[Q] Flashing Unofficial CyanogenMod 10.1 on Xperia Arc - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I followed all the instructions in flashing this ROM. I wiped and reset everything before flashing, i also did it again after flashing. Now I'm stuck at the CyanogenMod spinning logo. Sometimes i see the language picking screen, but few seconds later it goes back to the CyanogenMod spinning logo. HELP!!!! Thank You! How do i fix this?

Since he sometimes gets to the setup screen he definitely did. I suggest looking at the thread in the dev section, iirc theres people facing the same problem
Sent from my lt18 using xda premium

I had the same problem with my Nexus 7.
what i did is to Hard boot the device...
Boot to Clockwork recovery then restore...
I hope you backed up before you flashed...
Back up everytime.
Everytime i flash anything im confident i wont brick my device. as long as you back up and have clockwork recovery...

[Q] An Assortment of Difficulties (I Used Search + Recovery Methods)

Problem now is that its stuck in a boot loop and I've tried and succeeded at flashing the stock rom through odin on windows 7.
Rom starts up occasionally but does not stay stable no matter what rom I flash and just goes back in to a boot loop.
Power button doesn't seem to be stuck.
If anyone can guide me to a solution I will reward them with $5 via paypal.
Have you tried to load the drivers separately (meaning not using the toolbox method)? I have used Windows 8 without any problem, but I didn't use the toolbox. I used Odin. Worked like a charm.
did you wipe cache/dalvik and fix permissions after that install of the 4.1.2 gapps? have you tried odin?? and correct me if im wrong you can boot your phone up but when you get to the home screen you get a bunch of force close? gapps wouldnt and shouldnt soft brick you ??
I'm stuck in a boot loop no matter what rom I flash. I've flashed stock with oden, flashed jedi5 with the stock telus kernal and TWRP and clockworkmod...
I've tried redownloading the stock rom multiple times and I even setup another comp to use windows 7 again.
Yes I have tried oden as well.
I have no idea what to do
Do you get any errors in Odin what r u flashing does it finish if all is failing for you sounds like a sticky power button try fiddling with it with out breaking it your phone should be booting up with all those steps you have performed if Odin doesn't return you to stock and still can't boot something is wrong in deed try and bypass all those errors go Into settings and factory reset then reboot

I'm flashing the stock koodo/telus rom and I have wiped everything multiple times.
I dont think its a stuck power button as it still clicks when i push it.
so again... question ??? is ODIN failing what errors are you getting kinda hard with out much detail ODIN will always restore and if it doesnt then it will give some error...... and you are kind of confusing me bro you can boot to a ROM but its all broken and you can boot into CWM but cant flash anything ?? have you tried flashing TWRP in odin and try to flash a proper ROM again?

It "succeeds" with that green background.
I can boot in to the rom occasionally and everything is perfect but then it crashes and goes in to a boot loop.
And yes I have tried TWRP and flashed Jedi5 after wiping everything in TWRP.
so whats crashing do you get process.core force close /...system.ui stoped working or literally you are doing something on your phone and then BOOM its in a boot loop i know your not new to flashing just trying to really pin point whats really going on here bro its sucks that you are having this issue is this the only ROM you are having this issue with the miui and now the jedi? do you have any tweaks installed build prop edit any special configuration ??

Nothing special is flashed on and its purely just stock. Crashes are just instant with no error. No tweaks or anything and I've tried with the stock recovery, twrp, and cwm. (All recent updates)
Try the dark side wipe. Then flash your ROM. Only use it in twrp tho cuz it can break cwm6+

Just tried that... And I think it ended up just being my power button being stuck down or something?
When I got to the rom this time it popped up with a do you want to restart popup.
I'll report back after some testing.

