 850/1900 bands and according ro GSM arena it supports the following bands:
-2G Network: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
-3G Network: HSDPA 900 / 2100
HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100 / 800
Have you set up your apn settings

The r800i only have 3g 900 and 2100 hsdpa ...the 850 MHz hsdpa is only disponible in r800a and r800at model. Dont work 3g with your operator. Sorry the bad english.

I think what he's trying to say is you bought the wrong model.. Sorry dude.
hi guys having the same issue.
i have Xperia Play (R800i) running on Telekom (Slovakia). I asked folks over there on what frequency is their 3G running, they told me that 1800.
Does it mean that i will have just 2G (Edge) available if in my paper is UMTS HSPA Band 1 8 GSM GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900?
Telekom offered this mobile in the end of 2011 so I am curious whether they would offer mobile with no 3G capability.
Thanks
R800i: GSM (2G) 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900, HSDPA (3G) 900 / 2100
R800at: GSM (2G) 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900, HSDPA (3G) 850 / 1900 / 2100 / 800
The R800i will not work with 850 and 1900 bands. You can't change the support band, you'll have to buy a different phone. It is hardware limitation btw, if you flash R800at firmware and baseband to your R800i, it will not make it work.

thanks for your reply, if my provider is telling that its 3G is running at 1800 Mhz, it should run right? currently i am running just 2G :/ and even when carrier selection i have just 2g shown. Can it be SIM related? i have changed mine a week ago.
Edit: just checked in TMobile that lady ran my SIM on her phone and H appeared. it has to be phone related somehow.
how can i find out whether my 800i wasnt transfered from some at, a version?
I talked do Data centre and R800i was in one of the action of Telekom , when i select only WCDMA, i lose any access to the service, carrier told me that it has to do something with the phone.
I guess that there were 3G and 4G versions of Play, not the version without 3G

Perhaps all problems will be solved at once if you bought the correct model?!

The 1800 is listed under both R800i & R800at as 2G frequency. I hate to say it but as its been stated already in this thread you bough the wrong model.

[Q] Difference between "Korean" and non-Korean version?

Hi,
Sorry if this sounds ...well, dumb, but w/r/t rooting/ROMs on the LU-6200, are any of the progs, ROMs, advice, etc on this board compatible/does it work with the Korean version of this device? Is there a difference btwn. the Korean and "non-Korean" version of this device?
Thanks
I wanna ask the same thing, anybody can help please..
Is this phone GSM-CDMA network capable using a simcard?
perhaps I should clarify. do the difference in hardware, if any, affect rooting and flashing capabilities? My friend's phone is Korean-made; I'd like to know if I could use the apps and info found on this board to root/flash.
Eg. My Samsung Galaxy Player and the one sold in Korean are different enough that flashing a ROM/kernel for one would brick the other.

So logically, the LG U+ (LG U6200) can be use either with GSM-HSDPA or CDMA-EVDO simcards, am I correct? (I'm planning to buy this device)
comparison with LG Spectrum LTE http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=4188&idPhone2=4377
Per Wikipedia, the HSDPA 2100 3G freq. should be compatible with T-Mobile. The 4G possibly with Sprint.
Since I'm basing this off of the Wiki and GSM pages and I'm slightly out of my depth, I can't say for certain tho.

It will work for calls and data but data will be 2G. AT&T uses 850/1900 frequencies for 3G and 3.5G and the E975 you found only supports 2100. So, to answer your question, 3G will simply not work.

Oppo R819?

I know this is in the wrong place, but it's the only place with Oppo in the thread title.
Anyone hear about the new device? I don't know if it works on TMO or not but it's in the same spec range as the Moto X and Nexus 4, but at a $350 price point.

Looks SUPER thin, and its face resembles an Iphone.
Yep.. Its their newest device. Already being used in China. It should work on T-Mobile as well. Not a bad device at all. I played with it at XDAevCon and it was fast and smooth, running AOSP, and the camera is great on it!

The bands for it are:
GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 - SIM 1 & SIM 2
HSDPA 850 / 900 / 2100 - SIM 1 & SIM 2
That means it's really only mostly compatible with AT&T. You'll get T-Mobile EDGE and be able to make phone calls as well as maybe some 850 AWS in areas that have that. But that's it.
But on AT&T you'll have issues as well with HSDPA as the 1900 isn't supported.

No UMTS1900. Oh well.

[Q] Can someonehelp me find the version of this phone, and will it work in Canada?

Hi everyone;
First off, if this is in the wrong area, I'm sorry.
I've been looking to get my girlfriend a new phone for her birthday. She has an old Optimus 3D and the screen is cracked. I've been looking online to buy a Optimus G for her and came across a bunch online.
Most of which are listed as F180. I'm not sure what version this ends up being.
I'm hoping to get this phone for her and have it at least work on HSPA+ in Canada on the Rogers Network, but it would be great if it would work on LTE too.
I'm a little confused as to what frequencies Rogers LTE is on. I've read online that it's anything from 700, 850, 1900 , 1700, 2100 and 2600.
According to GSMArena the model frequencies are as follows:
2G Network
GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 - E975, E973, E971
3G Network
HSDPA 900 / 2100 - E975
HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100 - E973, E971
4G Network
LTE 800 / 900 / 1800 / 2100 / 2600 - E975 (market dependent)
LTE 700 / 1700 - E973
LTE 700 / 2600 - E971

According to the Optimus G Wiki page Canada has the E971 and E973 models. If the International Version is E973, this should work on Rogers HPSA+ at least, and at least one frequency for LTE.
Is this correct?
Unfortunately I can't post any links right now because I haven't made enough posts, so I can't link to where I plan on buying the phone from.
Any help or suggestions would be great!
