thanks for the great work. was waiting for this. do not like to install cm roms without something to fall back on. just a question will we need to root and unlock bootloader again if we install this stock rom. i am thinking yes.

Thanks! Glad to have the stock firmware available. The service manual say its not a valid pdf file though. Tried downloading twice.
Again though, thanks for your post.

i don't know how many times i have tried to DL the telus file. it keeps timing out or says i have acceded download limit. any way you can put it on a different server?
thks

I've split the Telus ROM into a 5 part rar and am currently uploading it to zippyshare (200 MB per file limit), will take a while though cause my upload is not that great

All 5 parts are up now, hopefully this works for everyone.

I am unable to download the bell file, completes after 19kb, nor the service manual, same results. I have tried from both home and mobile internet multiple times now. If anyone was able to get either of those files and can reshare on a different server, it would be greatly appreciated.

attempting the rogers one atm will report back
awesome work/find
mind if i stick this thread on my e971 helper thread?

Thanks nasirahmed for the release.

Thanks for these.
So with this firmware, could you take a Telus E973, unlock it, install a new recovery, and then install the Bell firmware?
Basically turning it into a Bell E973.

These include everything and will bring a phone back to stock including all recovery, bootloader, and software.
Whether you can crossflash between the E973's I have no idea, but all you're really going to get for the most part is bell's crapware (I'm guessing) versus telus' lack of crapware.
It's not like it will let you run the phone on a Bell SIM.

All I really want to do is take any Telus branding off the phone. I'm with Bell but there are more Telus versions for sale out there.
Looks like you have a Telus version. Is there a lot of branding during boot, etc?

There really was no branding to speak of on the Telus stock. If you look at the service manual though there are some small differences between the two, so whatever you do is obviously at your own risk

May I ask why it's so big? Samsung stock ROMs are like a third of that, at most.

If you think about it. 900GB isn't too bad considering a Samsung galaxy s3 *.tar.md5 kies file is about 1.1GB
I'm pretty please that Bell's version of the E973. No branding on the phone whatsoever besides the bloatware.
the bootupanimation is just LG and shutdown ani is just LG as well..
edit. *.tot file is roughly 1.3GB after extracted from zip.

I am in the same boat as you and am trying to follow the instructions in the above link, but I am not sure about the step where it asks you to select a .dll file that says 'e970' as I'm not sure if that is AT&T specific.

I can't root my device
I tried SuperOneClick, DoomLord, Root, UnlockRoot, manual root via ADB, but without success.
All the time I get error message that the system is read-only. Well, I really don't need root, but I just wanted to add APN file, host file and to do a few little changes in the system folder.

Not eventually, it came out yesterday in Europe. It's exactly the same phone as the P930, but the LTE antennae are tuned for european frequencies, and the software is LG's generic instead of AT&T branded.
@aremcee,
The LTE antenna tuning you are referring to, is that done at the hardware level or is it controlled by the baseband firmware? As I'm living in Europe currently with a P930, I'm quite interested to know if my device may be able to use LTE over here.

It's hardware. The antenna is too short for the 1800/2600 wavelengths, since it was tuned to AT&T's 700. If your carrier does 800 MHz it will work, but sub-optimally.
Can someone confirm if this is ics based.

Do not flash system dump
Hello, everyone.
DO NOT flash the Rogers System Dump, or any system dump for that matter.
It's simply a set of system files from a Rogers unit, which will help developers design a ROM around a Rogers base.
I sent my Rogers system dump to a few developers for this purpose. Hopefully, over the next few days, we'll have a new ROM with all the features of the Rogers ROM, and without the AT&T influence (they have a habit of ruining good features).
If you're looking for a stock Rogers ROM, you'll have to wait.

P.S. To anyone who knows the answer, what happens if I take an existing custom ROM, for example, the DIET ICS ROM, and overwrite the system files with my Rogers system dump, repack the ZIP file and then flash? Would this work? Would this then become a flashable stock Rogers ROM?
Although I'm quite experienced and familiar with rooting, flashing, etc., this is getting a bit beyond me.
can you post just the modem.. so we can try flashing to at&t and see if we can get the ability to choose 3g/4g /networks thanks.