[Q] One V Won't boot/stuck in a boot loop

Hi! All my problems became today, when I decided to root that samsung ROM. I used evervolv (old version) I red the instructions and I flashed kernel and boot.img with the htc one V all-in-one toolkit. It said that: "boot.img flashed" I was like: nice, and continued, did full wipe, and wiped cache then I flashed ROM and update. I tried to boot, but it did not boot. After waiting for about an hour I decided to do something. I was able to get to fastboot, and I flashed boot.img manually trough adb and fastboot, did everything like before, and still no boot.
I decided to try some else rom, because I have SD- card reader in my laptop. I putted sphongle to SD- card and I was able to get to fastboot, flashed boot.img, and flashed ROM. Phone was not able to boot, and it just got stuck in a boot loop. I tried samsung again, and now I can only get to recovery or to the white HTC- screen, that has text about build being for developement purposes only. Does anyone have any ideas how-to get my phone back to life, or is it totaly dead? Answes appreciated =)

Are you flashing correct kernel check that first.
sent from HOV
powered by sphongle 4.2.2
Hmm... I'm pretty sure that I flashed right kernel, but now I can't get to fasboot screen. Only to ClockWork mod recovery. When I boot device, and press vol. down, and power, it always goes to recovery, or if I start to press those buttons a bit later, it only goes to that white HTC screen with red text. =(
E: After a while phone turns screen off, vibrates, and makes the screen again, so some kind of boot loop i guess?
Use the computer, turn it on normally and type in adb reboot bootloader

[Q] I Cant'flash ANY custom rom on my Note 2???

Hey guys so I had my phone at 4.1.2 all stock everything. Then I decided to root and install the DN3 rom as I Flash the rom the AROMA installer DID NOT open, it just said it flashed correctly and I have to re boot. After Rebot I got stuck at boot loop . I flashed STOCK rom 4.3, and same thing everytime I flash ANY CUSTOM ROM DN3,phoenix,omega,jellykat) Aroma doesnt open but it says it flashed. I always get bootloop or stuck at samsung logo upon flashing any custom roms.
also when I flash a custom rom before i reboot, recovery says either im not rooted, or it has to fix root.
Please help me! I flashed stock rom waaaay tooo many times just trying to get a custom rom. Btw Im in 4.3 Jellybean , XXUEML3 Bootloader
I tried changing my recovery from Philz, CWM. and TWRP Same thing every single time. Tried Downloading from other links. Tried rooting with Dr. Ketan and CF root. Tried using lower Odin versions.

just a random thought, have you done all the wipes correctly? like internal sd card, dalvik and cache and when in philz there's another option to "wipe to install new rom"?
And philz does ask that phone is not rooted do you want to fix it,click on NO
You said you are 4.3 stock ROM,have you rooted it correctly, using dr ketan's tool?

1.Yup, All wipes done including the wipe in philz that says wipe to install new rom
2. I tried that too, still got either boot loop or stuck at samsung logo. I also tried the YES option to fix, but still stuck, or boot loop :/
3. What do you mean by that? Yes I think I did since i have alot of apps that needs root and it runs smooth (TitaniumBackup, LuckyPatcher, BusBox, etc.)

Let me know if flashing one of the NON aroma ROMS works out for you,if you are interested in NON touch wiz ROMS then AOSB rom is good as well, runs off 4.4.2 ,i use it from time to time when i get bored of TW so i keep going back and forth between TW and aosb. Good luck
Err I got the same problem. Only happens on stock roms. Thankfully AOSP roms work but I'd like to use the S-Pen features. Tried like everything, even lost my Titanium Backups accidentally :crying:
Just another thought, why don't you try and flash one of the prerooted stock ROMs which are Knox free. Also they don't have Aroma. Flash using Philz 5.15.0. Hope you succeed. If it boots up succesfully, you can try other ROMs as well. And always do a MD5 checksum before installing just to be double sure what we are installing is not corrupted. Wishing you success!

Hey guys! I did what you guys said but NOTHING INSTALLED! :/ I always get a Fail or Error. Tried Flashing 2 different non-aroma roms, 1 was succesful other one had a failure/error while flashing. But still... both had me on Bootloop and Stuck Samsung logo.
I also check md5 before i flash something. About the MD5... I notice something everytime I flash, I get this "checking md5 : md5 not found : skipping md5 checking" something like that? then the error will start from there, then it wont flash the rom. :/
That's strange. I rooted after installing official 4.3 OTA and never had any problem installing a custom ROM. Using Root explorer check in system/app if you have any Knox bits remaining. Maybe it can be the reason why ROMs aren't installing on your phone. Even I have the ML3 bootloader. Also when you're stuck on Samsung Logo after flashing ROM wait for 10 mins or so and then long press the poeer button which will lead you to the Recovery mode. There again wipe cache and dalvik and reboot and select no when prompted something about lost root.

