Wht is SGT7? - Kindle Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I was comparing this roms http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1591850 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2051331. So I found that twa_priv rom contains SGT7 so can you expalain me what's the differece between theese two roms? Thank you

The one by Hashcode isn't actually a ROM. It is just a kernel that is to be used with a Custom ROM. As far as I know SGT7 is a group of developers. If you are looking for a good ROM I suggest this one. It is the one that I use and in my opinion the best Jelly Bean ROM for the Fire.

Sgt7 roms are the ones made for Samsung galaxy tab7, the first galaxy tab that was released..that device was supplied with roms enhancing many features..so to indicate a rom WTH many feature enhances by developers, or a rom of SGT7 modified for amazon kindle fire, Te call it an Sgt7 enhanced ROM..clear??

what is AOKP and AOSP

Hi everyone
Can u tell me what are AOKP and AOSP roms?
what do they do?
are they better than sense roms?
AOSP is an original ROM unmodified as Google intended it to be.
AOKP is based on AOSP but has some slight modifications but not modified to the extent of CM (Cyanogen)
As to if they are better or not well that is a matter of opinion, in terms of performance yeah all AOSP, AOKP and CM ROM's will run smoother and faster than a Sense ROM but there are plenty of people who enjoy the functionality of a Sense based ROM and those who don't.
Thank you! always wondered what that was.
KN
awesome............ dud....
aosp = android open source project
aokp = android open kang project (link https://sites.google.com/site/androidopenkangproject/)

It's not really about the Samsung/Sense apps more about the whole "layer" that i.e. Samsung/HTC put over the basic rom, (touchwiz and sense in the case of samsung/htc).
So if you'd take those layers/apps away you would just have the basis which is just AOSP.
Personally, AOKP is better as it takea some influence from CyanogenMod, which is THE most popular ROM available for devices

They are finally in milestone 6 , ICS final and will start in JB from fresh! That's awesome news because DHD is still supported. There's pics with DHD working with JB.

So do you need clockwork recovery to flash or use aokp?

No. AOKP ROMs are like any other ROM; they can be flashed from any recovery compatible with your phone.

It depends on the phone. For example, on this phone we have Sense because of HTC; other phones will have other overlays (like Samsung's TouchWiz). Also, some ROMs don't reside neatly in one category; for example, we have codefireX because of Team Codefire, which is descended from AOSP, CM, and some AOKP ideas.

[Q] Whats the best custom rom for Desire HD with Android 4.1?

Hey Guys,
I have a question:
What is the best custom rom with android 4.0 or 4.1 or 4.2 (soon) for desire hd in your opinion?
I want to stay on basic android, so the rom shouldn't be to extremely different on the UI.
Thankx
the_zoker_09
I'm running jelly time r24. Its fantastic and stable. I'm not sure 4.2 is even available yet.
sent from my Inspire 4g running Jelly time, pimped and supercharged.
Only you can answer that question. Take a few out for a test ride and see which works best for you and what you want out of it. You wouldn't buy a car without test driving it would you?

Unfortunately, inspiredbyhtc hasn't has the chance to update the development list as much as he would like. I know of:
JellyTime CM10 by randomblame
Unofficial CM10 by synergye
codefireX by synergye
PACman by blindndumb
Super Galaxy by krisjanne
Also Unofficial AOKP by synergye and JellyTime AOKP by randomblame, but they haven't been updated in a long time. synergye's is stopped, and I don't know about random's.
To be honest I think Vipers HTC Sense rom for the DHD is amazing. Version 2.2 is out right now and its great!
Thread has been closed. These types of thread are not allowed. Each rom behaves differently for each person.
The best thing you can do is to try the roms for yourself and see which one suits you best.
Many thanks,
Ghost

[Q] Just rooted my Kindle Fire, questions about the ROMs

I am completely new to rooting and flashing custom ROMs, but I wanted to get more out of my 1st gen Kindle Fire. After studying the excellent guide done by kinfauns, I have rooted and flashed the CM10.1 RC2. Then I wondered what is the difference from the ROM I downloaded on CM's website vs the ones on this list http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859851. A lot of them are still CM10.1. So what exactly is the difference between the CM10.1 on this list and the release candidates and nightly's on CyanogenMod?

[Q] Build AOSP ROM

Hello Developers
is someone able to create an AOSP (KitKat 4.4) ROM for our Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini? It would be great if we have a "vanilla" Android version for our Smartphone and this can be used as base for other ROMs. Would be great if someone could build it
Greetings

Most ROM are based on AOSP or CM (which CM is based on AOSP) :/
And if you want a minimum ROM, there's few ROMs are even less 'bloat' and more 'vanilla' than AOSP itself.
I think he meant that he wanted an actual aosp rom, not just an aosp based rom. While we don't have a pure "aosp" rom for our phones, cyanogenmod is pretty close, slimkat is also pretty bare if you're into that. I'm sure a lot of people could port it, it just remains to be seen if any developer is interested enough to actually do it.
Yes a pure AOSP ROM would be great. The whole ROMs which are aviable for our device are based on AOSP so I think it wouldn't be so difficult to build one from AOSP isn't it?

Slim kat is equal to Slim ROM? In that case there is already a port to the S4 mini in the developer section of this forum

[Q] how many use dualboot and secodary roms?

how many use dualboot and secodary roms???
Please participate in the poll
I'm asking for a new project
Hopefully soon
As long as no clear method is present to show you how to dualboot CyanogenMod 10.1 and 11, probably no one is interested as two ROMs, 4.0.4 and 4.2.2, aren't much of a treat (btw It's the only working combination I got to work but still..)
why not cm11 and cm10.1 ?
I actually use cm11 as primary and cm 10.1 as secondary
I had cm10 and 10.1 and 10.2 as secondary
what matters in the secondary rom is it must use a non ion build
so
the best builds are
cm 10 final
cm10.1 beta 1
cm10.2 beta 4
and any build before that
or any rom that does not use ion kernels
My Gratitude to theonepharaoh
God bless you, dear friend. Your post, right up there, has helped me so much and now I understand how the secondary ROM functions on the ancora. Thanks to you, I now dual-boot Dark CyanogenMod beta3 by the elite Osama, and CyanogenMod 10.1 beta1 by Sir Arne, both ROMs modded and tweaked "custom-ly" by me to match my preferences. As for the tutorial, It's nothing I did, but the experienced user Daniel did back in the 3rd of December on his CM9 and Beam Kat. What a magnificent feature to have on such a powerful device..
question
Hi everyone, I asked for the benefit of the use of dualboot and secodary roms. help me
