[Q] Cyanogenmod (ASOP) and MMS size settings - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

With the last several CyanogenMod based roms (PACMan, etc), I have been unable to send MMS messages over 300kb in size. This is using either the default SMS app or Go SMS Pro. Within Go SMS Pro i can change the MMS Size to 5meg but the setting has no effect.
The main problem i am having is trying to send a video. I go to the attachment press record video and with CM 10.1 it says i have 10 seconds of recording. If i go the full 10 seconds it says message size limit reached.
I do not have this problem with ROMS based on Official source.
I have been searching xda and google for nearly 2 weeks to try to resolve this problem and cannot find anything about it. It's like it doesn't even exist.
Anyone know a work around for this?

Not able to get MMS due to size/resolution.

Does anybody know if there's a minimum size limit for MMS? I can receive regular pictures fine but when I receive a small picture, the app will say "the media content was not included due to a picture resolution or message size restriction". Particularly, I was trying to receive rage face pictures from an app from the market. I can send out and the other person receive just fine. I just can't receive. I tested on all the ROMs available on XDA GS2. I'm currently on Juggernaut v4.1. Anybody knows how to fix this?

Did you try flashing the CM7 MMS apk with custom user agent?
Yeah I did and still not working. If I try a small pic with some text, I'd get the text but the pic won't show up. I even tried changing the APN like the iPhone users had. No go still.
Tried a third party app like Go SMS?
Tried that also. No good also. I don't know if it makes any difference but when I send a small pic to myself, it works fine. I tried both radios, KID and KL1. BeastMOD, Jug, DaBomb, Domination...So I guess it's not the ROM or modem. Not like I'm gonna die from this but it just bugs me. hehehe
I had this same problem too until I changed my user agent in the default messaging app to Android-mms/2.0
I don't have this setting 'User Agent' on my T989...

s5660M and Whatsapp user on CM7.2

Hey Guys
When running an android 2.3.7 CM based ROM, i run into these 2 problems.
1). When i have the chat window open on whatsapp, i have to manually flick the screen up to refresh the chat window to see new messages. for example. Let say im chatting with person B, I will see that person B's status is set to "typing", and then once they stop typing their status will switch to "Online". However i do not see the new message they typed, unless i use my thumb, press down on the screen and flick up to manual refresh the Window. IO have this problem only on CM7 based roms. Does anyone one else have this problem
2) Also, when i record something and send it to another person on whatsapp, the recording is broken, again this only happen on cm7 based roms.
I would appreciate it if anybody else could enlighten me on this issue
Thank You
Try reinstalling watsapp

Can I ask, do you mean that if you try and send 1 text it sends 3 or so, or am I misunderstanding?
BANE
No, he means that if you send a text message, get a response and send a new text message, and sends another one you will get that warning message. It is meant as a security feature if an malacious app is trying to send multiple SMS's you will find out.
Saw a similar thread some days ago, but I don't know if they found a workaround for it or not.
Dude I am getting this to and it annoys the hell out of me I have i9250 with tmo and with ICS it didn't do this and I increased the number of texts for it to save and still does this.... I get this message after every text I was in cm went back to stock for jb and now dealing with this and there is just something about being stock I like better but I cannot deal with this

Well, it's nothing to do with the amount of messages to store. It's how many messages you send per minute (or something) that causes that message to appear.
Are you using 3rd party messaging app?
Swiftkey'ed on my CM9 Galaxy Nexus
Nope stock messaging

Any more info on this? Only happens when you heavy text in. Short period of time. But annoying none the less

i'm having the same issue on my gnex with 4.1 jb ...any work around it ?
Just started to get this today. Super annoying!
BUMP!
How can we disable this message for this app?
Bump.
Have the same "issue" (even if it is not one). When I send two or three messages to one person in a reduced amount of time, the warning message pops.
Not something truly important but it starts to bother me..is it a control integrated in Android itself or just the messaging apk ?
Everyone should take a look at this thread and see if the fix works for you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1831289

Dammit you beat me to it, this fix does work if you are using most AOSP based roms, for some reason it does not work on Stock JB but so far has worked on any other custom rom ive tried. simply install open up app and accept what its telling you and you are good to go.
Wow, so good, seems to be working on ParanoidAndroid 1.9.92 with the APK. Thanks !
There are ways to remove that notification
There are some custom ROMs that have removed that notification. If you still see it, there are apps on Google Play (like SMS Limit Unlock or SMS limit tool) that can remove that limit completely. Tried both and only the first one worked on my Android 4.2.2 device, so you're welcome to give them both a try.
(And you will need root, of course...)
Set SMS message limit
Try to look under Settings --> Security --> App Security -> SMS message limit
I have it there and have set it successfully to 200.
of course - it is in settings

Great, those settings under personal/security are so well hidden I had somehow managed to set that to "none".

IS there an MIUI inspired SMS/Texting app?

I've been using CHompSMS for 2 years and it just seems slow to load now. There's a noticeable lag when opening the app up. The default JB Messaging App is fast but it doens't show the time stamp on older messages, only the date.
In CM10 you can enable full time stamps in SMS setting.
I couldn't tell you if your stock.
i'm using AOKP JB nightly builds. I'd like to try CM10 but i've been messing with too many ROMs it got tiring. I"ll look into that though.
Does CM10 allow you to hide contact pictures in the conversation list but enable them in the actual conversation?
I don't think so on the picture deal.
I'm guessing you can enable the time stamps on AOKP. Check the settings from within the messaging app.

160 SMS limit on SlimKat

Does anyone kno how to fix this my SMS text stops at 160 characters with any other AOSP ROM it'll usually just jump to 2/ and will continue the other person will just receive 2 or 3 messages now it just stops I'm on the most recent build of Slimkat anything that u think would help I'd appriciate it
Sent from my LG-LS980 using XDA Free mobile app
You would get a better response in the ROM thread or Q and A. But it must be a setting that you can adjust.

I've had this issue as well, and is been persistent across several ROMs, all that had been done with a clean install. Slimkat, the unfortunately defunct Nameless, Omni, and Carbon. I don't think it's a specific ROM issue. I would like to know more as well and get a dev's opinion. Oddly, the newest Slimkat has an option in message settings to split sms, but after 160 characters it just stops typing