Also I've noticed upon installing different ROMs, after the Samsung GT-7100 logo the LED lights up first and then stays on for a long time, then you get the menu and back keys lighting up, this only happens when the ROM is succesfully flashed. I've just noticed this while trying out different ROMs, may not be true on every phone. So when I notice this I just let the phone boot up and wait for the Setup screen to show up.

Yes I know that problem. Your system files are corrupted.
Search at sammobile for the latest rom of your country and flash it with odin 3.09.
After that you can root it , flash cwm and majeca backup.

Here is my sad little story!
I started out when i tried DN4 for my Note 2. it worked like a charm. This is way back in 2015 or something. And after a while i saw new ROMS popping up and decided to try them. Followed all the instructions like wipes resets, post installation wipes for cache and so on...then KABOOM goes my Baseband and IMEI. After a lot of man hour on reading and digging posts i found that the patched MJ9 could fix my "emergency calls only" problem. But didn't work on any other ROMS except for stock firmware and DN4. ever since I have been trying to get any other ROM work on my note 2 and i Cant seem to fix it. Always the Baseband vanishes and IMEI goes null. Any thoughts on the same guys?
Do you think there is hope for my little guy?

[Q] Flashing doesn't seem to be working..

It has been about 72 hours of me searching xda and google and nothing seems to be able to fix the issue.
I turned this phone on after a while (a few months) and it goes into a boot loop. So I did a factory reset, it didn't solve the issue, I flashed a ROM nothing seemed to be changed, I decided to flash a different recovery (currently it has TWRP -- I decided to try CWM) but the recovery remains the same (it does say that it was flashed successfully but nothing happens). When I rebooted, it was still running TWRP, and nothing had changed.
And now I realized even a hard reset apparently isn't working.
Does any one know whats up with this? I just completely lost here and blank.
All the flashing never gives any errors in Fastboot. It transfers the file and says that it was flashed.
Please help, what could be the issue?

Asus Logo box error after flash custom rom

Hello,
1st of all i am newbie in here. Yesterday I have gotten into a really strange problem, Searched the internet and this forum also, didn't find any similar kind of problem anywhere. Please help if you can.
For somedays I was using Unofficial CyanogenMod 12.1 Nightly for my zenfone 2 ze551ml. Yesterday I installed Bliss v6.0 for Zenfone 2 using twrp. Before installing bliss v6.0, I made a backup using twrp and did full wipe. but having some error with the bliss rom I tried to go back to cyanogenMod 12.1 using restore from twrp.I also did a full wipe before restore cm12.1. Somehow it didnot restore propoerly and my phone got softbricked.
After that I tried to fresh install the cm12.1 using the zip file. But I couldn't enter into the twrp. When I tried to go to the recovery, my phone just rebooted everytime and took me into the fastboot menu. Also when the phone starts, there is a4 colored box instead of Asus animated logo.
I had to install the twrp again using my computer to enter into the custom recovery mode. After that I did a clean install of CyanogenMod 12.1 and it worked. Right now my phone is working well but whenever I tried to start the phone or reboot it, at the boot menu before showing cyanogenMod logo, the 4 colored box was there, where before the Asus animated logo was showing. I took some picture of it for your better understanding but as this my first post here, neither I found the picture upload option, nor xda let my post image hosting link. If you know how to fix the problem, please help me. I am kind of worried of this problem.
Regards.
It's not a problem, a rom has overwritten the boot screen.
Not sure how you'll fix it unless you try the way you fix the white bootscreen after unlocking your bootloader but not sure if there was another screen before this...

Aside to go back to stock I don't know where you will find it.
If you do go back to stock it will put everything back as it was then you could reflash another custom rom, just be aware though you might have to start from scratch with a factory reset...

Should do as it overwrites everything... Just remember though that you will need to factory reset or you'll have LOT'S of errors...

Thanks. I installed the black splashscreen and it worked. but I didn't have the animated one now. Is there any way to find the stock animated splashscreen?

Here's the bootanimation just place it in
/system/media folder and you will have the factory animation again.
Note: (root required) make sure the file name stays the same. You can rename your old boot animation to bootanimation1.zip if you want to keep it and make sure you got the permissions set to rw- r-- r-- on the new bootanination.zip