You're right. I played around with a custom ROM, tried a few tests, and none worked. Fortunately, I did a Nandroid immediately beforehand, so all is well.
I'll wait for a real developer to make a proper ROM.

Anyone want to post steps to do a dump? I've got a Telus model here that's just aching to be helpful to the cause. Although I have already rooted/installed CWM....
I could always just go borrow someone else's for 20 minutes and dump to my SD card though.

go to your command prompt and type
"adb pull /system C:/sgs3/system.img"
C: is your C drive and sgs3 is a folder which you would have to create.
Takes about 15 - 20 minutes and i believe this is a system dump....
I am not sure how to do a modem dump... i guess it would be a folder in there which needs to be pulled.
Rogers Modem
Hello guys,

Flashable version! modem_CWM_Rogers_i747M.zip
Is it the modem or the ROM that allows LTE toggle on our Canadian I747M (compared to our AT&T neighbors) ? Based on my experience with modem flashing from Nexus S and i9100M, my download and upload speeds, and latency and overall connection stability were affected.
If this modem is flashable, I want to try using AT&T modem to see if I get better connection stability.

I cannot believe AT&T doesn't offer the option to disable LTE. I guess they are after increased data consumption, but at the expense of customer dissatisfaction due to worse battery life...come on! I guess we really don't have it as bad as we think with Rogers.

Any official P936 ics kdz?

Ive been looking and wondering if there is an official ICS download for the P936, which i can download and flash using a kdz. Also of the official ICS releases out there which is least loaded with crapware that I wont use.
They haven't released ICS for the P936 as far as I know.
For now, I think the least bloated official release is Bell or Telus. Either is easily rooted, too, so you can uninstall almost anything (with the exception of Google Play Movies, oddly).

I was quite suprised when i ran the lg updater tool today as it showed an available update (V20c).
Finally ICS has been released for LG P936 in Germany and Portugal.
You can also download the official V20C file from http://www.lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=17
It is pretty good (multi-lingual, LTE works, only very few addons installed and ... rootable with universal ics root).
And for our folks from Germany:
Using LTE with german t-mobile is only possible when using the APN internet.telekom .... no other APN is allowed to access LTE network.
Sadly enough this APN only provides non-public IP addresses and VPN is only possible via NAT traversal.
But besides that it is fast as hell
Kind regards,

SGH-M919V Stock Odin Flashable Firmware now available.

There have been a lot of people, including myself, who have been looking for this firmware for quite a while now. And then purely out of desperation I sent in a request to samfirmware.com.
Woke up to an email that had responded to my request & they had already uploaded the firmware!! Link posted below!
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=SGH-M919V&pcode=0#firmware
There are different variations of the same firmware. I can report that the GLW is for the S4 from Wind Mobile & VTR is from Videotron.
I do believe that they should all be the same except for 'bloatware' possibly.
Awesome. I'm downloading now, I'll keep everybody posted. Hopefully I'll be able to flash with Odin. I'll know in about 2 hours as I'm not a paid memeber at hotfile.
Out of curiosity, does anybody know what the no carrier name file is? there's one for videotron, another for wind and another for mobilcity. But there's also a generic one. Maybe it's unbranded.
For some reason I keep getting a "There was an error parsing the json" error while trying to download the firmware. Any reason why?
I've downloaded and flashed ok with Odin. I've downloaded the videotron . I'll try the other one later.

I noticed with the S3 that even though it said WIND firmware it was actually Videotron firmware. I hope they didn't pull the same **** again lmfao

Personally I would recommend radeonmaya's kitkat rom or the HK E988 rom(not really fond of AT&T bloatware). Radeonmaya's rom recently added knock code plus a bunch of themes and other functions. Try out the AT&T rom first though.

yup. It's got some features added that are not on the stock E980 AT&T rom and the HK E988 rom. SLide aside, knock code for unlocking, suggestions for when pluggin on a headphone or a usb cable, more themes. Downside is the speakerphone doesn't work, if that's not a deal breaker then it is worth a try.

You really need to read the instructions:
Download the flashable zip, the fix, you also beed madmacks kernel, the edited build prop and a cwm and twrp flashable zips. You factory reset
Then flash the rom, then the kernel, then the build prop file and reboot.
