Has anyone figured out how to get the native email app to display the sender and subject on the notifications, rather than just "New email"?

When I get a new e-mail notification (hotmail set up through windows live),if I click on the notification, it takes me straight to the outlook inbox. Is there anyway to prevent this?
In my e-mail settings the check box that "displays account picker" is checked but that doesn't seem to help.
I'm looking to have the e-mail message or the corresponding inbox open, rather than having to select the notification, only to be taken to an empty inbox (I don't use the outlook inbox and in situations where it was set up, it would default to that inbox anyway)
Any help?
Thanks in advance.
*P.S. I've searched extensively for this issue, for the past few days and I haven't bee able to find anything. *
**P.P.S.* This only happnes when I get an e-mail notification, and I use the HTC notification manager to go to the "New Email", only to be taken to my Outlook inbox, vis the hotmail inbox (I only have hotmail linked on my device, no account is attached to outlook
I have an HTC Touch Pro 2 with Sprint.
I am getting annoyed by the new mail notification in the HTC Sense interface.
I receive hundreds of emails a day, and ALWAYS have new mail, so I want to disable this notification.
I'm not talking about the audible notification - but rather the notification screen in HTC sense that lists the notifications (ie. "New Mail", "New Text Message", etc.")
Does anyone know how to disable the new mail notification?
This is pretty weird -- when I reply to a Gmail email on my computer, the EVO triggers the "new email" notification as if I just received a Gmail message. It even shows the new mail icon, but obviously there's no new mail.
I am not cc'ing myself in the replies.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
Yup, noticed that from day one. It's a known issue, something to do with the fact that the Gmail app on your phone sets up a set of IMAP folders in your Gmail account, and they overlap a bit. Whenever I reply using my phone, I end up with two copies in the conversation. But the recipient doesn't see that, at least unless they reply to you and you reply back again, then they'd see the duplicate of the first reply in the conversation history. Minor bug, but it can be annoying.
Whenever I get multiple texts or emails then the notifications stack and it say "2 unread messages" or something along those lines. Would it be possible to split the notifications to allow for it to list each notification individually?
anyone now if this is possible?

Click to collapse
I get individual notifications for email and sms....
I think if you have a single app loading email from multiple sources it will not tell you specifically which account the incoming email has come from, therefore it just counts it as unread mail.
Is there a way to get K9 to show the number of unread emails in the icon like the default mail does?
