I could be totally wrong, but I think the desktop signature shows on all posts, desktop or mobile, and the mobile one only shows on mobile. But your sig showed on that one, so there you go.
Yea I had the taoatalk custom sign and the custom sign on so it doubled but thanks for the help.

Ok, so I'm not new to rooting or flashing... but I'm used to Samsung devices. I have a rooted Epic.
I just picked up an EVO for my kiddo, and was hoping you guys could give me a quick list of the newest/most efficient recovery, root method, ROM, etc. Please post up what ya got. The phone comes out of the box with Froyo 2.2. I know everyone has their own opinions, but I don't want to risk bricking a phone by using an old root method that's been found out or something.
Thanks everyone!
questions go in the Q & A forum

Not new to rooting and flashing yet you dont know this is the developement forum not Q&A? As for a quick list of the newest/most efficient recovery, root method, ROM, etc.... Thats pretty much what the dev forum is... or is supposed to be anyway, except people keep insisting on starting threads here featuring lame questions....
Everything you are asking for on on the Evo Wiki page. The link to it is one of the stickies on this particular forum:

Thank you, rugedraw. I really appreciate it. I know my request came off a bit lazy but I was typing it up right before I left for work. Thanks a bunch.
I rooted my Samsung Epic in just a few mins, but this Evo is a PITA. I've run through the unrevoked 3.21 a few times and it just doesn't complete. I've followed all of the instructions and it runs, but doesn't finish.
I'm not sure where to go from here because it seems everyone else is having no trouble at all. I am currently on a brand new EVO with 3.30.651.2
No one is willing to point me in the right direction?

I don't know where it is, but there are posts on how you can root the 3.30 build, it just can't be rooted the same way you root a 3.29 build.
Sorry bout all the dicks on here but I actually just rooted my evo running 2.2 froyo with unrevoked3 it took 2 attempts but works perfect just go with that and you'll be smooth sailing.

You probably have a new version of the phone with hboot 2.02.

Hello everyone!!
I have the following question, I hope someone can help? I am using an HTC DHD amd would like to have the new sense 3 fully working on it. So I found this article that describes a rom for tbe inspire 4g and figured that the inspire and dhd are actually the same, the rom can work, right??! But, then I found this interesting fact, that rooting is impossible for desire hd that runs on an official 2.3.3. Is this true? Please help, I am ver new to all of this, but very want to learn!!
Thanks in advance
Danny
You don't want Sense 3. It's even more bloated and laggy than its predecessor.

Are you crazy? it's already ported to dhd.it's fully working.and it's rootable.from where the hell you collect this info.check dhd thread.
flash a sense 3.0 rom like this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1115312
His question was also if he could root 2.3.3.
It depends in your baseband. 1.72 etc. Go to setting and about (info) to find it. I think I saw a thread in dev section to now root 2.36. But I could be wrong. Check through the development forum.

Cool! so just an extra info for ya. Almost 2 weeks back there was no such thread to root any DHD above than 2.37 software number. the OP of this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1152233
He figured it out not only 2.37 can be rooted but also with any other different software numbers. If you ever feel like rooting your phone and enjoy some custom ROMs. Follow the link.

Hello everyone yes a noob to this.
Any how verified that the Evo I just bought will not root with Unrevoked 3.32 due to 2.16 hboot and S-On.
I have read through countless threads and forums with no Avail.
Will I have to wait for developers new updates and hope they get the new source codes for HTC EVO's?
My phone statue with ##786# Reconditioned Yes, Last update appears to have been before I bought the phone with the fricken 2.16 hboot s on.
Any logical and intelligent responses welcome.
Thanks in advance.

Developer "jmztaylor" has done a very good job of creating the "Unofficial CM9 for Supersonic" ROM. Unfortunately I read today that he is leaving the EVO and will not be continuing his work.
My question to the community -- (1) will another developer pick up this project and move forward, or (2) should we consider this project dead and move back to CM7?

yes im still pretty new here and to the rooting community in general but this was indeed my favorite rom i came across and have been following it since the first port over by jmztaylor and just like you i was nearly crushed about the news tho i wish him all the best he did awesome work on the rom thus far. but to your question yes two equally great (from what ive read) are taking over where jmz left off. i saw they should be opening a new thread sometime today i guess once the exchange of files and information is good. tho at least this great rom will continue on as ive flashed a lot of ics roms and this has been the most stable for me.

I was glad to to see that you guys would continue this work as the Rom is simply amazing thus far. it really would have been a shame for all the hard work that had gone into this project to just die. I'm new still but its been really cool to see all the help and support for everyone here in the root community. Once you guys get things moving along and have a new thread going I'll following closely for sure.
Has team D.I.R.T. started working on this project? If so, is there a thread to follow?

I wiped EVERYTHING on my phone and installed
I just wiped everything and used the superwipe.zip tool and then went and did something for half an hour, came back and was still on the white EVO 4G boot screen. I waited for a few minutes and the phone kept rebooting to that screen over and over again. It seems like my EVO just hates all team D.I.R.T. roms...

You would have had to partition your SD card in recovery. Since more than likely you haven't don't this please download the Non A2SD version.

which did you flash? He has two versions one is a2ad and the other a non-a2sd for the first (a2sd) you need to partition your SD card or it won't boot. Also be sure to do a complete wipe not you sd tho and all that stuff.

Havana well he fact out go it made this pointless lol my bad my app hadn't updated for some reason glad you got it to work its an awesome from been on his since dirt took over and ran jmz's before that. Never a random boot or any other issue really. Other then the stock SMS app doesnt split texts. But that's an easy fix
I have been watching the Team Dirt development link for progress on the CM9 Port ROM. I see lots of discussion around cosmetic things and useless banter...but I am unable to find actual updates or improvements to the Rom itself.
The last download for the rom was 5-17...is this the latest version or am I using an old link? Or perhaps the features not working can't be fixed so all the dev can do is cosmetic stuff...not sure. Does anyone know?
Regards.
